I wanted to find this clip (yes, I know it well and Im sure many of you may have seen the exact footage im referring to) of the Marine Bio student having her leg taken off, by a Great White, while swimming and trying to get back into the boat.

Ive seen the unedited footage, shot from another vessel, complete with her screams and 'oh no' commentary from the guy filming (who never takes his camera away tho).

I could only find it with mainly reinactments in the clip, from Discovery Channel, but some of the original footage is in here.

I guess what I take from this is at 1 pt in the real footage you can see the shark under the surface of the water, calmly going back after it's prey- this chick- after its already bitten her once and shes struggling to make it to a boat to be saved. Cool as a cucumber, he just comes up behind her and BAM! You'll hear her screams as she tries to remain above water -more like plaintiff wails actually,,...

Oh, and im always amazed at the size diference- when you can see the sharks entire body under the surface, and its a 16 footer so nothing 'HUGE' necesarily, til you see this human so clumsily trying to get away, man, its creepy/cool really....

Here's a "Jersey sucks" story for ya-


After a day of fishing on my uncle's boat (we had a good day...40 or so flounder, blues)- we come back to the dock, and we notice these 4 or 5 guys trying to pull something out of the water. We pull up and GOOD LORD it's a shark. They caught it and strapped it to the side of their boat, but they can't get it out of the water. It's a Tiger shark to be exact. So we help them pull on the ropes, and finally we get it up- and then CRACK! That is the sound of the dock groaning. Crazy. They said it was about 17 feet, but I don't know. All I know is that I never saw a scarier creature in person.

it was a beach in Hawaii about 15 miles away from anything. No jar, just piss right on the hand

i let her fly, then ran into the water to wash it off and almost had a sea turtle snap my joint off

snapping turtles are also one of the scariest creatures on this planet- seen em up close and I'd just as soon make soup

Tiger sharks eat anything, so logically they are more dangerous than Great Whites

Was reminded of "Faces of Death" and the guy who gets mauled trying to record lions up close, in front of his family. Disturbing, really, until you remember that THESE THINGS WILL EAT YOU. And your flesh tastes like soft beef to them.

See now Ive always thought that too KB, but reading the animal attack sites that I do, some of those guys swear its real.
