my guess is personal experience, and honestly I don't give a sh*t if he's gay as long as he can play...

Spuds, what do you think the prollem is?

Is that question for me mullet?

Who cares, I'll answer it anyway. In the past
1. Their D tackles have never been strong at the point of attack which led to
2a. Simoneau getting caught up in too much traffic that he was physically unable to fight through or
2b. Trotter misreading some large percentage of plays where they ran right by him on a cutback as he attacked the wrong gap
3. the strongside linebacker play has been terrible for 3-4 years against the run allowing teams to just dare us to stop a power running attack to that side
4. a defensive scheme that gets players for and is designed for making big plays (sacks, hurries, interceptions etc.) foremost against the passing game with stopping the run a secondary consideration. e.g. speed rushing D ends with questionable run stopping capabilities.

As for the upcoming season since we've seen a watered down version/effort/game plan in the preseason it is yet to be determined how big a problem stopping the run will be. I'd say that the 3 biggest ways they could be better are; If 1. Bunkley is a physical presence against the run this season it will help allow the MLB to flow to the ball if not he'll be a younger (2. hopefully better regardless of Bunkley's play) version of Simeneau, 3. if the CalPoly guy is more like Emmons than the garbage we've had since he left that will be a big upgrade against the power run game.

Who has a mullet? Perhaps someone who types "US" in a post referring to his favorite football team?
Certainly, neither are found here.

Now that that's outta the way- breath of fresh air, the football talk, so pleasantries aside....

I think with regards to your last paragraph:

1) I think the DTS have played well this preseason, even within the, as you alluded to, limited scheme.

2) CalPolyCong: I hope im wrong here but this cat's lookin like a DE (not his fault- or at least understandable still) tryin to make open field tackles.
I hope like you that he can get this done, as the size/speed prospect on that outside is sorely missed.

He'll be a backup LB, no doubt. Have no idea why he's not a backup LB here instead of some scrub they picked off of the Cardinals' refuse pile.

He was a leader here, and EXTREMELY well respected, even revered by younger guys.

To have that man, sit the bench, and CHEER people on?
Wouldnt work.
Not here, not anywhere.

Would only eventually divide the lockerroom.

I would be Trot knew this too.
Thats why i laughed when I heard that he may resign here- there was NO CHANCE of that ever happening.
None.

I am not rippin the rook who's built similarly that they just signed, Ried or Trot.

Just offerin you a good explanation as to why he couldnt be a back up in Philly.

Believing that greasy, John Gotti stunt double is always a mistake. His reporting over the last year or two makes Screamin' A look like Edward Murrow.

So Tampa signs Trotter, I can't think of a worse defense for him to be in with his wheels, how is he going to get back in the middle zone in Kiffin's cover 2, I don't get it

Trot's going nowhere near the starting lineup. Probably a favor called in? Because the only thing he's good for right now is short-yardage situations.

Unless Tampa's changing their scheme, he's not playing Cover 2. Lockerroom guy, ST player, nothing more.

Okay, I'm sane. Trotter plays in a new Tampa D called MLB-2 in which he is a hybrid MLB/strongside linebacker. Yessss
