OK here's my final draft day wish...

Take Olsen in the first even if they have to trade up in the first. I think he will be a very solid TE that will either push LJ to become more consistant or make him expendable; but since I believe this is his pay me year(new contract next year or FA) LJ will have a pretty good year.

Then take Bush in the second, and since that would be a great pick and give this Offense all the weapons they could use and then some. I'm not 100% sold on Seth's boy from Rutgers but the idea of having a guy that can actaully keep the Defense honest when Westbrook is motioned into the slot is an interesting idea... I am against the idea of taking Hunt, sorry but I still have a fear of Penn State RB's, the only one I can think of that has been good has been Johnson out in KC. The rest all seem to flop in the NFL...

The rest of the picks IMO are for depth, but if the safety from Utah(I think) Weddle is still around in the 3rd I'd take him other than that I don't go much deeper in the draft...

Also I have a funny feeling that if Meriweather is still there in the 1st the Birds might take him, he has had some issue's in the past but being brought onto this team that places a lot on character and although I'm not personally sold on the guys character I have a feeling that Reid might take a shot at a guy with a lot of talent that he thinks just made some mistakes. The secondary needs attitude on this team, Dawkins can only play for so long so why not bring in a guy to take over for him a learn how to play under one of the best S the league has seen in years.

And I kept insisting theyd use him like an Alstott- which is essentially what you got last nite.

To be honest, he'd better be a lot better blocker than Alstott AND a lot more athletic if they are going to take him in the second round.

I always thought Alstott was a liability as a blocker and was SUPREMELY overrated as a runner.

Tony "Mike" Hunt seems like he runs in sand compared to having it in his pants and he strides too upright for me. Reminds me of a slower Chris Brown. I see him getting nicked up alot if he makes to the NFL that and the dreaded PSU running back curse.

Too bad. This guy would've been a nice replacement for Moats.

They did the best first round picks at each spot a couple days ago and it was equally entertaining.

With 3 of the worst 32 ever draft and none of the best 32, it's shocking that they've never won that Super Bowl over the years.

Also, 16 of the 32 best picks were LBs, WRs, or RBs.

Only 6 of the 32 best picks played on the offensive or defensive line.

Huh.

No its more along the lines of Curtis Ennis. I heard LJ before the draft bathed in the tears of virgins thus avoiding the curse. He also requested that he never be placed on a Madden Cover.

And Ki-Jana Carter. And Blair Thomas. And DJ Dozier.

Basically, anyone to play RB at PSU over the past 25 years not named Larry Johnson.

"I still have a fear of Penn State RB's, the only one I can think of that has been good has been Johnson out in KC"

-Franco Harris was real bum.

I agree that alot of the PSU guys have been flops, but they have had a number of guys drafted in the middle rounds who have had decent NFL careers--Richie Anderson being the best example, (the other) Curt Warner being another good one.

Nova, given the success of that program over the years and the number of high profile STUDS they were supposedly producing, you have to go back more than 35 years for another example after Larry Johnson?

Skit:

First man: "Navy sucks"

Second man: "What are you...a fuckin idiot? Ever hear of Roger Staubach?!?"

FD - I could give a fig about how great a blocker Rutgers would be- if they're using him as I want, like an alstott, its in the game the same time as Westbrook, perhaps Westy out wide or in the slot, with he the lone setback.

I think alstott was an EXCELLENT runner, could catch and frankly, I was always a HUUUUUGE Fan of his, always my favorite player not on the Birds, and not named Ray Lewis.

Block/Schmock. Who the F cares about that nowadays and with this offense- its hurry up and chuck it 80% of the time. And anyone who thinks it aint goin back to that is kiddin themselves.

And even if they DONT - havin a hybrid back there like this- maybe you DONT toss it downfield or outta bounds on a 3rd and 3, maybe just maybe the RUN IT UP THE MIDDLE.

But as for this quote of yours pasted below- i agree 100%:

"I worry about whether or not Tony Hunt will be able to play in the NFL."

Not to say that in the 3rd, if they call his name Ill be ticked, hardly, but I have my concerns.

If Leonard can't block, I'm not even a little bit interested.

Seth, a fullback who can't block is useless! He's a small fraction of the athlete and player Michael Bush is, so if the name of the game is "block shmock", I'll take Bush 100% of the time.

As for Alstott, eh. he was the great white hype, IMO. He only broke the mystical 4 YPC mark one time in his career and was more of a novelty than an actual player.

He's the best running fullback of the last couple generations, but running fullbacks and a dollar get you a ride on the subway.

I'd love to move up for Revis, just don't know how you'd do it.

If not, get a playmaking LB.

I dont think they select Bush:

A) He is not the kind of back they look for or covet. At least from all admissions they would go Hunt or Leonard before they do Bush. (Insert gratutious juvenile joke here.)

B)I think someone takes him before the Eagles pick.

Seth- I will be out of town on Saturday and won't be back until around 6 pm. Way to late to venture out for the Draft shindig. Sorry bro'. See at training camp.

FD, I think a)he can block as well as any FB here in the Reid regime except Ritchie.

B) Im more interested in a change of pace to Westy in the backfield.

The fact the kid can catch everything thrown at him would give Philly TWO such players and present ALL KINDSA trouble for opposing D's.

And, to revisit the Bush angle- I too would prefer they tab him than Rutgers, but I would be happy to hear his name called on Saturday after they say "The Philadelphia Eagles Select" in rd 2 somewhere.
