Saw "The Town" and liked it. Kinda predictable but definitely entertaining. Jeremy Renner has a way of being totally menacing and friendly at the same time, like that scene at the restaurant. The ending felt a little Shawshankish, didn't care for it. Overall though pretty good.

Too unrealistic, IMO. As an American, I'd probably just beat the apes up or bamboozle them with my American education.
If it took place in a third world country like Italy, sure...I could buy it. America? Uh, no.

it's a paradox, f-d. sure, no super-fucking-apes could beat an american, but what if the apes got super smart because of an experiment done by americans? whichever side wins, a part of america is defeated.
it's like the question posed by homer: "could jesus microwave a burrito so hot that not even he himself could eat it?"
the movie should never have been made, the more i think about it.

Yup, wasn't a bad flick. Of course they had to show every cool part of Boston including Fenway.
Liked the Mechanic even though the ole lady told me it was a remake.
Tough living with a broad who knows more about movies and TV shows than anybody iN THE FKN WORLD.
GOD BLESS HER FLABBY TITS.

Anyone see Tree of Life? Found it boring as hell. One of those movies where 10 minutes in you say to yourself "surely the whole thing won't be this way!?", and it slowly becomes clear that it will.
Reaction seemed pretty strongly negative in the theater I was in.

"Kick-Ass" is the 1st movie I've ever stopped before finishing. I had enough when Nic Cage shot his daughter with a gloc while she was wearing a vest

Loved Kickass, it actually was one of Nick Cage's more recent movies where he actually acted and didn't play Nick Cage in it. His channeling of Adam West really showed his chops.
The girl was amazing too, I'm looking forward to the sequel if/when they make it.

My daughter wanted to see Final Destination 5. So we watched FD 1 thru 4 before hitting the matinee on Sunday to watch FD5. FD 1 was good, 2 & 3 OK, 4 complete garbage, and 5 would be complete garbage in 3D except for how they tied it back into the first one at the end.
Why is everything in 3D anymore? Can't we just watch movies? Unless they make them holographic, I'm over the whole 3D thing.

slap, they need something to get people to pay more for the movies. Typical movies cost what, $9 for an adult, but in 3d they can charge more, Faux Imax 3d they can charge as much as $20/ticket.
$4 for popcorn and $7 for nachos or $10 for a personal pizza isn't good enough anymore. Most movies you can see in 2d if you want though even if they have the 3d billing.

Movies are beyond brutal. We took my daughter to see Winnie the Pooh for her 4th Bday. Matinee show on a Sunday. It was $27.50 for tickets and $25 for 2 sodas, popcorn, candy, and a water. Grand total of $52 for a movie that is an hour long.
Next time I go to the movies I am taking my own shit in.
