Ah...looks like Baskett was carted off yesterday and Avant was carted off Tuesday or Wednesday with leg cramps.

Theyve never charged before - tix were always given on a 1st come, 1st serve basis and only those with tix could get in line.

I would be VERY surprised to hear they changed that policy without any sort of mention anywhere- be it by their own site or in the local rags....

2007 Training Camp Autograph Schedule
July 28, 2007 | Last Updated: 7/28/07 8:16 AM ET | Comments (0)

The Philadelphia Eagles opened their ninth training camp under head coach Andy Reid on July 27 at Lehigh University.
A pre-scheduled group of players and coaches will sign autographs for 20 minutes at a location immediately adjacent to the main practice field. Each group will be scheduled to sign autographs two times during training camp.

All autograph sessions are held immediately following the morning practice. Click here for the complete training camp practice schedule. To ensure that all fans have an equal opportunity to get autographs, numbered tickets will be handed out to fans as they enter training camp. The winning numbers will be posted around the camp grounds during the morning practice.

Tuesday, August 7 - MILITARY APPRECIATION DAY - No Autograph Session

According to the group director who took my son and his group to training camp the tickets for autographs were $5.50. Not sure if it was because it was military appreciation day of what.

Bottom line is the Group director of the day camp fkd up.

He had all the kids thinking they were going to met players and get autographs.

Most kids wore Eagles jerseys and brought footballs to be signed.

It ended up being a total fkn waste of time.

No, He told me yesterday that he hadn't been up there for 5 years and he wasn't aware of the changes.

The guy didn't do his homework.

I should have went on the Eagles web site and checked it out myself but I thought the director had it all set up.

Based on what I've heard and read, he's been invisible. G-cobb pointed him out as someone who was playing well a couple days ago, but up until today he had been completely absent from all reports on the Eagles site (written or on the Eagles shows). However, I saw that he's the poster boy on the "Daily Eagle" today, so if you watch that video it may be focussed on him.

The two people I keep reading consistently bad things about are Illoa and Hunt. Spuds, who is obviously a terminal optimist, basically described Illoa as fat and lost. He described Hunt as a slower, less powerful, stone-handed Buckhalter. I was never a fan of the Hunt pick, but I think he's the kind of guy who will get better as he gets more comfortable. I also think he's the kind of guy who just isn't impressive in non-game situations.

On a side note, McNabb is practicing without a brace for the second afternoon in a row. He's practicing with the brace during the morning sessions and without the brace in the afternoon (yesterday and today).

This was my favorite update today from practice and there really has never been a play that summed up a guy's career so nicely:

9:50 AM: In an electric play, backup running back Ryan Moats makes two guys miss, spins off of a third, but coughs up the ball 20 yards downfield.

Has anyone heard any real details about the punting situation. The Eagles website has very little on it. I'm really pulling for Sav, but not sure how he's shaping up against DJ. Has anyone heard, or seen the punters in action to fill us in?

Couple things quick:

The Notre Dame DE- I've heard a LOT of good things about him, to the point where they feel he MAY earn SIGNIFIGANT time in the rotation.

Do the math- how's this possible?

But, Ive heard the guy I wanted to make the team, essentially hasnt a prayer- Nasty Nate.
Done. Gone. Slow, dumb, and nonchalant. Super.

Hunt- he's already made the team, had a REALLY ROUGH spring, is havin a MUCH better camp, so I don't know what FD's heard, but its seemingly conflicting to a point.

I'll be up there tomorrow, will be watchin Hunt, guess I wont waste time watchin Nasti Nate.

That was Spuds on Eagles live. Hunt makes the team no matter what (Nasti won't at this point), but if Spuds is unimpressed with a rookie third round pick, he must be stinkin' up the joint.

In Hunt's defense, he couldn't possibly look good in camp. I mean, he's a slow "thudding" kind of back who gets a total of about 2 or 3 carries per day in a fully "live" period (the only opportunity he would have to show what he does best) in a brand new offense. Even if he's the next Bettis, there's no way he'd have a shot to show much until the pre-season games at the earliest.

Hunt did indeed blow up James and knock the snot outta him on the GL.

He ran well today (I was up there with a few other guys from here) and aside from running to vertical at times, I was impressed.

Other random hits/misses:

When Kolb takes reps, McNabb walks away, turns his back, talks up a water boy, anything other than watch the field.
I noticed it and pointed it out to DGB and before him, Eagle in DC. The "Tiger Woods" treatment it would seem.

McNabb ran well and often, showing cut back ability etc- but the BRACE seems to be botherin him more than the knee.

Buck got hurt early and stayed down, right in front of us on the sideline- returned later to VERY loud applause, which he acknowledged.

Spikes and Trotter-
Guys, let me say that Ive been goin to camp since 85, and this was the FIRST time Ive ever stood up and yelled/cheered like an actual game. E.I.DC and I both found ourselves up and screamin on several occasions. These two were knockin people 4 yds backwards all day and like the old Buddy Ryan days when guys on the D would seem to compete with eachother for makin the next play- these guys were doin it and it was catchy.

W.James and J.THomas got in on the act as well with every play inside the 5 gettin blown up in the 7 on 7's. (Hunt scored eventually- but only after Reid had enuff of em gettin stuffed and had em set the ball on the 1 for a series- on which the "O" went 3 for 3.)

