Yikes, sorry for the extra crap

I know PFT can be "aggressive" in their approach. I also know that Florio is boyz with Rosenwhore said, which makes me suspect of anything they PFT reports regarding his clients. That being said, I do believe that Stallworth's camp will blame the Eagles for the leak and that it will cause irrevocable damage to their relationship...No way he returns...no how....

i need to create my own NFL madden game.

fwiw, not sure if eagles had anything to do with the news breaking at this time, but i heard on the TV news tonight that the info has been "public" knowledge since march 1st for anyone in league circles.

According to John Clayton from ESPN, the Eagles, Titans, and Patriots are in the lead for Stallworth's services.

I call BULLSHIT on the potential 1 year deal. There is no way in fuck he's signing a 1 year deal in this market because the only thing limiting his value right now is the drug thing and he's still going to have that hanging over his head next year.

This is just Rosenwhore trying to gain some leverage, IMO.

Same deal with the Titans. What are the odds they will sign Stallworth with the substance abuse stuff while they are dealing with Pac-man Jones and just released Travis Henry in order to continue cleaning up their house?

It looks like it's the Pats, Eagles, Maybe Dolphins, and Maybe 49ers.

According to Adam Shefter, he's now scheduled official visits with both the Pats and Dolphins, but the Eagles are still his #1 choice and they are still talking with the Eagles.

The most recent report from Len Pastabelly at ESPN said the Eagles made an official offer to Stallworth on Monday, with terms undisclosed.

Any chance the timing of this sustance abuse thing and the Eagles lowball offer weren't coordinated?

I still say he walks, but the Eagles at least appear to be back in the game.

Ironic that the substance abuse thing was "leaked" by a team with their own substance abuse issues.

Doubtful that this drops his value dramatically - if it's a ploy to undercut his value so that he'll re-sign here, then that's kinda low, especially since teams either a) already know about this stuff, or b) are more concerned with his injury history than his drug history.

I doubt this is the case

For what it's worth, Bob Brookover broke that story and said he didn't learn it through the Eagles or from the Eagles on WIP this morning.

Could be just as easy for him to learn of it from a third party that was informed by the Eagles, but that's the conspiracy theorist in me talking.

Regardless, I still think he's out the door as well and would really like to be proven wrong.

As i said, i think the leak has more to do with fan relations and backlash than letting teams in on 18 loving the green.

According to Eskin, the Eagles never made Stallworth an hour.

If he made a point of saying it, Reid made a point of telling him he should report it.

I'm doing too many things at once...ugh.

Last night, Len Pastabelly reported that the Eagles had given Stallworth a formal offer and were back in the game, so to speak.

Howard Eskin just repoted on his show that the Eagles DID NOT make an offer to him.

Basically, Eskin's "source" with the Eagles is Reid, so it's likely that Reid made a point of both telling him it isn't true and telling him to report it.

I don't know what that means, but that was my take.

The last thing they want is for the other 31 teams to know that the low bar has been set. They were probably hoping to ride this drug program allegation a little farther first.

His source canNOT be Reid for a couple reasons:

1) Id think reid's a tad busy to be hookin up the King with Show material right now

but more importantly-

2) King's SOURCE is who he cited when he ABSOLUTELY STONE COLD MORTAL LOCKED that the Birds were NOT interested in Terrell Owens.

I think Reid was admitedly in on that decision.

I believe he WAS given an offer (not makin the claim it was a decent 1, just that he got AN offer).

Other sources besides the Inky are reporting it- latest among them is Kaplan.

I know some other sites etc just cite The Inky, so I am not counting them as sources of the offer story.

Well, that makes a statement... so the fact that Donte is reportedly in the leagues sub. abuse program does that make it less likely that Reid will or will not sign him now given the problems his family is going through now?!?

Don't forget, Asskiss has Joe Banner on his show more times than just about anyone else, including the Morning Morons. He could've gotten it from him.

Either way, what point does it prove to say they didn't give Stallworth an offer?

I think it's possible he has another source, but extremely doubtful.

Also, I don't think Reid always feeds him accurate information. I think he tells him what he wants reported, whatever his reasons are.

As far as Reid being busy...I'd argue he's never been les busy. He went from working 100 hours per week to being available to 2 hours of counseling per day and some afternoon fingerpainting. I'd imagine he's climbing the walls by now.

His source could be someone besides Reid or he could have a secondary source, but the other WIP guys drop hints and he so closely alligns himself with the franchise, it's gotta be in order to maintain his best link to information. If it was a secret mole, I don't think he'd feel that obligation.

I mean...he literally has a more positive spin on the Eagles than Dave Spadaro and RIPS all the other teams in the city year after year.

OK, now Eskin is double talking like the Eagles FO is paying him... Saying that D.S. isn't likely to get a long term contract because of his being in the sub.abuse.pro. OK so now he's come out and said EVERY team has the right to ask the team IF a player has violated the leagues policy when they trade for a player or bring in a FA(this only makes sense nobody would pay that kind of money without knowing everything they can to make a smart choice) but in the next breathe he says the Eagles wouldn't sign DS to a deal similar to Reggie Browns contract because he's one test away from a 4 game suspension. So the Eagles knew he was in the program when they traded for him but wouldn't pay him what he's worth now???

It sounds like the FO spin is in full swing here...

Lot's of talk, no one can confirm it.....

Comcast is reporting that Stallworth signed with NE...http://philadelphia.comcastsportsnet.com/view_content_0p.asp?ID=46287

NFL.com said Stallworth has an offer from the Pats, but will still visit Tenn, and waiting to hear from Philly.
