Now that the preseason is finally over, it's safe to make some predictions for the year.
Give your NFC Champ, AFC Champ, Eagles record, and Week McNabb gets hurt
Superbowl: Patriots over Saints
Eagles: 6-10
McNabb goes down Week 7

- 10-6
- McNabb doesn't get hurt.
- Saints/Pats in the Super Bowl.
The Saints aren't that good, by the way. the NFC is just awful and they have the easiest schedule in the weak NFC.

Ravens vs. Cowboys in Superbowl. T.O. has his best year ever and Eagles fans slide deeper and deeper into depression.
Birds...9-7, 2nd in Division.

After several pitiful losses, where playcalling comes into question- Marty is relieved of his play calling duties. Andy, after succumbing to Vietnam-like flashbacks of years past, brings the pass/run ratio back to normal levels (90-10) and gets McNabb's head torn off in the process. In comes Kolb, and after leading them to the playoffs, is declared the starter even after McNabb is healthy enough to play. In a fit on the sidelines, McNabb sits with the kickers and refuses to acknowledge Reid. Eagles lose in the NFC championship game to Dallas, where T.O. scores 4 TDs and the Eagles are still in it, down by 3, until Reid decides to try a fake field goal and instead gives up the winning touchdown on the fumble return. Everyone on the staff is fired the next day, and ultimately Bill Cowher takes the job, with Jerome Bettis brought in as RBs coach.

Fred, that's a complete fabrication.
Everyone knows Cowher's going to NY.
Anyway, 10-6, division champs, Kolb becomes this decade's Bobby Hoying, but with a lot more talent and much better upside.
NE takes the AFC (which is the popular choice, but the coaches for the other top teams are afraid of kicking it into another gear in the playoffs).
Not sure about the NFC - Chicago still plays in the WAC North, but NO's got the schedule. Everyone else is all kinda 'meh', which would give the Birds a good opportunity to make up ground and pass both of them, if that defense wasn't filled with more question marks than That Photo.

NFC Champ - Saints
AFC Champ - Patriots
Belichick roughs up Sean Payton for ring #4 (cue "Dynasty" music...)
As for the birds, a quasi repeat of last year.....
10 or 11 wins for 1st or 2nd place in NFC East.
Another first round playoff win, followed by an excruiating loss to a team that runs the ball well.
I will not participate in the Donny Mac death watch.
I just hope he doesn't get hurt.

Superbowl: Patriots vs Panthers, Patriots win in a game of field position
Eagles 10-6 and they take the NFC East in a tiebreaker
McNabb goes down in week 10. Momma McNabb shuts up in week 12. NotoriousEAG raves about Tom Brady all season but is ultimately proven right.

AFC Champ: San Diego.
NFC Champ: Chicago.
Eagles record: 9-7
McNabb does not get hurt but is arrested and suspended after week 9 when both he and NEAG are caught with "unusually wide stances" in the Philly airport.

McNabb gets a bullet in his left shoulder from Britt Reid during a road rage incident and goes down in week 5, forcing Lurie to fire Big Red for raising such a dipshit.
Eagles rally and go 10-6 for a wildcard spot. Cowboys win the division with the best defense in the NFC.
Chargers beat the Saints in the Super Bowl.

Over/Under on number of games before McNott gets hurt: +/- 6. As for season, Way too many question marks. 8-8. Only good to come out of season will be amount of work Kolb gets

Eagles 11-5, win the east on a tie breaker by beating the cowboys twice.
I have no idea for the superbowl becuase I think the Saints were a bit of a fluke last year. The Bears suck. And the Chargers have Norv Turner.
My surprise dark horses instead...

That last one would be sweet.
Jets take AFC upsetting Patriots.
Colts defense isn't good enuf this year.
Cowboys don't do well enough because of Romo and poor coaching.
Eagles finish 9-7. McNabb healthy. But inexplicable lost games from non-existent defense and special teams, like the middle of last year. McNabb has great games but also has a lot of 4 and out sequences.
Cowboys 8-8.
Saints beat out the Bears whose defense not quite up to last year's, and Rex Grossman doesn't get any better or worse.
Saints beat the Jets in the Superbowl.

McNabb not injured at all. In fact, he leads the home team to a 12-4 record, home field, bye (not me), all the way to the Bowl.

