Nimrod.
No, they did one episode where they went over a couple of the "eras" of Batman - one was from the 50s/60s where the Joker was like you described (more of a guy with a white face that wanted to get rich) and the Frank Miller one from "Dark Knight Returns". The "Showmaker" comment was kinda funny.
And shoot, if some guy can hunt Kathryn Erbe (umm.....seriously? She's um....quite, er.....no) and legally name his children Harleyquinn and Batgirl, then there's hope for all of us

And Batman: TAS was awesome due to the fact that they used black paper for the animation instead of the standard white

Seth maybe he's watching it with the kids? I watch Sesame Street almost once a day with the boy so I can related (Batman cartoons > Anime IMO).

Was that the one on in the early 90s? like 1991/92? I was in college then and I think Ive seen that one youre mentioning tho i never recall knowing it as Batman-TAS (????)
FB mentioning Mark Hamil doin the voice makes me think we're talkin bout the same show.
Yes, that was good.

Agreed. Best part of the Jay and Silent Bob movie was him channeling that.

Sesame Street today is a bastardized piece of shit.
Nuttin like what we grew up on.
Thankfully, my daughter was NEVER into it so I didnt have to suffer.

Agreed on that, we get "on demand" SS and the stuff from the aughts aren't bad, but the new stuff on the air pisses me off. WTF Cookie Monster got fired from the letter of the day for that hack Murry? And what the F is up with that fairy?

It's what the kids watch, I guess. Abby Cadabby is one of Pico Bass' favorites. I tried watching it, and while it's still educational, it's in a different mindset - more showy, more episodic, I guess.
I mean, shoot - this stuff is classic:

Batman-TAS= Batman: The Animated Series
Yeah, same show.
What made Hamill's rendition of the Joker so great was his maniacal laugh- probably the best voicing of a evil cartoon character ever. That laugh had a life of it's own, unless you've watched those episodes I'm probably making no sense.
Also funny is watching behind the scenes of Hamill doing the Joker- while other actors just sit in their chairs while doing their parts, Hamill would stand, jump and dance around the microphone like a madman

TDKR: B-, Action was good, Bane was outstanding for the most part, but Nolan phoned this in; Bale's Batman is a pussy and I can't buy Alfred doing half of what they had Caine do in the film.

For all you comic books nerds, the King returns next summer. If you are fans of intense karate training and a car with rockets on it, this may not be your kind of hero. He has actual "super powers".

Regarding Sesame Street, I also had a difficult time adjusting, but the kid loves it...Abby and all. They still recycle a lot of old clips, which are like a blast from the past. I'm not sure my son will need to learn where to take the film from his camera when he needs it developed, though.

Seriously FD?
1) Casting Superman with the idea of "The Dark Knight can fly" won't work becausze it's not his character;
2) Yep, that's how I want my "kings" - looking like hobos on "Deadliest Catch";
3) The logo looks like they got some extra WNBA balls and a lot of free time;
4) His "super powers" look little more than 3 bean night at the local hacienda.
C'mon.

Im not gonna crap on the flick before its time, but seriously FD, gimmie a break
Im willing to bet this "KING" wont touch the box office draw of TDKR
Nor should it.
TDKR i thought was excellent and look fwd to seeing it again.
Loved Bane, loved "the spoiler" which I wont ruin for those who haven't seen it yet, at the end (Tho if you know the general Batman story- you likely guessed halfway thru the flick as I did in the theater).

Seth were you on bath salts? TDKR was horrible with the exception of Bane. Some of the action was ok but it was far worse than the previous Nolan versions. I don't really want to touch spoilers here (maybe a thread if you want to discuss further) but I had to watch the Michael Keaton Batmans just to get the pussy taste out of my mouth after watching Bale.

You mavens of the silver screen can debate the movies and the comic strip aficionados can debate the quality of the cartoon magazines, but in real life, I think we can all agree Super Powers defeat karate.

Super Powers that get nullified with the presence of some rock though. I think that's the reason why Marvel made Hulk green to begin with.
