Good news, very good news, if true....
From PFT.com:
SUNSHINE OUT AT MNF
A source with knowledge of the situation tells us that ESPN is yanking analyst Joe Theismann from Monday Night Football. Earlier this year, the network said that the lineup for the weekly NFL broadcast would return unchanged in 2007.
Per the source, the likely replacement for Theismann is Ron Jaworski, who performed well (despite wearing ladies' glasses) during the back half of a season-opening Monday night doubleheader and who currently is handling booth duties for the ESPN/ABC coverage of the Arena Football League.

oh great, now i'll never be able to go anywhere.
for years, people around south jersey have asked me if i'm ron, or at least his younger brother. actually, ron only lives about 15 mins from me.
when jaws was younger, and had the scruffy beard, so did i ( not because he had one ) and everywhere I went, people would make the same comment..." if you're not ron jaworski, you look just like him".
not that i'm 48, and he's about 53 i think, we've both lost some hair, and the beard, put on some weight and wear these frameless glasses. and wherever i go, i get comments and those same funny looks...so there must be a resemblance.
either that, or my fly is always open.

It sure takes ESPN a long time to catch on, but they seem to be listening to the public for a change. Irvin and Theisman are addition by subtraction.

Jaws is, bar none, the best at explaining details found in film. Hope they let him go with this during games.

Joey T's been screwing up enough the last decade or so, and now with that spotlight, they're probably figuring they need to overhaul the lineup to get better ratings.
Jaws should do fine, but getting rid of Joey T is just the start of what they should be doing.

Now if they can just banish the two Dicks (Enberg & Stockton) from NFL coverage, I can watch games without gnashing my teeth.

Would've been nice to have Vermeil as a bonus, but this is like upgrading to first-class from the luggage compartment.

Thank god! How that putz stayed on the air this long is amazing. I hope I never hear Theisman do another game. He was one of the worst ever! Congrats to Jaws.

You get American announcers in Sweeden? Or are you just watching tapes of the games?

I get 3 games live on Sundays. Usually, I get the lead broadcast team for NBC and FOX then the late Sunday (early Monday for me) game. Then Tuesday Morning Football.
In addition, I get all the Eagles games on DVD from Switzerland. They usually come Wednesday. A place called Pontel has the redistribution rights for the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, NASCAR, and NHL. They will sell you individual games or you can order the whole season.
The live broadcasts are the actual live feed from the networks, so I get all the commentary during commercial breaks. No studio updates and usually no halftime studio show. All the playoff games are on my dish except the Super Bowl. That's on OTV (ordinary television) with a different American broadcast team and Swedish drop-ins.

I also get all the NFLEuropa games, so I can see the Referees of the future.

The off-camera stuff is funny. Dierdorf is constantly bithcing about not getting the info he needs, Joe Buck sometimes sings to himself, Phils Simms & Aikman set up the replays for after the break.
The best was Siragusa commenting on Cap'n Andy's punt at the end of the Saints game. He wondered what would have been the reaction at the Linc to not going for it.
