Did Kearse catch the aids?

So, with Bunk, you can't say he's arrived by any stretch, but Gcobb is being a bit disingenuous when he says it's the Eagles hype machine.

Everything they are saying so far is true and no one has said "Bunkley will be an All-Pro this year" or anything like that.

Did Kearse catch the aids?

I know...looks like he might have picked up a plague of aids during the off season. My guess: left his vile of gypsy tears at home and engaged in sexy time.

So I saw a picture of #78 and thought that Bunkley looked so much stronger than last year, then I remembered he switched to #97. #78 is the rookie DE, Victor Abiamiri. He is big damm DE!

I am worried about Kearse as well. They say he is at 246 lbs. I know he is a speed rusher but how in the world do they intend to stop the run with your LDE weighing less than your WLB. Here's to him putting on "18 pounds of pure muscle" in 2 months...

He said he'll be at 265 by training camp, which means he has to put on 20 lbs. in the next 10 weeks or so.
I'm not worried about it. he definitely looks light, but I think he'll put on enough weight to be effective and think he can probably play well anywhere above 250.

The '05 & '06 classes have to earn their money and come thru this year ...if they do the sky's the limit .

Really? The sky? Not just the clouds, but the actual sky? If a couple of guys from the '07 class contribute, do you think there could be no limit at all? I could definitely see this team making it as far as the stratosphere.

I apologize for getting off on the wrong foot, SuperfanTalon_60. If you continue to provide groundbreaking insights such as the one above, you'll be welcomed here with open arms. NFLFans.com's loss will be our gain.

If Reggie Brown can step up and get 1,500 yards, they might be good.

If Bunkley can get, say 19 sacks this year, the sky is totally the limit--or if Gocong can have 220 tackles, 24 TFL, 13 forced fumbles and 10 sacks, the sky is the limit--I haven't even gotten to Bloom yet...

I don't put much stock in the things that JJ (or anybody else) is saying about Bunkley. Clearly this guy needs a confidence boost after last year so my gut tells me that's all this is. They've got too much invested in him and are hoping that playing him up in the media will get him going. Hope it works...

JJ doesn't issue compliments unless he means them and he doesn't seem like the kind of guy (historically speaking) who says nice things for the heck of it.

He's honestly thrilled with Bunkley's transformation. That much we know.

Now it's a waiting game to see if all the hard work and change in attitude translate to on-the-field success.

Hmmm, thought surely by now there'd be talk of Wil James' continued verbal pursuit of the starting CB job, in not subtle terms.

I for one am more than fine with it.

"I want to be a starter. Period," James said...I want to be the best cornerback in the league," James said. "And this camp was definitely a good start to that."

"Just saying 'Pro Bowl' lets you know my intentions," James said in a conference call after he agreed to terms on a one-year deal. "Obviously I'm not going to the Pro Bowl being a nickel back."

James appears to have told the world about his desire to start. But what about the ones who make the decisions-the coaches?

"I told the world," James said. "They're a part of that."

It seems Andy Reid and co. have gotten the message - even if it was given indirectly.

In early May, defensive coordinator Jim Johnson indicated the door was open for James to earn his coveted starters role. In a published report, Johnson heaped praise upon James, while stating that he expected James to push current right cornerback Sheldon Brown for starting time.

In his press conference Sunday, Johnson was more diplomatic, although he continued to extol the efforts of James.

"(William) looks good," Johnson said. "If you watch practice, you can see he's making plays. Will is a heck of a corner. He's a battler and he looks good. He's going to help us."

Although Johnson's statements appear to open the door for the impatient James, the corner didn't seem to take much stock in his coach's comments. James said his play on the field would leave his coaches without a decision to make.

"I'll decide that," James said. "My confidence comes from within. Whatever the coaches say that's their thing, I just got to go take care of things on the field.

..."Whatever I have to get through to get to my goal I'll go through...I don't deal with doubt, fear, none of that. I know what I've come through. All I see is the end," James said. "I've always been a starter since the first time I was on the field in New York. I was a starter then and I'm a starter now, period."

It should also be noted that the Bench Blog is no more.

Moats has not been asked to detail his struggle to make the roster this season- instead we the fans are actually treated to a blog by a player who has accomplished something and can read a playbook that doesnt have pop ups and color by numbers sections.

Spikes is the blogger this yr. on the EMB.

I don't mind James wanting to be the starter, but he's being a little ridiculous about it. As long as he's not being a dick about it in the locker room, I want him to compete for that starting job.

However, if he's being a dick about it, he's not going to win any friends with Dawk and Lito (let along Sheldon).

Confidence is great, but I just hope it doesn't turn into brash assholiness.

Thought about all that-

But I want the best guy out there.

And I think the more militant of an approach this wack-a-do takes, the bigger chip Brown'll be playin with.

And when the Nickel pkg. comes out, this dope playin for a contract and believes he is all world, will be out there making plays.

Win/win for the guys buyin the $7.00 beers on Sunday afternoons, and those at home watchin.

Anyone hear a update on the progress of Winston Justice? I thought he would be hyped in mini camp. The Eagles have to want this guy to be pushing Tra Thomas/Williams for playing time right? Can the old mans back handle another year?

According to reports, he looks bulked up and looked great. He lined up as the starter at LT because Thomas was recovering from an off-season surgery, but I think they are expecting Thomas to start another season at LT barring injury or some other catastrophe.

That's fine by me. If they could have received a good pick for him in trade, I was ready for the Justice era to begin, but if he's healthy, I still feel more comfortable with his experience on the left side.

SPuds says "Max looked like he lost some weight. He looked good and Juan seemed to praise him quite a bit. Until the pads go on, though, it is very hard to grade the linemen."

Which means, he is not ready to be a starter, but is another player they like from their "Lineman Repertoire"

uber seth and byers :
thanks for the warm welcome fellas ! ....

guess i made a big mistake trying to let people know a little bit of my personal background ?

uber : you must have been an English major ...getting your cookies off correcting every little spelling mistake ? ...yeah?

seth :
i guess when you call wip you throw out that 736 badge # , you wear face paint and spiked shoulder pads too ? ....

byers :
you sound like a wise ass big mouth who had a few bad run-ins with some south philly boys in the past and developed an inferiority complex !....

now that the pleasantries are out of the way
maybe i can get down to a serious discussion
of Eagle football instead of showing everyone how big a ball breaker i can be !

what'ill it be ?
