The Eagles quietly denied a London, England report intimating someone "thought to be linked with the Philadelphia Eagles American football team" would help the cash-strapped Millwall Lions soccer club.

Millwall chief executive Heather Rabbatts, according to the report, told reporters "The board is in advanced stages of negotiations regarding significant additional funding ..vital to ensure continued trading."

For now the reports looked into by Eagles spokeswoman Bonnie Grant lack validity and appear unfounded. Millwall has had hooliganism problems in the past, according to reports, although not recently.
