He's signed through next season so its not really the same as Seau. Junior knew than San Diego didnt want him anymore. So he retired without even thinking about who else would have wanted him IMO. Once he found that he actually did have some value to someone else he came back. With Tiki, he has already signed a $10 million contract with ABC/Disney to work on Good Morning America. He's done.

Yup. I'm sure they'll address the position with a top draft pick or a FA signing (Michael Turner?), but I'm thrilled to see him go. He's murdered the Eagles over the years.

Is Jacobs a possible #1 back? Not sure if he is a true #1 or if his only role is a big change of pace back.

He's a nothing back.

He's an average goal line back, but he runs too tall to fully take advantage of his power, he takes a ton of big hits because of his runnig style, and he's been reported to make Ryan Moats look like a mensa candidate.

He's intriguing because of his size, but he'll never be a feature back, IMO.

I think if Coughlin goes, he may rethink his retirement, a la Seau. I think he hates the way Coughlin coaches, hates the Coughlin rules, hates everthing Coughlin. I think that's why he's so quick to throw him under the bus.

No more Coughlin? Then I think he might change his mind and stay. That also means Tiki and Schlockey and Burress and the rest of the inmates are running the asylum. It also means he's a bitch.

I agree with f-d and don't think Jacobs can handle the load AT ALL, and I was really amused driving back to NJ after the game Sunday night and listening to The Fan and hearing them talk about GMs and DBs, without mentioning the RB situation. Thank you, idiot Vagiant staff and fans alike.

Tiki isn't coming back. He already has a contract signed with Good Morning America, ABC/ESPN.

Tiki realizes that this team is getting worse instead of better, and without him there, they have no shot at providing a balanced attack. Jacobs won't provide a balanced run game (no outside running ability) therefore they will need to draft/sign someone with that ability. With their draft selection, they'll either have to draft amazingly well or get lucky, which I see neither happening. Couple that with Mini Manning's monsterous year and the Gmen aren't a team that can pull him out of it.

He's taken a lot of hits, and he wants to walk (literally) away from the game while he still can. I've always respected him (he's a good guy and an amazing talent) and I'm glad he's going to be gone for both himself and for the division.
