Honestly, Dean-o, what would you expect the players to say, especially the defensive players? If the defensive players said Reid made the wrong call, they would effectively be admitting what we all know is true: they cannot stop the run.

This team is not the New York Giants. They're not going to throw their coach under the bus after a loss, even if they know their coach made the wrong call.

Andy makes Charlie look BRILLANT!

This is what pisses me off about this team -

When Andy clearly made a mistake, no one seems to want to call him on the carpet for it, and the company spokesperson says we should "get over it". Of course, they're still getting over that stadium deal in 99, but that's not the point of this post.

Why is it so hard to say that Reid made a mistake, yet he's still a good coach and it would be foolish to see him fired? If Rich likes to "play the numbers", as it seems like most of the media is saying nowadays, why now? The playoffs, if anything, are about bucking trends and going for the gusto, because there is no tomorrow. Playing it safe only has you watching the SB from home, and it's ludicrous that the media is actually accepting this strategy, when the mantra of Philly sports is to go down swinging.

No one wants to drop blame on Reid for making a gutless, stupid decision (especially when he was justifying Baskett throwing a pass in Indy as "always staying aggressive"), especially a decision that's contrary to what we've seen the coach do.

The outcome of the game or even a BYU player costing them a 4th and 10 doesn't annoy me as much as the defense for Reid in a decision that, if anything, brings back thoughts of Reid not adjusting during a game.

Between the two shows, ... DNL & MNL three players were asked the question. (Trotter, Runyan and Hood.) All had the same response; Punt, ... put the game in the hands of the defense.

Dean-o, please explain to me how going for it and not making it is not ALSO putting the game in the hands of the defense. The difference is, you don;t take the game OUT of the hands of the offense first.

(I know, ... they're all toeing the company line and are retards.)

Good, you finally get it.

Unfortunately, I think we're all going to have to be resigned to a simple fact around here.

FB + 10 years = Marty Schottenheimer

His inexplicable refusal to ever adjust on game, reverting to 2-1 pass/run ratio in most crucial game of year, and poor clock management all point to 10 more years of Martyball.

and I guess losing the SB to the team of the decade by 3 points means he will never win the big one as well. what a bum. I prefer the 3-13 days to all these double digit win seasons and playoff births which gives you the shot at winning the championship..oh wait, guess I'm an apologist..either that or I enjoy winning football and realize just how good we have it.

FB continues to lose ALL playoff games in which the other team isn't completely overmatched.

The only two games he's won by a margin of 3 points or less are Green Bay (which they should've lost) and the Giants this year, which they tried their best to lose and should've won by a lot more.

Simple fact is FB gets out-coached regularly in the playoffs, and will continue to get out-coached in the playoffs. Is it better to be in the playoffs than be 3-13? Yes. Should one settle for just *being* in the playoffs every year? NO!

Why didn't we start stacking the line like crazy when it was obvious the Saints were gonna mash it down our throats? Why didn't we run on 2nd and 1?

FB will continue to make gaffes in the playoffs, and we will continue to suffer under Andyball. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't believe so.

Oh yeah, in that SB you refer to, why didn't FB go after the rookie who had to be inserted at safety in the 2nd half? Probably wouldn't have lost by 3 if he'd have adjusted before 2 minutes left in the game.

I'll get off FB's back once he stops doing his Scarecrow impersonation.
He's paid to do better.

Huh? How can you possibly even write that when won a playoff game this year on a last minute field goal?

COme on sarge, that is just silly.

Why do we have to take it to the extreme whenever someone talks about Reid? Does it mean that if/when he leaves they'll automatically become 3-13 again? IN fact, this team has had only one 3-13 year recently.

His track record speaks for itself. But let's not assume that the team will be in the toilet for the next 20 years if/when he leaves.

And one more thing - in that SB, he really demonstrated on a national stage that he is loathe to adjust to what the opponent is doing on the field. If anything, the Preposterous Punt confirmed that, as the D was getting gashed all over the place.
