Just because it hasn't been made yet.
Indy's favored by 7, with 48 1/2 being the points. I'm not a gambler, so whatever.
Indy should win, and if I were a gambling man, I'd take them and the points, and the under.

technically, because the line has been pushed toward indy by subjective peyton-hype, a bettor should wager on the bears with the points... technically

Colts should cover easily, but I'm not touching this game.
There's no lights out D and there are two QBs without a great track record (Rex overall and Manning in big spots). I'm pretty sure Manning is over his thing and they'll roll, but I'm not betting it.

Flesh, I was kinda playin off Bass' admidtedly 'novice' approach, and the misquote he used.
Takin the favorite and addin 7, not takin 7? Yeah, im all over that.

Just a hunch, usually wrong, but a hunch that somebody on the Bears is gonna have a big game - Muhammed, Jones, somebody - and keep it close. And with Grossman, there is nowhere to go but up. In his 120, then 2, then 116, then 4 passer rating season, this is an "up" game. I figure Indy may also have a hangover after their Super Bowl win over the Pats 2 weeks ago, that will keep it close.
Dolts 32
Bares 28
which is fine with me because in one of the 100 squares pools I'm in, I think I have 2-8.

Outside of existing/local Chicago fans and Manning haters, is anyone in America rooting for the Bears to win? There doesn't seem to be much of a compelling reason to do so.

i thought that the whole point of the odd-makers was to keep adjusting the line until they have an equal number of bets on each side. bookies/vegas don't make money off of the outcome of the game itself, but off of the vig. otherwise, they would just be like the gamblers themselves.
maybe i'm wrong.

I think that's generally the goal, f4f. I've ever heard of bookies that place their own bets with other people when they get too many people wagering on one side of a line. It's just a form of insurance.

Don't forget the anti-semites and gay bashers, who will be pulling for "the other Manning" in this game.

blah blah lines this, under/over that. Go Colts. I have a small grudge against the city of Chicago. My ex was on a biz trip there when she called to break up with me... and it was early-early in our going out that she was on this other biz trip to Chi-town when she apparently made out with some French dude named Lion. Yay Bears beating the Saints who beat the Eagles, yay Colts beating the Bears. Plus I'm interested in this one super cute Colts fan that looks good in blue. Plus I'll root for Tony Dungy to get some jewelry' that sucks about that one kid of his.
Payton! Do it!
blahhhhhhh, football is going away.

I'm pulling for the bears. I asked my 3 year old daughter who she wanted to win and she said the bears, because they're from Chicago and her aunt Jenny is from chicago. go bears. yay.

What's that about?
I've heard nothing about the religion of the players.

Now to ex-Birds (Duce and Corey Simon) have earned rings on other two in the past two consecutive SBs while sitting on the sidelines in street clothes.
I know Duce was on the Steeler's sideline last year, but was there a Corey Simon sighting on the sideline last night or has he been banished and told to deal with his medical issues?

I'm happy for Peyton, but yeah...he's still pretty awful in the playoffs.
I don't know what it is, but 3 TDs and 7 INTs in this playoff run?
Who would have ever thought we'd be saying "Peyton finally got his ring, thanks to the defense".

History tends to be kind to QBs who win SBs.
See - Namath, Joe. Also see - Kolber, Suzy.
