Oh and while you are all scouring over their offensive weapons, how about the easiest way to stop them is to keep them off the field?
Shorten the game, grind it out on the ground, dink and dunk them to death and make it a slugfest. Take the crowd out of the game and win a ugly one. I don't want to get into a track meet with them at home with the refs and media on their side.

It would be a windfall if they could keep the Saints off the board on their first drive and take a lead for once.

I just don't know what to make of him at this point. I know he's good, I know he's going to be very good, and I know the Eagles need to keep an eye on him, but the power of McAllister (against this defense) scares me more than the speed of Bush, I guess.
In December, he did blow it up:
- 168 yards 4 TD
- 162 yards 1 TD
- 33 yards 0 TD
- 149 yards 1 TD
- 43 yards TD

Don't I know it. Let is be known, Frank Gore is one of my keeper's for next season. He's the 3rd RB keeper I'm going to try after failing with McAllister and Ronnie Brown.

Well, after it's over Wilma can rejoice.
Plus, beating the Saints in their "comeback" season after Katrina would practically be black on black crime.

For some reason, Brees plays worse in the dome than on the road. That's something to be hopeful about.

I watched it off and on in between other games. From what I saw, New Orleans pretty much beat themselves with a lot of mistakes.

Never mind, Colston did play.
FWIW, here's ESPN's write-up
"The Redskins' defense did an outstanding job of disrupting the rhythm and flow of the Saints' offensive schemes. Defensive coordinator Greg Williams should get a tremendous amount of credit for using an assortment of blitz schemes that placed a lot of pressure on QB Drew Brees (above). The Redskins were very physical on the back end with their coverage schemes, which took away the explosive elements in the Saints' passing attack."

I don't think the D had a single sack on Brees in the regular season game.
WRONG - Johnson! They had a nice sack on the final drive of the game - only to have negated by having 12 men on the field.
Eagles have very little shot to win this game. Very little. I honestly can't see them doing it unless Brees gets sloppy with the ball and they have a huge advantage with turnovers.

All that stuff may be true, but I bet on the Skins that week because it was one of those games you KNEW was going to be a giant letdown.
Dallas had just beaten Indy (I think) and had been declared "the team to beat" in teh NFL. The Saints went into Dalls and destroyed them.
They instantly were the latest "team to beat" in he NFC and they came home the next week and had the lowly, sucky Skins coming into town.
I don't want to take anythig away from the Skins, but I remember EAG and I talking about that game early in the week as a "must bet" because it had the classic look of a trap game for the Saints.

f-d, I remember you saying that week on here that the Skins would win.
It got me thinking to a conversation I had with some friends how it's weird that you can just tell what's going to happen in sports sometimes. Not every week, but a game like that Skins-Saints game comes up, and you just know the Skins are going win, despite all logic.

The only weeks I made any money on the NFL this year was betting dumb games like that. The trap was the only trend that really held up this year, IMO.

OH, the other trend that held up was Miami can't win in Buffalo during the month of December. Even if it's 55 degrees.
That one cost me a 5 team parlay. Ugh.

The Eagles do have a shot at winning, but they have to play mistake free from the opening whistle. If they start like they did against the Giants, it's going to be a long afternoon.
Also, the team had problems getting to Eli last game, and if they can't get to Brees, he'll pick them apart.
This game calls for JJ to call the game of his life and not get stupid like he did on New York's last drive. There's going to be a ton of emotion in this game already, and it's not any better that Payton owns JJ. (Sidenote - thought the reason NO wanted to beat up on Dallas so badly was Payton used to be Parcells' OC).
With Reid acknowledging he needed to run the ball more the last time, they'll keep running to the right and just let Andrews and Runyan mow people down.
Right now, it looks to be an offensive slugfest on paper, which means it'll probably end 17-14.

In December, he did blow it up:
- 168 yards 4 TD
- 162 yards 1 TD
- 33 yards 0 TD
- 149 yards 1 TD
- 43 yards TD
Those numbers look deceptive to me.
12/3: Toss out the three "pad the stats because his Subway Bush Tracker print ad looks utterly pathetic every week" rushing TDs, as those were all specialty goal line subs if I recall. Monster receiving game, lackluster on the ground.
12/10: Only 5 carries for a 21 yds on the ground if you toss out the long run of 16 yds. Another monster receiving game. Against Dallas. And Colston was either out or very gimpy if FF knowledge serves, so he was actually a receiving target.
12/17: Weak all around against the skins. 7 for 14 yds, long of 9 on the ground. Toss otu the long 15 yd reception and he's 4 for a whopping 4 yds in the air.
12/24: Great game for Bush against the Giants, no sugarcoating. Doesn't look like garbage time, either. And while looking at the play-by-play stats, the second half gets interesting as the Saints swap off the two backs over and over. McAllister run, Bush run, McAllister run, Bush run, etc. They don't stay that way, but I they don't appear to have any qualms about it. Then later they go back to giving a RB a series at a time. Of note is that the TD is another goalline 1 yarder.
12/31: Game didn't matter, so hard to use the stats eitehr way. You can say that they held him out. You can also say that he wasn't great when he got the ball. Toss this one out. And where did Bush's TD come from? Say it with me now: "1 yd TD." Stat padding at its finest.
From that, I say Bush is a real threat when split wide. Other than that, he's a standard #2 RB. I wouldn't even fear him at the goalline since I don't think they would give him the ball over Duece in the playoffs...unless the game is already out of hand for the Eagles.
