Hello, all. I have been waiting in the wings -- pun intended -- all year!

I am excited about camp so far. I don't get much Birds news down here in San Diego, except what I read on the online rags and Pravda, but I am still estatic.

Fly, Eagles, Fly in 2007-2008!

Guys, you want idiot Media Member example # 1,864?
Clark Judge, a well known writer for an even more well known and visited Sports Site- CBSSPORSTLINE.COM ,penned a "5 Things to Know About The Eagles" training camp piece.
And it's fluff, and uneventful, until this tid bit- about a "Player to watch":

Watch second-year pro Eric Smith. A year ago he filled in here and there as a backup safety and was a prominent member of the special teams. Now he looks like an invaluable addition to the team's nickel and dime packages -- and has taken turns with the first team. Smith is a big hitter who has good range and a nose for the football. It will be hard, if not impossible, to keep him off the field.

The Problem? The guy's a New York Jet.
A STINKIN JET- and you get him confused with the Eagles?
WTF? Come On MAN!!

Maybe he means watch for him when they play the Jets. But watch closely-- that guy's barely gonna see the field this year.

Brilliant.

Almost as bad as Joe Morgan saying on Sunday night that the reason Luis Castillo didn't catch a ball down the first base line was because he wasn't used to the winds in Wrigley Field after all those years playing at the Metrodome, totally forgetting he'd played 10 years for the Marlins in the NL and hit the ball that Bartman interfered with.

Spuds, in his "Things I think" today on the Pravda Site:

"Raise your hand if you have a man-crush on Takeo Spikes. I'm not ashamed to admit it..."

How fast do you think Spuds sprints to the locker room when Reid tells the team to hit the showers?

I must have missed that gem by Morgan, in between shots of Glavine's wife in the stands. But it was nice of him to explain, after 6-7 replays of him limping to 3rd base, that Soriano had sustained a leg injury. Cutting edge reporting, Joe.

Listening to Will James on WIP right now. If I had any doubts about his mental state they have been cleared up after hearing him speak.

He's certifiable.

Nothing earth shattering. Just talked about his time in NY and how he didnt like the way things were done voiced his displeasure which put him in the dog house. Then it was compounded by how the organization treated him when he got injured. It wasnt really what he said but more of his delusional musing on how he is of one the best CB's around and is gonna push Sheldon for his job since working hard and getting back from injury.

4. I'm sorry, but you can't help but fall in love with the play of Brad Smith.

No mention of Eric Smith, until you go to the Jets camp tour article, and rad about the Out Of Nowhere Man.

Ive mentioned I check in on G Cobbs site for his take on practice.
And while its far more insightful than Pravda, the DAILY mistakes in simple editing have me the reader thinkin this cat just doesn't care. He isnt typin on a message board, there's no race im aware of that he is involved in, to get the stuff out there immediately...

Petty example:
"Andy and Donovan work on their communications so they won't make the same mistake they made at the end of the Super Bowl. The key is having everybody on the same page. It may look boaring if you're out there watching them, but when everything is executed properly in a game to get a win, you think back to that situation work in practice..

BOARing indeed...

Anyway, get used to this kinda lazy stuff, or just plain missed words that have you tryin to piece together what the hell he's saying in a sentence, if you hit this link or others, and come away scratchin your head at times...

Anyway, he had a good article today asking why trotter is practicing 2x a day when others like Dawk, Westbrook, etc are given time off. It was interestin that is, until he gives his reason as to why-
THE COACHES WANT TROTTER TO FADE AWAY EARLY TO REPLACE HIM WITH GAITHER

Gotta love the Gcobb. I do read his blog from time to time to read about what he's seeing or saying, but some of his ideas are waaaaay out there.

They may want Gaither to replace Trot. They may want Bradley to replace Trot. I have no clue what their plans are and how quickly they'll put them into motion, but I do know they aren't purposely trying to wear down/injure a starter just so they can play the backup.
