The Dallas game, they weren't too interested in running, since it was more fun to burn Roy Williams on national TV. Can't argue with that logic.

Payton did his homework, and aside from Julius Jones' long TD run, the Cowboys were manhandled pretty easily, mostly through the air.

But I think that's the threat with Bush.

Throw the last game out because he barely played and they didn't need it.

In the rest of the games, he was handled (completely) in a game where their entire team failed showed up one time.

With the 3 games left in December, he had two 100 yard receiving efforts, a 100 yard rushing game.

I'm not "crownin' his ass", but (and I didn't realize this until just now) his 88 catches and 742 receiving yards on the season would both be career highs for Westbrook, who's no slouch as a WR.

We're on the same page, then.

I thought you were backing both portions of KB's second half splits:

Second 8 Games

74 rushes/358 yards/4.8 ypc/6 TD
42 catches/430 yards/10.2 yc/2 TD

I guess my point is that you can toss out the ground numbers and most of the TDs. He's far more likely to be an air threat.

I think so. I'm not worried abotu him as a "RB" or a "WR". I'm worried about him as a guy who will eat yardage all day like a pre-2006 Westbrook (This seasn, Westbrook moved beyond a yardage eater, IMO) and has big play speed.

Let him run all he wants, as I don't think he's all that special back there. If they can bump him or catch him in a poor route as a WR, that's where it will show up. Open space is where he seems to thrive and is the most dangerous.

In regards to why the Superbowl is on Sunday... that's easy. It's the same reason the regular games of the NFL - the most popular sport - is played on Sundays.

Satan controls the media and wants to keep as many people as possible out of church.

I'm a little late here, but can you guys give the Conspiracy/Persecution talk a rest for one f'ing week? If it's not "Golden Boy" Mike Vick, the ratings the Giants might get, the sympathy for Katrina Survivors, blah, blah, blah. It boggles my mind that anyone, especially PRIOR to any contest would think that the refs whether subconsciously or at the implicit or explicit direction of the league would have some sort of predisposition to what team they were going to favor.

Unbef'inglievable.

No, but I've heard of Penn State Whining Fans that Think the Big 10 is against them. And this smacks of the same thing.

Nova is not a member of that group, BTW. And not necessarily any other PSU fans here but some of their message boards are brutal with that stuff.

Ok, sorry, best comparison I could make, back to Pro.

Sidetracking a bit, but with all the fantasy football press that Colston got, this fact somehow slipped by me:

Rookie Marques Colston, who was the fourth-to-last pick in the NFL Draft,

No wonder the Redskins are so excited about keeping only their late round picks...

Misc Saints roster moves:

Removed: Fred McAfee and some random DE
Added: Hollis Thomas (fresh from 4-game suspension), Billy Cundiff (just for kickoffs, was cut week 16 for depth)

That, and Horn is questionable, just like the last 29 weeks.

since that october game between the birds and saints, the saints are 5-5. The Eagles are 6-4 or 7-4 if you count the playoff game. I think that this is a pretty even match. Seems like everyone is talking as if this Saints team went 14-2.

I could be wrong, but I'm not seeing anyone say the powers that be are out to get the Birds here.

Whether you want to strap on your tinfoil hat or not is one ting, but I don;t think anyone is saying the NFL, refs, or anyone else is "out to get the Eagles".

they are both played last-place schedules and they did well without any real "statement" wins, IMO, after all is said/done and looked at.

I think the biggest matchup here is Sean Payton vs. Franchise history.

Well, that's where the tinfoil hat comes into play.

Set isn't saying the Refs are out to get the Eagles...he's saying he thinks the refs will be on the Saints side.

You can debate whether or not that's crazy, but I think he's sayign that would have been true no matter who the Saints were playing.

I'm not sure about any of the crazy theories, BTW. I think the 6 days rest thing is just odd and I'm fishing for an explanation "out loud", so to speak.

As for Vick...I'm just glad I was knowledgeable, passionate, and loyal enough to figure out that game from day 1.

Though I do have to admit that Ron Mexico was a welcome happenstance.
