The message being that he wanted me to leave, so I left.
The message was to stop being annoying. I like this site and everyone that posts here has something good to say at least some of the time. I can't think of anyone who hasn't added SOMETHING to the mix.

That guy gets the dubious double honor of being the first person to try to extort money from the 700Level (it's almost Xmas, so it's almost time for him to do it again), and the first person to have a function in the database named after him that looks for his posts, deletes them, and bans him. I have NO idea what his deal is.

Will the defendant please rise?
You lost your "case" even before uber et. al. responded because you can only think in a limited, linear fashion.
Color me shocked.

I'd like to walk areound with Sly in my breast pocket, then pull him out at parties and have him entertain people with insult comedy.
Nice work, Johnny.

Been a long, long time since I posted ... but this thread is just hard to pass up.
Photos taken in public places - such as a parking lot of a public club - do not require a release from the subjects before the photos can be published. That's basic journalism. Sorry about your luck on that one, Dsly.
As for libel because of an “injury to reputation” – according to the Associated Press Stylebook, the only complete defense is if the stated facts are provable. So, did Dsly look like a dumb ass in the jersey? That sort of answers itself.
Besides - any grown man who wears a jersey that freakin' big better have one helluva a sense of humor because he's gotta know that he's going to get busted on from start to finish.
Seth - Great interview - that's the reason I still read the Level even though I stopped posting.

I'm curious what everyone is doing in the parking lot standing really far away from each other.
Reminds me of the kids they put out there during the home run derby to shag fly balls.

How could you NOT know it was Seth in that interview?
It was like I was talking with him in the parking lot or reading one of his e-mails.

Time to get out the checkbook and pony up another contribution to The Level - a) to keep the bar open after hours, and b) to thank them for THE best thread ever.
Dsly told Michael Richards how to handle that situation.

Thongdar,
Michael Richards reference=NTF.
Texas,
While you are correct in noting that pictures taken while the photographer and his/her camera is on public property (like a street) that capture people on private property (even inside their homes) are completely legal.
I dont think that rule is applicable in this case b/c the event in question was on private property, (a VFW hall, if I'm not mistaken).
However, the burden of proof he would have to overcome (beyond proving that his name/reputation etc.) was tarnished is that he was unkowingly photographed without his consent (which from the look of the picture that doesn't appear to be the case as he is in the foreground and looking in the general direction of where the camera was, from which one can deduce that he was aware a picture was being takne and he didn't object).
If he cleared that hurdle, which I don't think he can, he then would have to show how that picture caused him specific, material harm, emotional trauma, loss of income, etc. to even amke a claim for damages.
As an outside oberserver, he looks like any number of middle aged guys (IN SUNGLASSES) you see on the streets of NE Phila.
So that's gone.
And the last thing is that he'd have to prove that he was damaged by the posting of his picture (which doesn't clearly identify him) on a web site with a finite audience.
It's jsut not there.

You know you guys can be SO cruel sometimes?
Did anyone ever stop to think the reason why Sly had to buy the biggest Jerome Brown jersey ever made (no, Jerome's wasn't even that big) because that's the only way he'd fit that Gigantor-of-a-head thru the little hole on top?
I mean, LOOK at the size of that thing.
It's ENORMOUS.
