Now Andrews says he was faking the "tear-jerker" all along.
And I've got some beachfront property in Montana to sell Seth.

when asked today ( weds ) reid said that he expects all 53 on the roster to be healthy enough to play on sunday, including andrews, LJ and AJ. and apparently aj took some live snaps in practice with his left hand wrapped, and said he had no complications.

AJ doesn't want to be a 2nd string version of Wally Pipp. He saw Kolb looking comfortable out there and doesn't want to provide any opening if McNabb goes down. He'll play no matter what if the need arises

Anyone know when the Eagles release who is going to be on the inactive list? I heard Spuds say that he thought either one or both of Hunt and Celek to be on the inactive list. Which kind of surprised me.

Celek doesn't surprise me, as they already have three tight ends in LJ, Schobel, and Dorenbos.

I don't understand this injury-less Eagles team taking the field for game 1.

I would imagine the 8 inactives would be:
- Nick Graham
- Max jean Gilles
- Pat McCoy
- Lajuan Ramsey
- Pago Tagafau
- Scott Young
- Baskett
- Abiamiri/Hunt/Celek (one of the 3)
It's a tough call, but I don't think they'd want to sit Hunt or Celek because Hunt could be useful in the goal line and Celek is essentially the first backup in 2 TE sets. My guess is it will be Abiamiri simply because they have numbers in front of him.
With Baskett, it's again not a reflection of him as a player, but they have 3 WRs locked in and Lewis gets the nod as the #4 while his punt return trial goes on. He;s a guy you can afford to sit.
With Young, it seems a little unlikely, but with Cole and Justice, they have 2 players who can play every spot on the o-line between the two of them.

Another guy they could consider is Joselio, but that would leave Mikell as the dime corner.

Nah, they would rather a playaction pass with inches to go at the goal line.

I thought the 3rd QB could be listed as inactive and still play. If before the 4th quarter the first 2 QB's can't return. So I'm sure that black cur breeding, hog hunting rookie QB will one of the 8 inactives.

I think the 3rd QB already has a roster exemption, so making a QB inactive wouldn't really help (since they'd be charged with 2 active QBs either way).
I could be wrong on that, though.

the 3rd QB isn't a roster exemption, he counts against the 53 (otherwise why would some teams only have 2 QB's on their roster) and they can dress 45 PLUS the 3rd QB to be used in an emergency or in the 4th quarter

The reason s0ome only carry 2 QBs is so they can keep another position player on the 53 man roster.
I'm nearly 100% sure that the "Emergency QB" is a roster exemption, or 46th "active" player on gameday.

The Eagles have 53 players on the roster, they can dress 45 plus the 3rd QB which makes 46. 53-46 = 7. That's how many players will be incative. So the lists in this thread should have 7 players pluc Kolb.
Some internet research crap below from wiki answers and PFW weekly
Answer
There can be no more than 53 players on an active team roster.
ANSWER
There is also a stipulation that a team may only carry 45 players on its game day roster, so the team must decide each week on which 8 players will be inactive, or 7 if they carry a 3rd QB.
NFL’S “THIRD-QUARTERBACK” RULE – SOMETIMES MISUNDERSTOOD: CLARIFICATION
Fifteen years ago (1991) the third-quarterback rule was instituted to enable teams to have an emergency quarterback available
who was not on the 45-man game-day active roster, since many teams, for strategic purposes, only carried two quarterbacks on
their game-day roster.
Everybody thinks they understand the NFL’s “third-quarterback” rule. But do they?
The rule states that if a third quarterback is inserted before the fourth quarter, a team’s first two quarterbacks cannot be
used in the game at any position.
Another aspect of the rule is sometimes misunderstood. It is a coach’s decision as to whether a third quarterback will be used.
The active quarterbacks do not have to be injured for a team to use its third quarterback.

one more thing about the 3rd QB. he can also be active, part of the 45 man game day roster. that way he would active without having to worry about the 3rd QB substitution rules. seldom makes sense, but it can be done.
example, last yrs playoffs. reid could have activated all 3 qbs, garcia, aj and neckbeard. that way aj could still be the # 2 and neckbeard could be active to hold on kicks.

Why couldn't they have listed Neckbeard as playing another position. He was only going to be used as a holder, so why not list him as a RB and thus keep AJ available without having to sit Garcia.
RBs have filled as QB in an emergency (B Mitchell is the most obvious example), so why screw around with the roster if you don't have to?

for some reason, i'm remembering there may be a rule that prevents teams from circumventing the QB rule. otherwise, why wouldnt more teams do it.
either way, you would have to have the 3rd qb or holder active on the game-day 45, so it really doesnt make much difference i think.
