Tough day as in, "Bunch of fools suddenly started assuming I was defending a channel I don't watch and have clearly stated my disdain for", then, yes.

NEAG, throw me contact info and sure thing.
GGB, haha, you want some bitters for that nightcap later? You totally jumped on that grenade out of your apolitical sense of fairness in defending FN's honor.

I jumped on nothing and defended nothing. I asked YOU for your top 5 FN lies and got 30 screen shots from f-d, some of which could be considered lies, some could be typos, some may or may have not been corrected. This was interpreted as me defending FN which I was not, I was in the process of making a point about how the entire industry is such bullshit when little things like what f-d posted (which I agree show an AGENDA) are thought of as "lies".
So if you want to get around to answer after all that nonsense feel free to.

Ok, fair enough, GGB. Do you not consider Republicans instantly changing a (D) next to their name on Fox broadcasts once they are having a scandal a lie?
I do read a lot of news, which you could probably guess by my references to CNN, Al Jazeera, BBC, and RTP International(portuguese). I watch Fox sometimes too because it is a Republican hideout and it is hard to get RNC news outside of their little clubhouse network they set up over at Fox.
How about the nonstop references to Obama spending 200 million a day to take a trip to India? That shows horrible reporting, but they are just so blind to trash Obama that they jump at a chance to repeat absurd numbers to their sheep.

I guess my answer to all that drivel is that if I were actually going to care about it or make a judgment, I'd like to have more information about then a screen shot pulled off the internet. But even making that statement makes me seem like I am defending an organization and industry which I have no desire to defend.
I just can't believe they routinely misidentify the political party of scandal-laden without correcting themselves or catch more shit about it on a news source I might actually see or read. Maybe I'll start a blog thread next time a scandal breaks and see for myself.
I just had to do a search to find Fox News on my channel listing and flipped it on. First guest up was Dick Morris claiming that lack of collective bargaining rights will help public schools.

OK, GGB, what do you make of Neapolitano completely flipping the NEA head lawyer's words? I posted the video and gave a link to the story. I also posted the entire quote and what he picked out of it to make the quote do a complete 180.
He purposely edited it to make him say the complete opposite of what he meant. Neapolitano also had the balls to act incredulous at what he was hearing, saying you couldn't believe it even if it was a movie. The reason you can't believe it is because it flat out wasn't true. That isn't even sloppy journalism. That is flat out lying and propaganda because he hates teachers and hates unions and is a paid FN/RNC hack goosestepping to the daily talking points.

On a lighter note, Japan got whacked with an Earthquake this morning. Two things that ran through my mind as I watched some of the BBC coverage.
- 7.2 isn't an aftershock, it's another damn earthquake
- am I a racist because I kept expecting the Japanese Interior Minister to mention Mothra or Rodan in his presser?

Did this quote strike anyone else as odd:
"If we could go out and identify another 40,000 people that were missed, and it brings us over the threshold of 750,000, that would make a difference from what we can get from the federal and state government," Mr. Bing said at a news conference Tuesday."

Seemed like the most appropriate thread for this. If you weren't convinced that America's on the downslide due to the ambivalence of today's youth or their abysmal test scores, their lack of interest in science and engineering should be the final nail in the coffin.
"The most disturbing passage in "Physics of the Future" doesn't concern the future; it's about the present. In that passage, Mr. Kaku recounts a lunchtime conversation with physicist Freeman Dyson at Princeton. Mr. Dyson described growing up in the late days of the British Empire and seeing that most of his smartest classmates were not—as prior generations had been—interested in developing new forms of electrical and chemical plants, but rather in massaging and managing other people's money. The result was a loss of England's science and engineering base.
Now, Mr. Dyson said, he was seeing the phenomenon for the second time in his life, in America. Mr. Kaku, summarizing the scientist's message: "The brightest minds at Princeton were no longer tackling the difficult problems in physics and mathematics but were being drawn into careers like investment banking. Again, he thought, this might be a sign of decay, when the leaders of a society can no longer support the inventions and technology that made their society great." Yo, click it

Disagre with Mr Princeton. Despite what most people think, economic innovation is still innovation, and is as vital to society as all the rest of it.
When there's no more room for progress, the capital will follow back to his precious laboratory.