Illoa stinks. Sadly, i was extremely disapointed. SLLLLLLLOW... fumbled 2x. Done.

Brown and Curtis? NO WORRIES about WR, and toss Avant in there who REALLY stood out to me today. Guy's built EXACTLY like Keyshawn and REALLY uses his body to his advantage, blockin out the LBs on every catch he made over the middle.

GoCong- found himself outta postiton a couple times, not in the 11 on 11 or 7 on 7's, but in the passin drills with no line etc- but Spikes was barkin at him tryin to help him get back. Spikes is RIGHT at home here.
Also while Im at it- some good leadership displayed by William "TRA" Thomas- at 1 point SCREAMIN to the sidelines for the 3rd down personel- tellin em to move their asses and hussle to the field, not loaf (IT WAS HOT AS CRAP out there today).

Westy looked great, shifty, never stuffed for a loss. The fullback situation could be a plus this yr, not a push. Tapeh had 1 carry & took it with a LB (McCoy) drapped on his back for about 8. Blocked well, looks very athletic for a FB. Looks lighter.

Saw em running a set (D) where J.Thomas acts as a stand up LB, as if he's goin to blitz the 2 gap, then droppin back to cover the right flat. They did it only 3x so i couldnt pick up the entire set up, or who was sprung free by that confusin look.

Kolb looked good, and apparently fancies himself a running QB, tho he woulda been beheaded a couple times if not for the red jersey. Good arm, only 1 deep ball which was tossed into double coverage & incomplete. They're havin him work checkdowns and underneath stuff it seems. Baby Steps which he seems very comfy with.

Absentees: Didnt see Runyan or Cole, in addition to the known scratches, Lito, Dawkins.

Basket was back and had a couple real nice sideline grabs.

Reid worked em HARD today in the 1st practice, and it was HOT!

Finally, Max Jean Gilles and Justice fancy themselves as bad asses and pal around alot on the sidelines, and when in there, man, they shove people around and even talk sh*t. Gotta like that.

Guess I wanted to see Hunt run lower, Illoa give me reason to hope, and maybe McNabb not fiddlin with the brace as much as he did.

Surprised how fast Curtis looked, and oh- how effin HIGH the Rocca punts were - omiGAWD i hope this cat's consistent enuff for em to take a shot on...

Good day out there- the D looks better than just a defense usually does on the 4th day of camp- they look special/VERY physical, and as E.I.DC said
"This is WITHOUT DAWK out there!" he's right. Those two (54 and 51) with 20 ? Could be fun to watch this yr.

Thanks, Seth for the info on camp. I've been F5ing this thread for the last week and been sorry to see no posts from anyone who has been there.

And Mckruse jr, I don't want to speak for the board in general, but I know that I don't really give a flying fuck through a rolling O of pissed on cheerios about the punting situation at this point. I haven't been at camp, but here's your answer: one of them will make the team; it's going to be the one who punts gooder; and if he's on the field enough to really matter, the team is fucked anyway.

Thanks Seth, that's what I've been waiting for some somewhat objective views(we are Eagles fans)

Funny that with the good and bad it kind of came across Spuds like, which is a good thing because if after 4 days of practice the LB's look that good I can't wait until the preseason games. Which I haven't really cared much about the last few years, just watch the 3rd game to get an idea of the team but Reid never shows much so even that wasn't much fun...

Thanks again.

If McNabb was really the leader he thinks he is, he wouldn't turn his back on Kolb. Pretty petty if he is doing his own little McProtest. I thought Farve was a bitch when he pulled the same move on Arron Rodgers. When the Eagles drafted S. Andrews, Runyan and Tra THomas went out of there way to help the young kid get better.

great read from seth's post. i almost couldnt read it fast enuf, wanting to read the next line. i'll wait and pass judgement on dmac after more chances to see him and kolb interact. with it so hot, he might have just been looking to cool down and rehydrate...however, if the back turning continues, then i will lose part of my respect for him. be a man, not a punk.

About McBackturn-

I thought it was a big BIG deal, then I told E.I.DC, who I guess watches Golf, (I dont, thanks) and he called it the TIGER WOODS move and said it was something he did all the time- and kinda made it seem like less of a big deal than i initially thought.

Like it was more about competitiveness than it was something petty or personal.

Any golf fans feel free to confirm/deny.

I guess that was supposed to be my cue. To which I would reply as "Eh". Tiger Woods did not invent not watching another player take a shot when you are in competition against them. Though I guess I can see those that only started watching golf when he came along as thinking that way. And I highly doubt that it's ever bothered anyone. If McNabb feels the need for pettiness, gamesmanship, or some sort of competitive edge vs. a QB that was drafted 36th overall in his 8th season after multiple Pro Bowls, well, then he's got f'ing problems.

Along those lines, WTF was with the "me and my brother doublemint, spearmint, sexual last a long time" line in his intro on Sports Final? He's just weird.

Who doesn't harbor a strong dislike for that man?

I tried watching a couple of minutes of SF with him and Asskiss talking about the Phillies, and I can't imagine how someone with a working frontal lobe can stand watching those two for more than 2 minutes.

At least Beasley Reese has some actual cred.
