He won a title. That's the only way McNabb can get the nay-sayers off his back.
No doubt. That's the only way he'll ever get the real credit he deserves here.
Cataldi will declare "We had out doubts, but are glad we've been proven wrong" and all of his retarded mafia would follow suit.
Part of the reason I'm open to the idea of trading McNabb is because I'm not 100% sure he can ever "win" here anymore. Between the pressure, team strategy, and ill will...I'm just not sure he and the Eagles wouldn't be better off parting ways if it made sense for both sides.

MSLEWIS KID- yea, he is. Not D&D dork prolly- but I was tryin to illustrate several examples of those who I would assume, most here (if honest) made fun of at 1 time or another.
Proving the human nature tendency where the 'minor things' McNabb is criticized for.
And I have been accused on here of bein an apologist for 5 many times. I still would only want a couple QBs over him, and STILL like him and what he can do on gamedays.
I have NO TIME for oversensitive jerks with a chip on their shoulder and who cannot grow with age/supposed maturity and try to make strides to change the current perception that he himself beleives is THE overriding sentiment of his teams' fanbase.
Doesnt help that Momma & Poppa don't lead by example- openly harboring a grudge from 99.

Cataldi and Asskiss aren't to be taken seriously, anyway.
Neither will be any media outlet that dares to question a QB after he won a Super Bowl, including Manning.
Since most of them (unfairly) criticize QBs' performances, it's fitting that it stops when the QB achieves what is considered (also, unfairly) the "Excalibur" of NFL lore.

FD- when you cite Cataldi, you fall into the same trap 5 does.
Disregard that loser, that station, and go with what you SEE.
You think if McNabb ever did something as outreaching as go to a Forman Mills for an autograph nite, the line around the block wouldnt QUADDRUPPLE that of Garcias back in December?
Stop.

Regarding Cataldi, you seriously, seriously overestimate the average Eagles fan.
Seriously.
You can watch any show on comcast, any time a local news team interviews fans on the street, etc.
The average Philly fan is a fucking idiot.

It should be noted that rather than try to 'man up' and move on- he took yesterday as yet ANOTHER opportunity to throw the collective fanbase under the bus.
Not once.
Not twice.
But 3 times by my count.
WHAT THE HELL!? I felt for the most part, he said 'all the right things' - but drawin comparisons / reminded Jeffy that at 1st- he WASNT well received, he too was booed.
He mentioned their 'love' for AJ (still stinging from 05 methinks).
Griped about no T Shirts being made of him (Which is just outright false).

Seth,
Can you see how it might be hard for McNabb to forget things like the draft when dumb shit like that keeps happening over and over again? Philly has spent the last 2 weeks MAKING UP issues! Trade rumors, McNabb wants Garcia out, etc.
I don;t disagree that McNabb needs to forget a lot of stuff and move on. But maybe if the DUMB shit were to stop at some point, it might be easier for McNabb to get past it.

The T-shirt thing he didn't gripe about...he was saying that in the context of "Peope are saying I'm jealous because they made a t-shirt for him and not me...that's ridiculous".
The other two were direct, accurate shots at the moron element of the fan base he has to deal with.
What's the matter Eagles fans...can't take the heat. Are you a bunch of fucking babies!
Holla!

- Dino.
Wrong.
Mark Eckel and a national website known for wild inaccurracies started this.
NOT THE FANS.
I think YOURE overestimating the fans.
FD- I think the thing you mention about the fans has some merit- those dolts you see on that Monday nite live show or whatever its called, or the douchebag who cried, or the doof in the shoulder pads etc- yes, they are morons and discredit the fanbase.
BUT they are NOT the majority. NO SIR.

Like it or hate it, Eckel is one of the most reconized names in Philly sports and WIP is most accessible form of media in Philly.
When Eckel writes a story like that, WIP confirms it, and Peter King writes "Where there's smoke, there's fire" in a national column a couple days later, there is a very large number of people who take it as fact, even though the people really obsesively tuned into the Eagles are not fooled.

"The average Philly fan is a fucking idiot. "
NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.
seth, i know your a 5 guy. I wish he could be less sensitive, as we all do. I simply don't see the benefit of CONSTANTLY hammering the guy from a-z. I dont see the point of , it reeks of envy, frustration and jealousy. The majority of Eagles fans are fucking idiots who couldn't tell the difference between a cover 2 and a nickel package. they will watch a game at the stadium/or Tv and consider themselves an expert of the game and unload bullshit/half ass criticism of completely irrelevant aspects of the game. This opinion than carries over the radio and message boards and somehow becomes the "pulse" of the eagles fan base. This gets back to the players and they (rightfully so) think the fans are smoking crack and complete assholes. Some of them (5) take it to seriously and believe its a vendetta against them when it infact a bunch of assholes who dont know shit

I was (maybe Im alone?) talking about the disconnect he continues to foster and allow to cloud his own actions/words , that he has with THE FANS.
Much of FDs argument is how the fans rip him. I never saw the Inky bust on his dancing- but ive seen it here for example.
PHILLY did not do a thing.
The MEDIA did. If anything, that makes HALF of what his agent (whose income is upported by the man he's defending- how noble)said accurrate.

Yup. Exhibit A? This thread.
That's the thing, though. I think most of the people on this board, whether they agree with each other or not, know what they are talking about. This board is a small cross-section of the fan base, though.
Go to the Eagles mssage board with 1 million members and you'll see pretty quickly that about 99% of that million are drooling morons.
I still think Philly fans are smarter on average than the normal fan base, but that still leaves plenty of room for the majority to pretty much be morons.

What's it gonna take guys? Would you guys feel better if you could pen a letter to McNabb and extend your side of the story, even offer to sit down with him in a round table forum to clear up some of the misconceptions?
What would he have to lose by accepting your offer?
Truth is McNabb gives a crap what the fans think and he doesn't give a crap what the fans think. If he did maybe he'd take you up on an offer.
You guys have a voice via 700level.com, albeit a small voice, but a voice none the less. Maybe you could use it to coddle him from the fan base too.
Wow... where the hell did that cockamamy idea come from?
Feel free to ignore me, just thinking out loud.

I also love how Mcnabb is a super-sensitive baby who takes anything said to him from Philadelphia like a 2-yr old baby with a poop in his pants, yet the fan base who equally responds to his "SLIGHTS" sits here and cries bloody murder because their QB doesn't love them enough.
Hypocrisy at the highest level.
