At least they're not addictive.

When I talk about how useless AA/NA/12-step programs are, I am talking about the rate of recovery.

Ahh, okay.

I'm on board with your opinion of AA. I have two relatives (that I know of) that did the AA route. One eventually backed off the booze adn quit the drugs after he moved thousands of miles away from his friends and is now a social drinker. The other is doing the chip-dip. If she has an honestly earned chip for longer than a month, I'd be shocked. Been years. I've tried to help in my way, but I can only do so much.

The SIP program, though, doesn't use AA. The drug and alcohol portion is a six month, instentive, inpatient treatment program. The participants then go through an outpatient component that lasts up to 18 months.

munch,
Would it be okay for me to ask for your email through the site? I think you might be interested in some things I don't want to get into publicly.

NC,
I was not able to find a detailed overview of the "individualized" inpatient and outpatient treatment the SIP provides.

But through some emails and websites I have been told that it does indeed include 12 step meeting attendance.

The child's chewable suicide pills are pretty delicious.

Now that I think about it, maybe they are.

Basically you end up taking them for the rest of your life.
