So I see that Runyan has been fined a whopping $19,000 for his late hit in the NY game last week. And, of course, the media keeps playing the film over and over again.

But I have to ask -

HAS ANYONE NOTICED THE PUNCHES THAT SHORT WAS THROWING? Watch the film again and you'll see NY's Short throwing a punch into LJ Smith's kidneys as he's laying on the ground. How many more punches would he have gotten in if Runyan hadn't run over the top of them? And how many punches had been thrown by those dirty Giants prior to that play that may have frustrated Runyan.

It's always interesting to see the media NOT SEE the whole picture when it comes to NY.

I went back and checked that play on TiVo after hearing about the punches. It's pretty clear on the tape that the Giants defender is punching LJ in the back for no reason than to get in a cheapshot.

It had nothing to do with Runyan's actions, but it was still pretty obvious on the tape. Heated tempers over little stuff like that likely lead up to Runyan's decision during the game.

This is how he plays the game. The fine won't stop him doing this again.

Shit, the RBs and WRs should probably pass the hat and pay for the fine.

If Runyon's actions make another defender think twice about a cheap shot, it's a Hell of an investment.
