Black Swan and King's Speech...they've been sitting on my DVR and I can't bring myself to watch them OR delete them.

Instruct me.

Watch them both, and then wallow in your disappointment.

Watch them both, and then wallow in your disappointment.

Are you saying they suck or saying I'll hate them no matter what because I hate everything?

Definitely the former. They were both Ok movies that hinted at just a off year for Oscar nominations. I got fairly lit up during Black Swan and it barely held my attention towards the end, didn't help that Portman looks like she just emerged from Auschwitz for the role.

And I don't think you hate everything, just solidly written Sitcoms with a nice sprinkling of eye candy.

I have to say the neighbor in BBT has extremely high levels of "girl next door" hotness.

If If get another no vote on those movies, I'm bagging them, so your help is much appreciated. It gets to the point where you almost have to schedule time to watch a movie, so wasting that window on a movie that isn't worth it sucks.

If you like movies about British Royalty, Colin Firth, and/or Geoffrey Rush, you might like The King's Speech, but unfortunately for me, that trifecta is glug....glug....gurgle.

A lot of people thought King's Speech was great, if that helps, f-d. Just not my style of movie.

I've had several opportunities to watch these movies including a long plane flight. To present, I've still not seen them. Can't bring myself to do so.

Therefore, they suck.

Flesh, Helen Mirren is approaching Jude Law territory in that she seems to be in every other movie that comes out.

fd, if you had to pick one to watch, King's Speech was good. Black Swan, not so much. Agree with GGB on his depiction of Natalie Portman.

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy was pretty terrible. Messy plot, difficult to follow, and not much payoff.

"the rum diary" - major disappointment. boring, meandering, pointless.

"drive" - awesome. great story, great pace, really good balance. the driving scenes were tight and pushed the story without being gratuitous or trying to be the story. loved the '80s feel (down to the font used for the credits) without coming off as silly.

I dunno, but "Why Did I Get Married Too" was so bad and turned me off so much on his work that it might as well have been "Jack and Jill" to me
