From PE.com:

Turkey Hill Post of the Day
Ask Dave Spadaro: Best WR Corps In Recent History?
"Dave, I know it's early and there are plenty of what ifs ... But from your perspective, looking at the current group of WR, do you think this may be the best and most talented group of WR the Eagles have ever had this time of year? Personally I feel AR and company have addressed the problem quite well, at this point. In fact, I would be ready to say these guys will be household name by the end of the season."

Wonder where I can score some of THAT kool-aid. Seems to me like we've got one or two #2s and a handful of #3s, none of whom can be counted on to beat the coverage when it matters most. Eh, comrades? Eh?

I think we all need to see Curtis in action and we need to see how the other guys have grown. I also think that "one of the best in the league" is a stretch.

However, I think Reggie Brown breaks the 1,000 yard barrier this year (barring injury, of course) and I like the entire group as a whole. I think that while they probably don't have a true speed merchant on the team, they have 2 guys who are very fast in Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis. I also like Baskett and Avant a lot as possession types. Greg Lewis isn't a slouch as a #4/#5 WR. He was overmatched when given a chance to start, but he can beat any 4th coverage guy in the league regularly and made a number of big catches last year. I think that in that role, he has real value and adds speed/experience to the bottom of the WR depth chart. I think they have a nice mix of size and speed mixed throughout the depth chart there.

The dark horse is Bloom. I have no clue if he can play WR at the NFL level. I have no clue if he can return at the NFL level. However, he's got a ton of speed and quickness to go along with a tremendous work ethic, so I intrigued to see if he can do it.

All in all, the Eagles don't have a guy that has to be double covered on their roster unless Reggie makes that jump (he has the potential to do so, but it's too early to say for sure). However, I think they have guys who can win individual battles.

I also think that "one of the best in the league" is a stretch.

All they need is a Jabbar Gaffney-type player and I'm a believer.

On second thought, forget I said that.

Jabar Gaffney, the guy who led all WRs in yards AND TDs during the playoffs?

Plus, I never said that.

So when is the right time to blame Culley?

We could blame him for Avant apparently leapfrogging Baskett on the depth chart.
