Mayberry was one of Ray Rhodes' guys, I believe.

Never played for the Eagles!
the question was players drafted by the eagles, not just whether they had played here.

Big Fat Bobbie Williams is still playing with the Bengals. He may even be a starter.
Mayberry was Ray Rhodes pick.
"Damn it Doug" Brzezinski played a couple seasons for the Panthers and I believe Barry Gardner is still in the league somewhere.
And Reid's other standout WR picks included the likes of:
Freddie Milons
Gari Scott
Troy Smith
Did anyone mention Na Brown?

not sure if any of you heard bob brookover, eagles beat writer at the inquirer, on with jodymac today.
asked point blank by jody if he would reveal his source in the stallworth leaking...he said no, but would confirm on the record that it was not the eagles, or anyone associated with them. he also said that by the time he wrote the story, it was common knowledge for any team around the league that wanted to know anyway.
also asked if he thought the eagles were done in FA at this time. he said maybe a few minor moves still, but look for them to watch the june 1st cuts very closely.
this next part i only caught a part of due to a client calling me. apparently there was a Sporting News article written on the viewpoint of several noted pro scouts, sometime just before the '06 season. now here's where i lost some info...from the little i heard, it sounded like the article listed the best young receivers in the game, i think less than 5 yrs at that point, but not 100% sure of criteria used. according to the scouts' consensus, ( fwiw )
kevin curtis # 16
reggie brown # 18
donte stallworth # 28
just though that was interesting that those 3 were lumped so close together by these scouts, about this time last yr.

So, in short, Culley may suck...I have no idea. However, I just don't find any evidence that he does. It seems like he's coached a lot of guys up but the Eagles have just failed to identify talent in the draft.
I read your post and your logic does make sense, given your assumptions. But, I think one (actually two) of your basic assumptions may be flawed.
First, you seem to think that if a player fails to make it with another team, it means that he has no talent. Why do you take that as an invariant? I think it is very possible that if a player with talent and potential spends three years under a coach that can't help him elevate his game, then after those three years, other teams are much less likely to take a chance on that player than on a mid-round draft pick. I think the reasons are obvious, but I'll be happy to elaborate if you don't think so. Basically, I'm saying that it seems very possible that a player's value and even potential can drop if he "wastes" three years not developing. This is why high school players care about how well college coaches develop talent.
Second, you seem to think that it is a good thing that T.O. thinks favorably of him. I mean shit, Hitler liked Mussolini.
Finally, even if you were correct that there is no evidence that Culley sucks, I a change is justifiable based purely on tenure and production alone. Nine years of no production is nine years of no production no matter how you look at it.

"I a change" should be "I think a change".

I would argue that Culley has been very productive for the last 4 years of his 9 year tenure.
Brown has clearly produced and showed improvement.
T.O. was on pace for career high numbers.
He's had back to back WRs among the top 4 rookie WRs (one a 2nd round pick and one undrafted).
Everything you say MAY be true. My contention has always been "I think it's impossible for fans to evaluate position coaches".
I pretty much say that his track record doesn't show any glaring deficiency and the coaches haven't replaced him. My opinion is they'll remove him if they feel he's not maximizing the talent of the players.
Then there's this question...
If Culley didn't maximize the talent of Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell, McMullen, Gari Scott, Na Brown, etc., which WR coach (without looking one up) would have done the job better?

Cuuley's situation is kind of a Chicken & Egg thing.
Do the players suck because he can't coahc or does he just get stuck with suckass players?
Neither is very comforting, considering that they never hire anyone who doesn't already have a cubicle at NovaCare.

Like the extensive search for Childress' replacement.
In the NovaCare cafeteria;
Spuds - "Hey look, there's Marty. Maybe he'll do it?"
Banner - "will it cost us more money. We already pay him plus all that free Eagles gear."
Andy - "You gonna finish that burger?"
