Along with Luke Petitgout and Chad Morton.
Next - a sign for LaVar: "Will Blow Assignments For Food".

Uh...don't think he'll be blowing "assignments" for food now that his Achilles is toast.
Could be wrong, but the Achilles seems to be a career changer for most positions that rely a lot on speed.

Also, wasn't Luke Petitgout their starting blindside tackle for the last 8 years before he broke his leg?
Who cuts their starting left tackle at age 30 over a broken leg?

That's not true, fd! Look at Todd Pinkston....oh, wait...
My point was that him going anywhere at this point is pretty much moot, since he has the rep of a freelance LB AND he's coming off an injury. At 29, it'd be tough for him to come back at 100%. Even tougher to convince someone to take him.

Luke Petitgout is a good and solid OL. I would really be shocked if they jusy let him go...

This is PFT, so it wouldn't shock me at all if this report was completely wrong.

'tis legit.
With Emmons on the cut pile, as well, Banner must be hallucinating over the narcotic scent of a vet minimum contract:
Giants release Arrington, Emmons, Petitgout
February 12, 2007
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Giants released linebacker LaVar Arrington and two other starters Monday in the first major shake-up under new general manager Jerry Reese.
New York also cut linebacker Carlos Emmons and offensive tackle Luke Petitgout, both of whom were slowed by injuries over the last two seasons.
The release of Arrington ended a brief and unsatisfying tenure with the Giants for the former Pro Bowler, who was signed last year for $49 million over seven years but suffered an Achilles injury against Dallas on Oct. 23 and played in only six games.
"LaVar's situation is unfortunate because he was just starting to really become a factor in our defense at the time of his injury," Reese said.
Reese, who replaced the retired Ernie Accorsi, served notice that he will not stand pat with a team that won the NFC East in 2005 but was humiliated in a first-round playoff loss to Carolina, then scraped into the playoffs last season with an 8-8 record and again lost in the first round.
"These are difficult decisions," Giants head coach Tom Coughlin said. "But as Jerry and I looked at the roster, they are decisions we felt we had to make as we start to compose our team for the upcoming season."
Petitgout started 106 games at tackle and guard over eight seasons for the Giants. He broke his leg against Chicago on Nov. 12 and missed the Giants' final seven games.
Emmons, acquired from Philadelphia in 2004, played in 36 games in three seasons but missed a total of 11 games in the last two seasons with a pectoral injury.

Despite the LaVar leap at PSU and.......well......nothing else of note during his NFL career. I will always remember LaVar Arrington for one thing and one thing only...
Apologies in advance

I read that he tore his ACL in the 2nd Eagles/Giants game last year. That would make him playing effectively in 2007 a longshot (if that report was correct).
