Hate to admit it, but T.O. looks like a changed man...

He used to wait a whole year after signing a new dea before he started acting up. Here are seperate reports from Cowboys camp from Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of this week and while I have no idea what they mean in the long run, it's a fun read.

The first 2 are from Scout.com (you have to pay to read, but these are from Cowboys fans, not bashers). The 3rd is just a small piece out of an article yesterday.

1. Monday report (from Scout.com):
T.O. IN THE P.M.: In fairness, it must be pointed out: Monday afternoon marked the first revelation of a chink in the Terrell Owens armor.

Following largely unsuccessful 7-on-7 work, offensive assistant Todd Haley summoned his players over to another side of the field. Owens, however, did not join the group, choosing, apparently, to register his disgust by taking a knee alongside the defensive players.

And after practice, T.O. remains on the field for a looong time, first engaging in an animated conversation with Haley, and then meeting with Parcells to voice some additional opinions. No predictions of a coming disaster here; just a chink in the armor, that’s all.

2. Tuesday Report (from Scout.com):
UNHAPPY CAMPER: The entire offense was out of synch in the lone workout, including the new star receiver. He short-armed and missed a ball over the middle with two defenders closing on him, stayed on the ground for an extra few seconds after leaving his feet and missing a pass in the end zone and dropped a slant in 11-on-11 drills. After a catch by Patrick Crayton, a fan bellowed, "Patrick, show T.O. how to catch the ball."

3. Wednesday report from AP:
T.O., Bledsoe Struggling to Find Rhythm: After the deep ball that didn't come close in a drill without defenders, the pass that was underthrown in double coverage and the one that went high, wide and out of bounds, Drew Bledsoe must have sensed frustration rising in Terrell Owens.

So the quarterback made a pre-emptive strike Wednesday morning. Soon after they went to the sideline, Bledsoe went looking for Owens, walking about 50 yards merely to give him an encouraging pat on the rear.

Such an exchange between most quarterbacks and receivers would hardly be noticed, especially during the seventh practice of training camp. However, everything that happens between this receiver and his quarterback is newsworthy.

What? No "Yawn"?

I thought heresay was the craptacular story you kept citing here this offseason when T.O kicked the "Badassador's" ass in the lockerroom.

What?

"I thought heresay was the craptacular story you kept citing here this offseason when T.O kicked the "Badassador's" ass in the lockerroom."

Now that's just plain untrue. While I thought it was funny, I never claimed to know if it was a true story or not. You have me confused with Obi-Wan-Neag...

And who the fuck are you, Judge Wapner? STFU and quit acting like your opinion is more important than anybody else's.

I thought it was good stuff and I'm counting the days until TO rips that team apart. Any news on this front is good news and I'm loving the fact that people are reporting on everything TO - not tired of it at all. Will it matter in the long run? Probably not. But TO will hold a grudge about the smallest things so who knows.

I'm still waiting for Pinkston to gain a lb. or two. (At this point I couldn't care if the weight gain was fat or muscle.)

Guess throwing to Pinkston's beanpole body could screw up your completion % a bit.

Actually, McNabb's completion % has benefited by Pinkston’s notorious one yard “hitch and stay route”.

More comments like this, and I may begin to respect Dallas fans.

Last week I read in either the DN or the Inky that Lehigh fans are now doing the same chant for Baskett.

I didn't hear it last Saturday, but I gotta say that song with the word Baskett makes no sense at all and is a pretty desperate stretch from some homeristic fans. Of course, these are probably the same people who were cheering wildly for every 3-yard completion from McNabb.

T.O. Update:

OXNARD, Calif. (AP) -- Terrell Owens did not practice with the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday because of a sore left hamstring.

Wearing a hooded sweat shirt, shorts and a wrap on his left thigh, Owens spent most of his time slowly riding an exercise bicycle. He stopped pedaling to do a situp drill and another with a medicine ball. In between, he spent several minutes talking to owner Jerry Jones.

I have to say I never heard the first paragraph, or the last. The 2nd one needs to give the whole story. Parcells has stated the offense is behind the defense at this point, which is normal for this time of year. He also added yesterday, that he believes the secondary looks good with the players they have(he knocked on the table afterwards). You dont usually hear things like this from parcells (especially this time of year).

There defense will be the strongest part of the team this year.

Some Owens/Cowboys news:

First, Owens still isn't practicing but I think it's more out of laziness than the injury...he'll be magically fine when the season opens.

Second, Owens appears to be doing some work behind the scenes while he's skipping practice:
-------------------
OXNARD, Calif. - Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells has expressed concern over the depth of his receiving corps. And the latest hamstring injury to Terrell Owens certainly doesn't help.

So maybe that's why the Cowboys worked out former Eagles receiver Freddie Mitchell on Sunday, taking a free look at a veteran with experience.

Mitchell (6-0, 195) did not play last season after four years in Philadelphia. The former first-round pick (25th overall in 2001) played one season alongside Owens in 2004. Mitchell filled in nicely for Owens, who suffered an ankle injury at the end of the season that forced him out of four games, including two in the playoffs.

The Eagles released Mitchell in May 2005. He signed with the Kansas City Chiefs but was released in September 2005.

Mitchell, who played his college ball at nearby UCLA, never lived up to first-round expectations, catching 90 passes in four years. His best season came in 2003 when he recorded career-highs in catches (35), receiving yards (498) and touchdowns (two).

But the Cowboys aren't looking for a starting-quality receiver, especially if Owens and Terry Glenn stay healthy. Owens has missed the last three days of practice, including Saturday's controlled scrimmage because of a sore hamstring. MRI results from Saturday were negative, though Owens said he will not rush his return.

But regardless of Owens' injury, there are some depth concerns behind the starters. Patrick Crayton and Terrance Copper have been inconsistent here in the first week of training camp practice. Crayton caught 22 passes last season, but just four in the last month of the season after returning from an ankle injury. Copper has just eight career catches in two seasons.

The Cowboys have a group of young, inexperienced players behind Copper and Crayton, including Jamaica Rector, J.R. Tolver and rookie free agents Sam Hurd and Miles Austin.
--------------------------

Looks like Mitchell is trying to take it up a notch. After being cut in favor of a guy named "Taco" when he auditioned for Green Bay last year, he's lookign to miss the opening day roster on the account of a character named Jamaica.

For being such a whining, non-regular-producing, POS, Mitchell made some pretty memorable catches. The catch of LJ's fumble against the Vikings, the 14 second "Dallas sucks at catching McNabb sometimes" bomb, and of course he had some 4th down catch at some point in time I can't quite place my finger on. 3 catches out of his whopping 90 career grabs, but they were entertaining.
