Numbers and wins don't impress him, so you might as stop wasting your time.
That is a funny stat.

I'm just giving my impression- what's the matter, you don't like it?
No, I'm just saying that you won't come out and say that your boy had a shitty day. It's all about Bledsoe or it's all about the Cowboy's O-line.
"TO got beat by the Eagles D"
It's not that hard to say. Yes, he absolutely was open, but because of pressure on Bledsoe he didn't get thrown to. It was a team effort that took down the guy who tried to put the "I" in team.
I'm not sure why you have to make everything so wishy-washy and full of excuses. If you've got something to say, come out and say it and stop with the "I'm not going to say it because you're going to blah blah blah" crap or the "well, TO didn't have a big day because of the Cowboy's offensive line".
The reason why it feels like people are piling on you is because you've been here talking shit about McNabb and talking up Owens. Now McNabb is crushing opposing defenses and Owens is not and rather than own up to what you've said, you're pushing this off on the Cowboy's offensive line. It's just old.
Wait for it ... wait for it ...
gimme a "yawn".

I haven't heard that Owens was calling his QB out. This game was a very close game. Could have gone either way.
SNB, it was during the post game press conference (I watched it last night). Here's are some parts:
"I felt like I was open," Owens said. "You guys are smart enough. You guys watched the film. You guys are some experts. You guys can break the film down. I felt like I was open. I felt like there was some opportunities out there for me to make some plays. I just didn’t make them."
They went further and said if you were open and plays weren't made, who is to blame?
"I don't know," Owens said afterward. "You watched the game, didn't you? Who pulled the trigger? I’m just out there doing my job."
He was very clearly taking shots at Bledsoe the entire time and would follow every shot with "we win as a team and we lose as a team" or "Maybe I can do more" or something like that.

BTW, I'd just like to state for the record that your post above is a model of objectivity and fairness.
I didn't come here today to fight, so why start in?
I'm in a good mood, and you gotta fuck it up rehashing old fucking issues.

Also, although there were a few plays where Owens was open and Bledsoe didn't get him the ball due to pressure -- there were also MANY plays where an Eagles CB batted down or intercepted a ball that Owens otherwise would have caught even with the pressure. I thought the secondary (minus Mike Lewis and a couple S. Brown bad tackles) really brought their "A" game yesterday. That was a big difference between this game and the Giants game (which also had a lot of QB sacks/pressures but where receivers nonetheless were making catches when it counted because of poor CB play).
Another thing that amazed me - until that last second interference call, Terry Glenn was like the invisible man! I kept waiting for him to break out, especially since the Boys running game was going so well.

And as far as "owning up to what I said", I've NEVER backed down from what I said.
I STILL believe that Owens is the best WR in the game, and I still believe that McNabb has issues with his game. I've never changed anything or backed away from it. Wishy-washy my ass.

Well you're wrong about McNabb...there just isn't any other way to say that, Fred.
With Owens? He's definitely been the best in football for some time, but he doesn't look like it right now. I wouldn't say you're "wrong" about that at all, though. It's tough to tell if he's lost anything given the other issues on offense, new system, injuries, etc. We'll find out over the next year or two on that one.

I think Owens is probably the best receiver in football, but I think his non-Raider career is done after this year.

BTW, yesterday was Outfest. Let's just say that TO's name was mentioned quite frequently by the attendees
That's great.
You know, I got into the biggest argument with some guys in Tony Luke's yesterday. They asked me why I thought Owens was crazy, and I told them because he is contantly trying to suppress his homosexuality, and the pressure of living a lie is too immense. These guys were shocked. They had never heard anyone call T.O. a closet queen, and they refused to believe that an athlete of his stature could be gay. Amazing.
For the record, they also believe he did not try to kill himself.

You would think so, but Jerry Jones loves him too much. I think Parcells coaching days are definitely ending after this year because I can't see any way on Earth he'd ever coach "The Player" for another season.

I also get the impression that T.O. is safe with the Boys next year.
Jones still seems to be in love with him.

I don't think Jones is going to love TO all that much when his team is trying to break out of a 4 game spin because TO's calling out his coach, his QB, and the rest of the team in the media every week.
I hope I'm wrong. There's nothing I would love to see more than the Cowboys turn into the Redskins South. TO finishing his career in Dallas would be my wildest dream that doesn't involve Jessica Alba.

McNabb has issues, T.O. simply is an issue.
Of the two, I'd rather have the jovial, sometimes corny, occassionally jittery and inaccurate QB on the team I root for than . . . an egotistical, preening peacock who is obviously overcompensating for something and is even-money to cause disharmony/be more of a liability than an asset.
From that perspective, the choice seems obvious to me.
And to the gay thing . . there's a photo of him on SI or maybe ESPN, in uniform with a backwards baseball cap, his eyes bugged out and his lips pursed . . . If a photo ever said "FLAMING" it's that one.
And how can SnB say he's unimpressed with #5 . . . sounds like sour grapes.

I didnt say McNad had a bad game, just nothing that overly impressed me. There were a lot of throws that were in the ground or behind the reciever. Lots of dropped passes. He just doesnt seem to have a lot of touch on the ball. He guns it every time.
Dont get me wrong, he did enough yesterday to win it.
As for Bledsoe, yes there were times when he had time, but once he gets rattled he starts feeling the pressure even when its not there. This has been known for a long time about him. Trust me, for me it is very frustrating.
I look forward to the game in Dallas next time.

f-d said: Well you're wrong about McNabb...there just isn't any other way to say that, Fred.
In the game thread f-d said:
McNabb has flaws in his game and the biggest ones are:
- Sometimes he'll rifle one that doesn't need to be rifled. I think he's improved quite a bit on his touch, but he threw a couple bullet yesterday he could have thrown with more touch.
Now why does that sound familiar?
Because that's what I'VE been saying in here and getting ripped for. I mean, EXACT FREAKING ARGUMENT I said months ago, and I got ripped for it.
Can you see now why I get so frustrated up in here? And it's not because I have a victim mentality.

Who EVER disagreed with you on points like that?
Fact is, he's STILL (despite his flaws) leading the league in every meaningful passing category without the threat of a run game or a stud WR.
That's what you don't get. No player is flawless...they all some some kind of flaw or flaws.
McNabb can be flawed and still be the best in the NFL right now.

At least for him. At least he's figured out that if you're gonna make selfish, blame deflecting statments that may or may not be true, at least follow them up with a lie (in his mind) about how it's all about the team, etc., etc...
