I wouldnt be suprised if Tenn made the playoffs next year. I think Indy has Superbowl hangover, Texans will take a year to get itself righted even with Schaub and Jacksonville has a KILLER schedule.

They are losing their top corner/elite return man, 2 best running backs, and haven't added anyone.

I think they were on the right path and were the most dangerous team in the league last year, but I think they will actually take a step back unless they do something to stop the bleeding on that team.

Pretty good call Hulk... however, the only things that concern me for the Titans at first glance are:

1.) Their running game
2.) Possible sophomore slump for Young.

Titans could very well be the team to land Michael Turner from SD....and if / when that happens- they are absolutely playoff contenders.

Correct. I am basing this off the premise Young actually excels in his sophomore year and they upgrade their running game. I dont think the suspension of "Make it Rain" Jones will that big of a loss as if they dont get Turner.

Lets remember Young is not Ron Mexico. He actually got better as they year progressed and he has the best of both worlds: he has a cannon arm and he is not afraid to run if the play isn't there.

Plus he is a better dancer.

Young surprised me last year (and I think he surprised a lot of people), but this year will be interesting to me.

He was super-clutch and just willed them to some victories, but he was inserted to the starting lineup one week before Travis Henry was handed the full-time starting role and Henry rushed for 1129 yards in those final 12 games, too.

Plus, while Vince should grow, the league now has a year of film on him and might come up with some ways to limit some of the things he was able to take advantage of last year.

If they have a solid ground attack, they'll be fine...I just think that they would be a candidate to slide backward a little bit depending on how the rest of their off-season goes.

Young was amazing last year, though.

In all fairness, Ron Mexico has the same attributes.

But Young actually will go through progressions and look for more than just the tight end on every play. Mexico couldnt read a defense if it was written by Dr. Seuss.

OK, now you're making a real distinction.

But the completion percentage and TD/INT ratios are about the same if not slightly worse. Vick won games, too, when he was younger. Not trying to say he can't improve, but I really didn't see signs of him being a top 5 QB in the league or anything like that.

An exciting player, no doubt.

Turner or not, the Titans are on the outside looking in at the playoffs this year. With Pacman gone (thank God), they have Wynn and Finnegan as their starting corners. Nope. Won't cut it. Lamont Thompson, starting safety, eschews running angles in favor of chasing down ball carriers via the Great Northern Route. Their D-line isn't improving, they're testing rooks out at middle linebacker instead of resigning Sirmon (who, admittedly, hasn't fully recovered from injury)... They have NO defense.

On top of this, their recent draft success (besides Young) has been pathetic.

This year, they're taking a page from the Eagles free agency book and watching and waiting with their hands in their pockets. Signees? One CB who always played zone. Meanwhile, they let Bennett (#1 WR) and Henry (#1 RB) go.

LenDale White is ballooning, but not from a talent standpoint. While Young willed them to several wins last year, I don't see a repeat performance. Opponents now know what's coming. He's a good and potentially great player, but the Titans are no better than 6 wins this season.

No wide receivers + No return game + No defense + [Currently] no running back = No chance.

Jeff Fisher's a good coach (clock management notwithstanding), but no.

Wins against Houston (twice), Oakland, Atlanta... Maybe a split with the Jags... and another lucky win somewhere. Even if the Bolts slip, the Titans are due for a significantly larger crash.

I just noticed that the Saints /Vikings /Packers seem to be the only 'distance' road games this year. I know it doesn't mean much, but for the most part they won't have to travel an aweful lot. Games on the road against the Jets and New England are the other two non-division games.

I'm not sure if it will make an impact, but it should make for a better rested team than say a flight to Seattle.
