I was wrong when I said Boston whips them in 5.

But I feel like this game might resemble the last elimination game these two played years ago in Boston, where the Sixers got curb-stomped and Antoine Walker shimmied his way into bankruptcy.

Hope I'm wrong again

it might very well end up they get killed again, but this series is in no way similar to that series

No, didn't mean to imply that it was. Just looking at the final game.

Hopefully ET goes Boston Strangler 2.0 on them tomorrow

Sad? We got to talk about this team 3 weeks past the point where anyone thought they'd be relevant.

This run was worth it just for the 4th quarter of Game 6 against the Bulls. The comeback in Game 4 against Boston was great, too. Everything else was gravy.

Let's build on this for next year, management.

And I know you're not "sad" - just pointing out this was a good run. Would rather have bowed out in 7 against the Cs than the complete slaughter that was awaiting them in the ECF

I'm disappointed in this thread's lack of references to "playing with house money."

I really don't understand this mentality. Other than it being fun to watch more playoff games, and getting more experience and national exposure for your team, what if Lebron twists a knee like Rose did?

Of course I want them to go far, but I'm not holding my breath waiting for a team to suffer a debilitating injury - that may work for the Eagles, but not here

It's also knowing that your team doesn't have much chance playing against the Heat. LeBron going down is one thing, but as last night showed, you can't fight the Heat AND the refs

When Screamin' A says that it was direct order from the league, you know you're not in Kansas anymore (or something)

Might be taken down soon, but consider what he's saying and how much Lebron complains about fouls on his team and didn't get Ts

Last week there was a guy in the bar who was making the argument that he wanted the Sixers to advance as far as possible, so they'd keep getting national exposure, making Iguodala more of a valuable trade commodity.

Does this make any sense at all? Was Andre Iguodala really some sort of secret, unknown to the league's GMs prior to the playoffs?

IMO, it doesn't make sense. GMs around the league know who Igoudala is and his strengths/weaknesses. Him getting national exposure isn't going to turn him into a top tier player.

Sure it makes sense- the GM's are more likely to pull the trigger on a trade for Uggy if there is no fear of backlash (aka screaming for the GM's head).

Always been that way, always will be

i see what you're saying fred, but i don't think most gm's operate like that. first, b/c it's hard to match up salaries, second, most fans aren't going to watch the finals, let alone the semi's or ECF. Iggy would have to have had pulled off Jordan shit.

i mean, hibbert is showing a ton right now, but i think most teams would still be scared to do a sign and trade for him

So the team that was owned by the league, begged Tom Benson to buy them so they wouldn't move, and is hosting the ASG AGAIN in 2 years, gets the #1 pick.

Only thing that would've made it complete would've been Michael Jordan hitting Patrick Ewing from behind with a steel chair
