The FA stuff is all spread out, so this can be a thread just for deals that are done with numbers:
- Clements ass raped the 49ers to the tune of 8 years and $80 million with $23 million guaranteed. He's the highest paid defensive player in history.
- Eric Steinbach (guard) signed with the Browns for a 7 year deal with $49 million and $17 million in guaranteed money.
- Langston Walker signed with the Bills (terms not yet disclosed).
- Derrick Dockery (again...guard) inked a 7 year, $49 million deal with $18.5 million upfront.
- The Falcons signed Ovie Mugheli, the FB from the Ravens. They gave him a 6 year pact worth $18 million and it included $5 million guaranteed.
- Tony Pashos (Offensive tackle from the Raven) got $24 million and a $9 million bonus to play in Jacksonville.
- The Skins inked Fletcher to a 5 year $25 million deal with $11 million upfront. Fletcher will be 32 when the season starts.
- Michael Lewis signed with the 49ers. Details on his deal are still sketchy, but the Chronicle is reporting it's a 6 year deal and includes $10 million in guarantees.
- Chris Kelsay of the Bills re-signed just before FA for $13 million in guarantees over the course of a 4 year deal, but details on that contract should continue to emerge.
- Cullen Jenkins signed a 4 year $16 million deal with Green Bay that includes $6 million in signing bonuses.
Just post the deals in here once the numbers are in.
My notes on these signings so far: holy shit.
The Clements deal is insane. A FB got a deal worth more than the one JT just signed?
How about 2 good (but not great) guards BOTH getting more guaranteed and total money than Hutchinson got last year in his blockbuster deal?
Jesus...

I didn't realize money was burning a hole in the 49ers pockets. Clements used to be awesome when he was paired up with Winfield, but worth that much?
That deal has just set the standard by which all other overrated CBs will get overpaid. Just like Hutch's deal set the standard last year.

It did to a degree, but I think the contracts were getting lost with the rumors, visits, and things like that.
If it's too redundant, someone can close this one up, though.

This is America. Why have only one of something when you can have two?

"Jesus...
Don't you mean Jebus?
As for redundancy... two threads can't hurt 'cause eventually one is gonna turn into a Daddysly accusation and/or slam fest anyway or be polluted by the retarded I Shit Myself Guy.
Crap... that will likely happen in both.

Two threads - summery and details.
Summary - for those with ADD.
Details - for those with LDD (Life Deficit DIsorder).

I'm lovin' Gibbs more and more every year. Hey Joe... maybe next year you can sign Junior Seau.
The Niners apparently looked at the Redskins model and said... Now, that is the way you win in the off-season!"

TEXANS EXTEND JOHNSON
Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Houston Texans have extended the contract of receiver Andre Johnson.
Johnson, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2003 draft, was under contract for two more years, and was scheduled to earn salaries of $5.25 million in 2007 and $7.75 million in 2008.
Johnson had career highs last season with 103 receptions and 1,147 receiving yards. He was named to the AFC Pro Bowl squad in 2004 and 2006.

More craziness...
- Ahman Green got 4 uyears $23 million from the Texans.
- Leonard Davis for 7 years $50 million with $19 million guaranteed from the Cowboys. He's now te highest paid guard in recorded history and the 3rd $50 million guard this off season. He's also the worst of the bunch that signed so far and is a disater as a tackle.
- Dewayne White signed with Detroit for 5 years, $29 million with $13 million guaranteed. Further proof JT's agent is fucking looney.
- Drew Bennett got a $10 million bonus and $30 million over 6 years from the Rams.
- Northcutt got a 5 year contract woeth $20 million with $4.5 million upfront from the Jags. That's a lot of money for a guy who should be the 4th best WR on their roster, unless they are planning on dealing/cutting someone.

The deal with Leonard Davis is that he is being pushed as a tackle though. He was a pretty decent guard before Denny Green decided he was too big and needed to play tackle. He's never recovered since then. The only reason he went to the cowpukes is that they said he could be a guard again. (sorry, I live in AZ and have heard WAY too much about this slagheap)
Anyway, is this the weirdest FA period in history? You know somewhere Spuds is grinning ear to ear as he can report the Eagles dissinterest in FA as a positive again.

I wonder how much of JT's deal is due to him liking the scheme though? Kearse is (more than likely) an injury waiting to happen again, which means tons of time for Thomas. Where else is an adequate (but not spectacular as of yet), smallish DE going to get the PT for what should be a contender?
...yeah, his agent is a moron...

- Joey Porter just signed a 5 year $25 million deal with the Dolphins ($12 guaranteed).
That's less than I though he'd get, so maybe he's more spent than I knew.

- Ashley Lelie signed a 2 year nothing deal with the 49ers...about $4 million total. He must be a real pain in the ass because for that money, there should have been more teams inbterested in his speed.
- Travis Henry got a lot more money than I expected. He got a 5 year deal from the Broncos that included $12.5 million in bonus money (not sure of the total contract).
- Brad Johnson signed a 3 year deal with the Cowboys, terms not disclosed.

Update on Porter to the Dolphins...ESPN is now reporting that he got a five-year, $32 million contract that includes $20 million in guarantees.
Big difference and a lot of money.

He's listed at 6'2" 250, which would make him a situational run stopping DT on the Eagles (if that weight is accurate...I thought he looked smaller, too).
