"LIMBAUGH: And before we go to the break here, folks, I've got to get something off my chest. You know, the game was the game. And the game was what it was. But I - I can't handle anymore press criticism of Rex Grossman. They're writing his name W-R-E-C-K-S. They're just -- worst quarterback ever to play in the Super Bowl. And it's been like this since the Green Bay game -- actually since the Arizona game, a little crescendo of it in the Green Bay game, the last game of the season for the Bears. And it's just unrelenting! It's just -- they're focusing on this guy like they don't focus on anybody! And I tell you, I know what it is. The media, the sports media, has got social concerns that they are first and foremost interested in, and they're dumping on this guy -- Rex Grossman -- for one reason, folks, and that's because he is a white quarterback."
Just when you thought it was safe to listen to this braying Jackass.....

In the same manner that many people say that the terrorists give the moderate majority of Muslims a bad name, so does Rush give conservatives a bad name. I mean, the conservatives should rise up and quash this squid, but they don't. His show continues to flourish, and he continues to tarnish the way in which people who aren't familar with the right as a political viewpoint see conservatives.
I know what some people will say- so I'll just add that over in some Muslim countries, some people might view the blowing up of U.S. facilities and civilians as "entertainment"...

Limbaugh is just a bomb thrower looking for ratings. He's no different from Ann Coulter, Cataldi, Franken or any other media whore. Even mainstream entertainers will debase themselves for some publicity (Janet Jackson & Hugh Grant, till exampel).
We're actually feeding into this by posting here. It keeps his name in the Headlines and he'll get a few weeks mileage out of it.
Just beware of the folks that think he's telling the truth about this.

He plays to his audience. We're a pretty diverse group on the Level, but don't for a minute think we represent a cross section of America.
While we have devout Christians and Conservatives, they don't seem to hate those differ with them. The same goes for the Lefties amongst us.
I think we get along because of two things. The anonimty of the Level and having dealt with different types of people in our formative years (it's a Northeast thing, you wouldn't understand).
Rush typical listener doesn't know any Jews, but he fears them. He's convinced that the UN is trying to destroy the US. He fears blacks because their different and different is scary. He trusts W because he sounds like him. He is a jingoistic, frightened man.
Sad, really.

Rush could NOT have been serious, could he, i mean, HONESTLY?
From purely a football standpoint, and he professed in earlier interviews to be a big fan of the game and its history, cant HE SEE how bad Wrecksneffect Grossman was/is?
I think he's just tryin to get some attention/reactions.
Again.
NEAG should sue.

He is OBVIOUSLY joking. Just read the line - almost exactly what he said re: McNabb but twisted around:
"The media, the sports media, has got social concerns that they are first and foremost interested in, and they're dumping on this guy -- Rex Grossman -- for one reason, folks, and that's because he is a white quarterback."
Now change a couple words:
"The media, the sports media, has got social concerns that they are first and foremost interested in, and they're propping up this guy -- Donovan McNabb -- for one reason, folks, and that's because he is a Black quarterback."
Rush is a big fat idiot, but this is not something to be upset about. It's actually kind of funny.

This reminds me of the thing that they do on Family Guy: Whenever they introduce the correspondent (can't remember her name), they always introduce them as "Our Asian reporter in the field" or "our black weatherman". I think the point of the satire is that- we haven't gotten past the point of always pointing out the obvious. I guess it's guys like Rush (i.e. the media in general) that will NEVER get tired of making a huge deal about so-and-so's color or ethnicity, when we all can freaking see that for ourselves. Rush just takes it to the extreme, but he's not the only guilty party, for sure.

As I've stated before, I think Rush may have been on the right track with the 5 comments, but for the wrong reasons.
A lot of pundits claimed 5's draft class was almost as good a '83. As the last one standing (I don't consider Culpepper that good), if he failed they would look pretty silly. Thus they praised 5 whether he deserved it or not, wanting him desperately to succeed. Luckily for them, he has.

Rush is the same guy who said hispanics are too stupid to use voting macines. (que an AE reesurection from dead to spin what Rush meant by that...)
Rush says stupid stuff for a reaction and usually gets it.
It keeps his fat druggie ass employed.
Mission accomplished

Rush may say things to get a reaction, but he also says them because he is playing to an audience of conservatives who are like minded. In other words, he makes these statements because he can get away with it. My guess is that he got very few callers outraged by his Obama "Half-rican American" comment. All the reaction against it comes from outside conservative circles.
Rush is a bigot, make no mistake. And his bigotry and conservative ideology can play well together.
Now conservatives by and large are not bigots, but they are definitely less tolerant and are much less diverse than liberals.

My guess is that he got very few callers outraged by his Obama "Half-rican American" comment.
Can anyone explain to me what this comment is about? The fact that he happens to be a light skinned black? And if that's the case, why would he feel the need to address that, does it really matter whether he's nightshade black or light-skinned? He's still black either way.
Rush is a fucking moron.

I assume NEAG is baiting with that comment?

Imistakenly thought it was yesterday but it was February of last year when the analogy was made on the show.
It was regarding Obama being "propped up by the media"
