Guess I can start off with this- Kolb inked a 4 yr deal today, per the Inky.

Good that all draftees are signed and will be present on Friday when they report.

This figures to be an interesting camp on many levels for me and Id suspect all fans:

- McNabb's post injury health

- Fresh faces on D

- Bunkley and the DT rotation w' Scott/Reagor

- The revamped LB corps

- The battle that at least Will James thinks is taking place for the 2nd CB spot alongside Lito

- Bloom and the return game

- Hell, even the Punter competition has my eye this yr.

- I'll be hoping Nasti Nate can make the team in SOME capacity with a strong camp and good showing in the preseason games.

You got camp news/comments/sarcastic remarks? Put em here.

The usual trouble spots will be of interest to me - WR/RB

Westbrook is stellar.

How is Buck, better than last year since being a couple seasons removed from injury?

Will Hunt be pro level ready?

Moats and Ilaoa will be interesting. Curious about Ilaoa going against top competition and if Moats has been able to learn the playbook.

I'm hoping Reggie Brown is ready to take the #1 spot.

Will Curtis catch on and contribute quickly? It's great having McNabb back so soon, hopefully the two can develop some chemistry.

Has Avant elevated his game? Can he pushy Ducky out the door?

Will Baskett remain a productive target, can he take the next step in his progression? He has the size to be a dominant receiver.

...or will the Culley Curse strike again!?!

As for defense... I'm watching you Bunkley.

And I'm watching Spikes.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the D with the improved linebackers. Can they finally stop the run? D Line also SHOULD be better - I'm looking for Bunkley and Patterson to be the dominant tackles they're supposed to be.

- Looking at the ends, and see if they've recovered from injury/bad years. Expect Kearse to have a good year.

- Concerned about the safeties. I'm not a big fan of Considine, and will Dawkins trail off?

- I'd like to see if Ilaoa can take on Hunt for the "big back" spot. Probably not, but it'd be cool to have our own Hawaiian Hammer.

- Would like to see if Winston Justice is ready for the big time, and if William Thomas' play will push himself back into the starter's spot or on the waiver wire.

- Really excited about the playcalling. If Morningwood keeps the same balance they had with Garthia, and with the addition of Curtis, I don't see how this offense doesn't score 24+ a game. It'll be paramount to keep that balance to protect McNabb.

- The only worry I have about McNabb is if he'll be ready in time. I really have no worries about the QB position.

what, the flyin' hawaiian isn't enough?

my biggest questions all reside on the d-side of the ball, led by bunkley. i think we'll find out pretty quickly whether or not he can play, once and for all. patterson is what he is, so i'm really looking for bunkley to impress.

additionally:

- how this new mix of linebackers will work out
- safety questions, ie, considine's ability and dawk's age

Who was that... Jeff Sydner?

Another vote for the D side of the ball, centering around their ability to stop the run. The Colts, Jaguars, Titans, and Saints games last year were all fkn embarrassments... let's see if Bunkley can develop, Kearse can recover, Howard can step it up, JJ can make the necessary adjustments (unlikely), how the rotation in the LB core works out, and can they get off the damn field on third downs.

August 4th no good. Sister and b-i-l coming in from Chicago and we're headed to the beach for the weekend. I will make a t-gate or two this season, though.

Zak, you and Flesh should come up to NYC to watch the game at Shorty's (formerly Tony Luke's with the same food but a gayer name) on 9/25. Hoping to get a small contingent of Levelers on hand for that one.

i know manhattan is a nightmare for driving, even on a sunday...went thru there on a sunday morning back in march, and it was wall to wall.

train?
parking?

if several of us come up, we should try to do it together.

EEB, you really can't find a more convenient place for people coming from the south. The bar is literally two blocks from the Lincoln Tunnel, which shouldn't be crowded in-bound on a Sunday morning. (I've had friends drive up before at this time with little problem.) Street parking on Sunday morning isn't too bad (if you get in early enough).

But if you want to take the Greyhound/Peter Pan/Trailways/NJTransit bus, Port Authority is a half-block away.

If you want to take Amtrak or a NJTransit train (SEPTA to Trenton, switch to NJTransit to NYC is my typical route), Penn Station is 8 blocks away, which equates to one subway stop, a $4.00 cab ride, or a 10-minute walk.

Couldn't be more simpler, and for those who hate the city, you barely have to see any of it. I'd like to get at least one Level gathering up here this year. I know Seth (and hopefully others) will be up for 9/25.

I'm assuming you mean 9/23 against the Lions. I will probably be able to make it, but I am headed to China in September, not sure of the dates yet. Is Evan still the owner?

Yeah, Evan is still the owner, but he has new partners.

Not a pleasant falling out with Tony Luke, who seems like a total douche who is more concerned about his bullshit "acting career" than running a good business. This asshole is probably going to succeed in running Rick's Steaks out of Reading Terminal, too. Whattaguy.

Anyway, he's added five more taps, and the menu now has some great new sandwiches, as well. I'm fairly certain he'll be adding more TVs for the Fall, too.

He basically strong-armed the terminal into getting Rick out of his lease. It's ridiculous. Rick is a good guy, and has one of the best places in the city.

Rick was also President of the Tennants' Association at Reading Terminal Market, and apparently, he was often at odds with the people running the place, as any good President of the Tennants' Association should be. Everyone seems to think management is getting their revenge by booting him, and Tony Luke has just greased the skids. Now that he's been on food network, they think Tony Luke's is a national brand and is going to lend some sort of bullshit prestige to the Terminal. It's absurd, especially considering the Olivieri family history with the cheesesteak.

Tony Luke played the fat, obsessive fan who tried to make the Eagles squad in Invincible. He was the jackass who sang the fight song (incorrectly) for the TV News report.

Tony Luke is essentially an arrogant prick who is all about Tony Luke.

I won't go into any details on the board here, but I'm willing to share in person.

That does seem a bit, um, prickish.

That's a devil of a way to try to get national prestige, though. And I do mean devil of a way.
