Zak, do you really think that any girl (or guy) would be sucking on that thing if it was like an anteater?
Bingo.
From what I'm told by the women I went to college with, one of my friends (who was born in Europe) is uncircumsized, and well, let's just say the ladies weren't all lining up to suck it.
When you're younger, getting chicks to give you a blowjob is difficult enough (let alone finding a chick who's watched enough porn to know how to give a decent one) that you don't need the added obstacle of toting around an unnecessary snakeskin.

Having been on the "inside" for over 14 years lets clarify some points.
The FAA prior to 9/11 was in charge of security throug CASFO (Civil Aviation Security Field Offices) at major airports throughout the US and overseas.
Airlines were given responsibilities through the FAA. Airlines did have a greater say back in those days on how they operated.
Today the TSA controls everything. The TSA has the authority to delay departures and arrivals for perceived security risks. The TSA can also board any aircraft they deem necessary to perform further screening and can actually ask all airline personnel to deplane so they have the entire aircraft to themselves.
Having watched some of these "security sweeps" it always provided a good laugh as to how "inexperienced" the TSA agents were at what compartments on the aircraft were accessible.
The problem with the TSA is most of the top management are prior law enforcement with NO Aviation Operations Experience. Most of the regulatory inspectors are all former law enforcement with no understanding as to how aviation works. Every once in a while you get a screening manager who used to work in the airlines and understands the process to "ground handle" a flight.
The TSA continues to put the screws to both passengers and airline employees with no regard to the crooks who currently work for them. Next time you travel watch the TSA employees walk through the metal detectors and set them off and not get stopped by any fellow employees.
Private Security Screening is an option. The difference from pre 9/11 is the TSA will still have a FSD (Federal Security Director) and Regulatory Compliance Inspectors present at these airports. I believe the requirement will also include a screening manager liason between the TSA and the Contractor.
Training is a serious concern today as it was pre 9/11 along with the competance of who is being hired.. Instead of hiring "third worlders" pre 9/11 you now have the trailer trash/inner city American Citizens searching your bags.

Where is BMA's map. That thing was great, BTW, I was laughing out loud at at least 5-6 of those.

Yeah, that'd be Michael Chertoff....the old director of Homeland Security.

Honest to god, I can't see what the big g-d deal is.
Flying is not a birth right. It's a service provided by primarily private orginizations.
Lots of people have a stake in the security that comes with that service - well beyond just the people actually on each flight.
No, you shouldn't be strip-searched in front of a crowd or whatever other stuff has been leaking out (mostly in the form of first-person anecdotes, by the way).
But do we need some massive security overhaul or new federal legislation? Don't think so.

and if some planes get driven into buildings or blown up in mid air, well, that's just something for the private aviation industry to worry about. i mean, you could have just stayed home.

To elaborate:
right, neither is driving. let's leave all automobile safety and environmental regulations to the auto industry.
I was not advocating no authoritative involvement in airport security - indeed, the current system (which if you read carefully I basically endorsed) is federally controlled.
and if some planes get driven into buildings or blown up in mid air, well, that's just something for the private aviation industry to worry about. i mean, you could have just stayed home.
Hijackings under the current security regime: zero.

one of my favorite hallmarks of the ignorant trying to debate an argument - ad hominem attacks.
neither of my comments was a non-sequitor. my first comment was what we call an analogy, and the second was a direct response to your appallingly casual, unrealistic and naive view of air travel safety.

Olv, security is not a static thing, it has to evolve because the threats are evolving.
Personally, I think the people making a big stink about the groin pat either don't care if they get blown up, or are running their mouths without having thought thru the possible consequences if they were to get their way. I saw one guy interviewed who objected to the scans AND the patdowns, and the interviewer asked him "Well what would you suggest the airline do?"
His answer?
"Oh I don't know"
Super.
How about your dumb ass stays off the plane then?

yeah, olv, i was actually pissed about something unrelated i had just read about the new GOP reps and was looking to rip into someone.
also, this line that you wrote - "Lots of people have a stake in the security that comes with that service - well beyond just the people actually on each flight" - sounded something much like part of ron paul's rationalization in support of his bill to turn aviation security completely to the private sector, so i thought that's where you were going.

Nah, to the contrary. I generally like (but don't love) Paul, but this bill and all the uproar around 'invasion of privacy' strikes me as sanctimonious.
As a general comment, I fly all the time and think the vast majority of airport security people do a terrific job. It is monotonous, utterly thankless work. Most of them seem to handle their job with reasonable dignity and good humor while taking it as seriously as can be expected.
Every time someone makes a comment about how stupid they are (like I often hear Bill Maher do, for example) it grates a little.

Flesh, the difference between tha auto industry and the airline industry is you buy your car. You don't buy the plane, you buy a ticket to rent a seat on the plane, much like a bus or a train.
They aren't the same thing. If I buy my car, there are federal regulations that I have to follow to make sure I don't fuck up other people's cars or lives. I can do a lot in my car that they can't regulate. Conversely on a bus let's say, there are things I cannot do. An example, I can blast music in my car and pretend I'm James Effing Brown at the top of my lungs while driving (and maybe Seth will come out of his car and hit me with a baseball bat, but that's about it). On a plane, they'll escort you off and prevent you from traveling.
