What's with the hate for Lewis? He's good in his current role. Last year showed he isn't a #1 or #2, but he's been pretty darn good doing what he's done 2 of the last 3 years

I think it's lingering resentment for his implosion in 2005, but that wasn't really his fault.
I thought Lewis was good in his current role, but there is also the underlying issue that he's a negative, cancerous guy in the locker room.
It's been mentiond a few times by Chris McPherson (Future-Spadaro)...the guy isn't a good or happy guy. he's a shitbag who talks trash, hangs his head, and spread negativity.
I'm not saying they shoudl dump him, but I don't think the team or coaches really like him.

Yeah, but everone here is complaining about him from a production standpoint. That's all I'm talking about, the talk that he's useless.

Oh...I don't think he's useless at all. I think he's quick and as a #4 or #5 WR, he's a great fit.
You also have the advantage of knowing exactly what he is, since they mistekenly overestimated him GREATLY going into 2005. They won't ever be confused by his "potential".

Exactly, and a lot of that "potential" was predicated on him playing across from TO, and that's only b/c Pinkston was hurt.
But, in his current role, he's good. He had some big catches this year.

Choppahs is a guy you can throw to in certain spots and as a #4 speed guy. He is NOT a #1 receiver or a team rally guy. When the times get tough and the bullets fly he folds like cheap lawn furniture.
I dont like him because he is a T.O jock sniffer. JMO.

Nah, I rag on G-Lew because he's an example of the crap the team tried to shovel down our throats. For what he is (a #4 at best), he gets the job done. But like we argued a while ago - no sense in losing sleep over the #4 receiver on this squad.
Pretty soon we'll be hearing lots of stuff about Jason Avant and his "breakaway" speed.

And it is a given that Garcia will not enjoy the same success as a starter as he did for the past 2 months. Nuh-uh. Not gonna happen.

Mark it down.....if Stallworth leaves, the FO or Spuds will say how good Lewis played in the same sentence!
He also mentioned how goos Avant looked? Ummm...I remember two plays with Avant....a Huge fumble that cost the Eagles early in the Bucs game, and a 20 yard gain on a reverse of a kick off.....ummm yeah....

I want to see him bulk up a whole lot, start wearing all black, and walk around quoting obtuse existential philosophers. Then we will have the perfect position for Avant: Guard.

Avant WILL be proposed "the solution" is Stallworth signs elsewhere...it will be sad how hard they pimp him.

Having watched him throughout his college career, I have to say Avant is the furthest thing from Stallworth I can imagine.

I have no problem with Avant and was happy they drafted him, but he's a #3 WR in the NFL, right? Based on everything I've seen, heard, and read he just doesn't have the footspeed to play on the outside in the NFL.

So we're going to have another FredEx in the slot, only with worse hands, average speed, and limitless pimping?
No thanks.

For the record, Avant is supposed to have some of the best hands in the league, though he did manage to drop one of the 4 passes thrown to him this year and fumble another.

Avant has good-to-great hands, runs pretty solid routes, isn't afraid to go over the middle-- I could go on and on, but just imagine all the things you hear about guys with limited physical gifts.
His foot speed isn't the best, but he's not glaringly slow. You're just not going to see him blow by the coverage by 10 yards as you saw at times with Stallworth. You're also not going to see him milk the same injury for weeks at a time, however.

Never thought he was "glaringly slow", but he's not as fast as the Eagles brass would have you to believe.
And they would have you to believe he was a perfect fusion of Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison.

He's not. He's a good player, and a hard worker who could probably contribute to an offense. That's all. I mean, there's a reason he was picked in the 4th round and saw about what, 2-3% of the snaps this year on offense? That might even be generous.

The guys who are interesting to me are Vickers and the Aussie punter (his contract still hasn't arrived from Austrailia, so the Eagles can't oficially announce it until then).
Vickers is a 6'6" 270 lb. coverted defensive end. I have no idea what kind of player he could be as a TE, but it's interesting to me.

Kobel seems like an interesting signing as well. I would love to see a 6' 2", 265lb. fullback leading the way for Westbrook.
