The only thing that would have made it better would have been the Pillsbury Slowboy (#31) being further exposed on national TV, but he got the gift INT.

But perhaps the INT is another hapy accident of the day, giving cred to an otherwise aged player who can now be exploited for another season.

No matter what happens this afternoon, I'm thrilled that Me-O and the Boys exited the playoffs first.

EFF him . . . I hope Parcells returns to the Boys next year on the condition that TO be banished and Jerry Jones finally comes to his senses and cuts the asshole loose.

Ko0l-aid grinning from ear-to-ear . . . I couldn't be happier right now.

I had 150 two team parlay.

Indy -7

and...

Cowboys +1 1/2

Couldnt stand rooting for the cowboys, and it was pure ecstasy hitting the bet as the 'boys lose by 1 point.

I am still estatic that the boys lost in the way that they did.

Romo, the over-nite sensation, is still a rook. Boo effin who.

What is up with all the levelers feeling sorry for the guy? Did you feel sorry for Aikman getting brutalized by Reggie and Co his rookie season?

Now, I'm not saying Romo is a complete fraud, but this guy is getting a pass from ESPN like he's a 7 time Pro Bowler.

Michael Irvin said "This is going to be the moment in his career that makes him great. He has that greatness inside of him and this will propel him to greatness"

Jaws said: "He will be a great player and let's not forget that this was a special teams mistake. As a QB, he played very, very well in this game"

Ditka said: "He will get past this and so will the Cowboys because he is their franchise QB and he will be astar and leader of that organiation for years to come"

Ummm....what the fuck is the matter with these people?

This is a 27 year old guy from nowhere university who is 6-5 as a starter in his career. Bledsoe, who was benched for awfulness, was 3-2.

He's single handedly lost a couple games this season (including his playoff game). After the first couple games he played, the league got film on him and he didn't play particularly well.

He's fumbled an amazing 11 times in 11 games. Take away 1 game on Thanksgiving where he was lights out with an amazing 5 TDs, and this guy has a total of 14 TD and 13 INTs.

He and Bledsoe split the Giants game right down the middle, so we'll throw that one out.

He did it all with arguably the best offensive arsenal in the game.

I'm not trying to kill the guy because he look like a gamer, but what did I miss...why is this guy a "can't miss superstar"?

He's looking more like a Jake Delhomne to me. A solid starter who can win some games for you. Plays with great emotion. Got a later start to his career, but is a good competitor who can do more than manage games at times.

I just don't get when this guy became a can't-miss stud.

I agree with that. Everyone says that Romo has a long career ahead of him. He will be 27 in April! Most teams start looking for replacements once their QB hits 30. Will he ever have as good of a supporting cast as he does now on offense? Will he ever be able to change his side arm delivery and daunte culpepper-esque fumbling? I think teams are now on to him. I haven't seen him have a good game in at least a month.

Same goes for Manning. He is already 26 and people are talking like this guy is 20. When McNabb was 26 he had done far more with far less on offense than either Manning or Romo.

Merriment and glee and as usual, some good points all around.

Seth, I was there that Monday nite when the same type of thing happened to the Eagles on MNF and thought about the karma of that game this morning as well.

Hooky, you've articulated my worst fears about the effect of this loss on the Dallas franchise and specifically Romo's state of mind. I don't care what Irvin, Jaws or Ditka has to say about how 'he'll bounce back cause he's a star'. These are simply opinions of guys that they are paid to offer them up. No one really knows Tony Romo's make-up and the strength (or lack) of his mental resolve, but I guess we're going to find out.

About six weeks ago Parcell's said we'd find out what kind of guy Tony is when he's got a bloody nose and everything has blown up on him. Tony's post-game press conference has me thinking this will be much tougher for him to shake than his recent inconsistancies have been. He has taken the entire weight of this loss on his sholders when there were plenty of other mistakes and opportunities missed. My hope is that the trip to Hawaii and maybe the fellowship of some of the other veteran Pro Bowlers might bring some healing for him.

Of the post-game interviews, I was most surprised at how TO came off. One announcer even said that if you didn't know who he was and just saw the interview, you'd think he was an 'all world teammate'. A temporary lapse in his personality I'm sure and by the time training camp rolls around, he'll be back to his usual bullshit, if he's even here.

That we don't know if Tony can shake this off raises so many questions. With the uncertainty of the coaching position (as well as the QB), it's safe to say things could be a mess here for some time.

Congrats on advancing in the playoffs. Living in Austin, I'll be looking for fellow Austinite Drew Brees and his crew to dispense with your squad.

Actually, I'm too spent right now to give a damn either way.

Interview with Jerry Jones about the Dallas QB situation:

"I'm real positive about where we are at quarterback," Jones said. "Understanding how the NFL is today, then my sense is that we have an excellent opportunity to be a contender next year."

Funny thing is, I remember Jones saying this about Quicy Carter, Chad Hutchinson, Drew Henderson, Vinny Testatverde and Drew Bledsoe.

Anyway, talk about brutal, check out the SI.com poll. Romo is ahead (it's close) in voting for "Who is the biggest goat in NFL playoff history?".

"Understanding how the NFL is today, then my sense is that we have an excellent opportunity to be a contender next year."

I guess this means he 'understands' how to build a team in this age of the salary cap. Wish he'd just shut up and prove it. Jerry uses so much verbiage to say so little.

Okay, so he's committed to Romo. Now what to do about a back-up QB, a safety or two that can cover and the other various needs on both sides of the ball...

Kinda boring, but thanks for digging that up for us Dave.

At this point, I'd rather have Tony than Eli. True, we don't know if he's a 'can't miss stud', but like FD said he's a gamer and has given the Boys more chances to win than not.
