Well, for those worried about a QB controversy...I wouldn't be. Kinda sounded like he wasn't planning on being back.
When asked about his future he said: "I had a great time in Philly, but they have a QB coming back and I have to weigh my options"
He then said someting like "Hopefully we can get something done, but I definitely want to see what's out there"

Did his beard show up?
I just wonder why they had him on? Why not one of the bigger names that went out Sunday? Bush, Brady etc:

The shirt on the Rocky statue was, um.......what's the word....? Synonymous with "happy"...
Anyway, I got that vibe, too. He looked like he was having a really tough time trying to put it into words when he was asked if he'd be back next year.
Of course, Eagles' brass will assume that Feeley can do the same thing, and that way it allows Neckbeard to stay on the roster, like keeping Midol for Akers.

I'd like Garcia back, but I think the loss of Cocksuckerfaceworth is going to sting a little more.

But on the bright side, Avant looks to be a horrific, horrific player. Or did I get that switched up somehow...

I read somethig interesting in his bio on the Eagles site.
Apparently, Avant's feet were actually blessed by Hermes at birth. His mother was told that at age 25, he will become faster and more powerful than the Trireme.
So, unless someone has evidence that he isn't touched by the Gods, I'm going to assume we have ourselves a keeper.
In fact, this information in hand, wouldn't the Eagles be MORONS to re-sign Stallworth?

They'd be morons to keep any WR execpt Avant, with his newfound speed. Better to cut the rest and invest in short running back propects.

Another thing - should've figured that Garcia is out the door anyway with his appearance.
It showed him and the desire of wanting to play, as well as a clip of him throwing a bomb to Stallworth. If there was a better way to advertise that he's still good enough for some NFL team (and he did mention that he likes being on the left coast), this is it.
The man is SO gone, unless the Eagles back up the Brinks truck at his house, which they won't.

Whether Garcia returns or not, Feeley will still be here, so the controversy will remain.
I don't know why people are so quick to dismiss Feeley. Without taking a snap all year long, surrounded by second and third stringers but facing a first string defense, he casually went 22 of 33 for 321 yard and 3 touchdowns. That's not too shabby.

It's really for the best that Garcia goes. I think he's in the ideal situation here in Philly (behind McNabb) and has a great shot at a title in Philly. But he won't be content as a #2 after this season and McNabb won't be comfortable with him here next season either.
Best of luck Jeff... thanks for the run.
Birds have to go back to the pre-Garcia days. Keep Feeley and Detmer and possibly draft a QB to groom.

I agree than Feeley is fine here. Garcia had a great run, but it's a mirage. He's not going to to win 13 games with a 20 TD 4 INT season next year here or anywhere else.
I'd love to have him as a backup, but think Feeley is fine there.
I don't acrte either way.
Losing Stallworth's speed is what I'm most worried about. I think they can replace his production, but I think his speed gave them some BIG plays they couldn't otherwise pick up and I'm wondering how much his speed helped the other guys get open underneath.

When Donte and Donovan were on the field together, which wasn't very often, they were really clicking. On the one hand I think he is too valuable to let go, but I can see not wanting to give a truckload of money to a guy with persistent injury problems.
I agree with the mob that he is more important than signing Garcia. As of now I'd say there is NO SHOT of him coming back.

Feeley's OK for what he is. But this brings us back to square one.
I agree that losing Dainty is the worst of the two. He had legit gamebreaking speed (even if his hands weren't always the best), and if anything, he made you respect the deep ball. And while Reggie Brown is good, he benefited greatly from Stallworth on the field. I don't see how anyone on the current roster can reproduce his ability to stretch the D and have them taken seriously.
So far it's Baskett, Brown, Avant, and Lewis. I think I'm scared a bit.
And despite his injury problems, Stallworth was worth having McNabb throw to. I wonder if this is just another log to add on to McNabb's fire, and going back to the "you're not giving me enough weapons" mantra.

Stallworth dropped far fewer passes than Brown, Westbrook, or Smith.

For the record, I'm not scared of a Stallworth-less receiving crops next year, as I think all of those guys are serviceable. However, the absence of his speed will remove a very vital weapon from the offense, making life much more difficult for McNabb.

I, for one, welcome the new 2007 WR core.
Go B.L.A.B.!

I actually think that is something we may see a lot next year. I wouldnt be the slightest bit shocked to se both 18 and 7 heading to minny next year.
