I like seeing TO not catch balls, especially when it is all his own fault.

I like it when they go for it. Good spirit. It's even better when they fail... too bad their TE? caught the ball.

Strahan/Subway commercial: Michael S laughs like a retard... not that it's a bad thing... but the fact that Jared shows him up in terms of acting talent? For shame.

I actually feel bad for Romo. That has to really hurt to know you single-handledly lost the game. Just like the kicker that knocked the colts out of the playoffs with an easy kick.
But I heard that it's a double-mistake for Romo. That if he hadn't fumbled at the end of his run, they would have had the first down, and a fresh set of downs to try again.
Can anyone confirm that?

Wow. Just wow. What a great game of football, regardless of the teams. Having the losing team be the Cowboys is great, but mainly as an afterthought.
Tough luck from Romo. He just went from hero to goat in a span of a few seconds. And now he has MONTHS to hear about it. The guy deserves a little better - why couldn't Owens be the holder on kicks?
Oxford: I had the same thought. Was that even a fumble? He looked down to me. But fumble or simple loss of downs, either way he was well short of the first down.

With the way the refs often seem to spot the ball a little bit ahead, and the fact that the yellow line is not official, it's quite possible that the nose of the ball might have just made first down. To me on the replay it looks like there is a point where the ball almost makes it.

You may chalk this up to anti-Cowboy spite, but I think that the way that this loss went down may have a profound effect on the Cowboys for a while. Not just in the way that it was a heart-wrenching loss, but rather that the lynchpin of the defeat centered around the one guy that is looked upon as being the Moses for a franchise looking to find its way out of the wilderness. The fact that the snap was good and the placement was botched tells me that Romo was thinking hard about the significance of his role in the play. He tightened up and cost his team in a crucial situation. Why? Perhaps he was thinking about the last time he cost his team a victory in a similar situation (see last week). Yes, perhaps a little weathering as an NFL QB may smooth all of this out, but the way I see it, he let the demons loose inside and that cost him and his team the opportunity to advance. As a postscript, at the podium, Romo was beyond reticent and taking the loss completely on himself.
It's said that time heals all, but I have to think that Romo has, in very short fashion, come up against the thing that may be his biggest nemesis...himself. He's got the entire offseason to work it out, but the way I'm seeing it, the guy that I saw at the podium won't put this away as a learning step in an NFL career. He's likely to hear it's echoes for a long, long time.

Well put.
Another take?
Boniol/Hutton revenge- served colder, harsher, harder, sharper, rawer, bloodier, gloomier, deader, duller, danker than a simple regular season loss on MNF with that Cowboy lovin' Micheals callin the whole thing.

Rather humorous, considering how quickly this guy put it together following the loss.
Must have all his tailgate gear loaded up in his pick up already....

Seth, another thing that makes it interesting is the fact that it was EXACTLY THE SAME SCORE with the EXACT SAME PBP MAN (Michaels) as the meltdown in 1997.

It's not just the loss...the way they lost was perfect.
In his last game as a Cowboy, Owens was awful as usual.
Ware, the next LT (according to most pundits) picks up tackle while getting completely owned by Walter Jones.
Romo, the next Unitas, Favre, Montana, Young, loses the game in the worst way possible.
What a great night. The only thing that would have made it better would have been the Pillsbury Slowboy (#31) being further exposed on national TV, but he got the gift INT.
All told, it was a really exciting game and fun to watch. The way it ended was PERFECT, though (for anyone who doesn't wear 5 plastic rings and shoot into the air after weddings and on Holidays).

There isn't another thread, but WTF is up with Manning. They cruised thanks to the defense (who would have ever thought we'd be saying that), but Manning did his best to give another one away.
What is it with this guy and the playoffs?
He's the best QB in the universe and will probably go down as the best regular season QB of all time, but he just can't play when the pressure is on.

"That if he hadn't fumbled at the end of his run, they would have had the first down, and a fresh set of downs to try again. "
ox
it was the first ting i thought about as soon as the play was over. was the replay booth gonna say he was down, and spot the ball for a 1st down.
so i watched the replay several times with my DVR. if you recall the play before, on the Witten completion/review, they had to get just inside the one yd line for the first down, and replay spotted Witten just outside the one. after watching the replay again and again, i thought romo's forward progress was just outside the one, short by about 2 feet.