The Eagles finish 9-7 in a season that will be talked about for ages.
Interim Head Coach, Ron Jaworski, faced an uphill battle for the last 9 games dealing with a divided locker room and the arrest of former Head Coach Andy Reid.
Reid, and wife Tammy, were arrested after the body of Tom Modrak was found on the their Villanova property September 24th. Modrak was found with multiple stab wounds to his back and calves. According to the Medical Examiner, the calf wounds were inflicted by an unknown 3rd assailant. "Someone pretty short. Probably good with salary figures". Modrak had been dead for several days when his body was discovered.
Also arrested was Mark Eckel, former journalist now rumor mill. Allegedly Modrak & Eckel have been supplying the Reid's sons, Garrett & Britt, with drugs for the past 2 years. When Andy Reid discovered the connection, he and his wife allegedly lured Modrak to the house and with a third party, murdered him. Reid was arrested in Minnesota during a halftime interview with FOX's Pam Oliver.
The Reid's and their sons are currently being held, without bail, in the Graterford Prison Family Cell Blocks.
Despite the turmoil, the team had played well until a lunchroom altercation at the NovaCare Complex between veteran QB, Donovan McNabb and rookie Kevin Kolb. According to unnamed sources, McNabb & Kolb reached for the last apple danish at the same time. Neither man would let go. Kolb claimed he should have it, since McNabb had already eaten 6. McNabb called for his mother. A brief skirmish ensued, with the team divided by who supported which player. The rift was so deep that two practices had to be held and seperate charters were flown to away games to accomidate the two factions.
NFC East - Cowboys
NFC - Bears
AFC - Chargers
Super Bowl - Chargers

Birds go 11-5 – still the best team in a crappy division, and 2nd or 3rd best team in a crappy conference.
NFC Division Champs – Eagles, Bears, Saints, Seattle
NFC Wildcard – Dallas and Carolina
NFC Champs – New Orleans
AFC Division Champs – Pats and Colts (both with their eyes closed), Ravens and Chargers
AFC Wildcard – Steelers and Bengals
AFC Champs – Colts
Super Bowl XLII – Colts 31 Saints 20

One thing that's important to point out is the Eagles aren't really in a crappy division...just a crappy conference.
Even though I don't hold the Giants and Skins in high regard, the NFC East did produce 3 of the 6 total playoff teams last year (both wild cards for the entire conference along with the Eagles).

Eagles 11-5.
Win the East.
Cowboys 10-6.
Birds in NFC Championship Game, likely on road.
They'll lose if they're in N.O., win it and go to Bowl if they play at Chicago.
They'll beat either of those teams if they host the game.

Eagles 12-4 and win the NFC championship.
Pittsburgh 10-6 and wins the AFC championship.
McNabb breaks single season passing record en route to the NFL MVP award.
Superbowl is close until the very end. At that point Gocong sacks Rothlisberger after Chris plays well at DE the entire game. The Eagles bring home the trophy on the ensuing 68 yd punt return for a TD by Reno Mahe.

I only see 1 possible loss for US. But going on past performances I'd say WE go 12-4. 2 AFC losses a division loss and 1 more bullshit loss for good measure like Tampa last year. Super Bowl Champs as long as WE don't have to play the Colts in that game.
PS Joe Banner gets NFL Executive of the Year award

Positives:
B West w/ some depth
Seemingly a very good WR corps
Possibly dominating D-line with good depth
Liabilities:
*Being in Philly (higher powers have a hard on for the Birds)
* injury bug. Too many times the Birds got bit on the ass. The only team I can think of off the cuff that had it worse in terms of injuries are the Panthers. Watching out for Kearse, D. Howard, McNabb, Westbrook (last season was his first complete one), Lito (always with ankle problems), S Andrews if/when he gets back.
* NO depth at safety. Huge concern.
* LB's aren't strong enough as starters but some of the new additions make this difficult to predict.
What does it mean?
9-7 or 10-6.
Chargers vs Patriots in the real SB, AFC Championship. I like the Chargers.
NFC Champs? Who cares if it isn't the Birds?

I should include both QB AND CBs. I like the starters. Not sure about Willis yet.
This teams' problems really boil down to three things this year:
1. staying healthy
2. if they can stop the run
3. will they RUN and stay committed to running?
Otherwise, I think they are pretty solid across the board.
