just got done working 60hrs in 6 days, so i may missed this posted here, and if not, sorry for it being late.
on thursday or friday, jodymac was explaining macnabb's contract for the coming yrs. in a nutshell,
makes about 6-7 mil this yr, with a big cap hit if cut or traded
makes about 8 mil next yr, with a still big but slightly less cap hit if cut.
however in '09, base salary goes to abt 10 mil, with only about a 2 mil cap hit if cut.
and...in 2010, base salary goes to about 12 mil, with little or no cap hit if he's cut.
after that, the salary keeps getting bigger, with no cap hit for being cut.
the last six days have been a blurrrrr..so if my numbers are slightly off, i apologize, but i have the crux of the information correct i think.
his summary, which looks to be correct, mcnabb is on the team the next 2 yrs for sure. and may still be the QB in '09 if a new QB is not ready. but with a 12 mil cap number and salary, and no cap hit for being cut, unless he renegotiates, he will not be here in '10.
