They threw to him more than they threw to any other receiver. Just sayin.

If that's what you call that... I guess.
It sure didn't seem like it, even though they said he was targeted 11 times or whatever. Eagles pressure had a lot to do with that, but some of those "passes" were PATHETIC.

Just sayin'

And so were most of his attempts at catching them. You don't call out your QB, act like a baby, then short-arm and drop easy passes.

In Peter King's comlumn, the stats were: Owens: 13. Glenn: 8. Jason Witten: 5. Marion Barber: 4. Patrick Crayton: 3. Julius Jones: 2. Anthony Fasano: 1. Lousaka Polite: 1

I read some other article stating he had 9 passes thrown his way.

What planet does T.O. live on where 9- 13 passes coming to you means they shouldn't have even bothered signing him?

Fred- are you and T.O. the last people on earth to realize that calling out your QB for losing the game on the sidelines, in the locker room, and in your press conference is not a good thing whether the point is right, wrong, or some of both?

I'm not saying that I agree with that- it's never a good idea to really say what you feel(be a diplomat-i.e. LIE to the media is what most guys do).

I'm just saying in this case, even though it was bad to come out and say it, I didn't necessarily disagree that Bledsoe sucked.

At least in this game, anyway.

I don't really disagree that Bledsoe kinda sucks, either.

Given T.O.'s history of publicly embarassing himself when it comes to his QBs, you would think he could have done a little research on Bledsoe since he's sucked since the late 90's.

Point is, T.O. hates every QB he plays with for an extended period of time, so I guess it didn't matter. I'm just shocked he was able to go from playing the "team guy" card to publicly calling out teamates again in such a short period of time.

Again, Bledsoe wasn't fully to blame, like I said before- the O-line has to take a lot of that heat as well. But Bledsoe just crumbled like dry leaves in the fall, and that WAS sad to watch, even for me- a Cowboy hater.

Again glad we won the game, still more questions for me about the Eagles and how good they really are.

Fred,

To be fair, I think most folks in the bleeds yesterday and today have said that while they are thrilled with a victory and the team's record at this point, no one is fooled into thinking the Birds don't have holes.

For a defense that sacked and picked the QB so much, the opposign team was in the game util the end.

Even McNabb apologists have acknowledged that he played big in a big game but still made some ugly throws.

Too many big plays on offense, but no long drives, and the running game is still stuck in neutral.

But as a purported fan, isn't some enthusiasm called for the day after a division win over a hated rival; before a return to ripping the team and #5?

FB wasn't ripping McNuts. He was simply sticking up for T.O. in an objective fashion.

Any team and its fans previously jilted by TO have reason to point out his predictable behavior, but none of it is surprising. It's hard to imagine in Philadelphia, where poor receiving has single-handedly caused more than a few losses in the past decade, but, usually, one can rarely attribute a loss or a win to a receiver. T.O. didn't lose the game for the Cowboys. He was barely a factor. All he knows is that he knows how to make plays with the ball in his hands. It just has to get there. T.O. has always displayed a remarkable amount of ignorance concerning the actual work involved by others in putting receivers in a position to be successful. Furthermore, TO is well known for short arming passes during close games. Those games are close for a reason. In many games, the dude goes heoically over the middle.
Nevertheless, criticizing TO at this point is useless. He didn't do anything yestarday that he hasn't done before, and when he ultimately throws his QB and his coach under the bus, that won't be new, either. I don't see the point in celebrating it. It's actually somewhat pitiful to see someone with as much natural talent as T.O. has fail to capitalize upon it because his psyche simply isn't built for team sports.

I just felt/feel Fred's post still smacked of some latent Eagles hatred . . . like he was lookign for things to complain about, while begrudgingly offering praise . . . but I could have read it wrong . . . or maybe I'm just conditioned to think of Fred as a naysayer.

I read it the same way you did.

I like how he still won't admit that TO got beat yesterday. It's Bledsoe's fault, it's the o-line's fault, it's the receivers coach's fault. But it's not TO's fault.

He was covered by a 5th string CB all day and he got 3 catches. There was some suspicion that TO's presence would open things up for Glenn and that didn't happen. Yeah the pressure had something to do with it. That's the point. The Eagles defense, playing as a team made TO their bitch and may have ended Dallas's season if TO starts to tear that team apart.

I think that if TO wants to be really upset, it would be with the fact that on at least 3 key third downs that I saw in the second half he was blanket covered by Joselio Hanson. To me, that was the biggest FU the eagles could have given owens, and the really scary part was, that Joselio had him covered and covered well every time he lined up across from him.

No doubt about it, TO is a great receiver between the lines, but sometimes he needs to look in the mirror and say, if I cant get open against the 4th CB, maybe its not just the QB.

Sorry Uber, but when I was able to see T.O. on those crossing routes and deep posts, he WAS open. Bledsoe simply never pulled the trigger, or pulled the trigger too late or too short.

I wasn't at the game, so I can't say that I know this for sure. I'm just giving my impression- what's the matter, you don't like it?

What a surprise.

I think I already gave props to the pressure that the front seven brought to the table- that was great. JJ really hit the pedal and never let up, which was the correct thing to do against that team.

I just don't see where you guys have a problem with what I'm saying here.

FB I have no problem with what you are saying, but I think that you have so often taken the opposing side of things, that a little backlash has been built up.

I agree that the front seven played well in terms of creating pressure making it easier for the secondary, but the point of the matter is that the defense as a whole played well. The entire defense including nickel and dime corners, same with Barber and the rotating line.

JJ never let the peddle up and that was great to see, and the secondary in those situations has to step up or else the big play will cost you, and they did that. Total team effort for that win.

I haven't heard that Owens was calling his QB out. This game was a very close game. Could have gone either way.

If bledsoe has time, he makes his passes. The eagles won this game because of the pressure that was put on Bledsoe. Although McNads numbers were good, he didnt impress me.

If this game had gone the other way, playcalling would have been the focus today.

Hats off to JJ.

If bledsoe has time, he makes his passes.

Um, I disagree a little there. Because on the occasions where the pressure didn't reach him, he was still jumpy and jitterish back there. In my humble opinion, if he plays like that when teams blitz him (and if they watched that game, they surely will), bledsoe won't make it thru the season.

SnB, you have to admit, Bledsoe looked like a rookie at times...

And another thing, I can't see why you weren't impressed with McNabb. He made plays, and for the most part, kept the worm burners to a minimum- to me that was the most impressive. Still has the touch issues on short passes, but the long ball and deep routes were mostly all there.

Although McNads numbers were good, he didnt impress me.

What does he have to do to impress you, SnB? Please tell.

Chew on this and tell me you are still not impressed: Rob Phillips, of DallasCowboys.com, reports Philadelphia Eagles QB Donovan McNabb threw for 354 yards versus the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5, marking an all-time high of passing yards given up by the franchise. McNabb surpassed the previous record of 345 yards he had set in 2004.

So Donovan has the #1 and #2 best passing performances against the mighty Cowgirls franchise, yet those fans are not impressed?
