No.
Do you think Minne would trade Childress for Reid?

I want to see the new ST coordinator (you'll get a name (other than fuckhead) when I deem you can) blame it on himself. I want to see GLew shot on public TV. I want to see some accountability. I want to hear Reed's exact train of thought as he fucked the game beyond all possibility of redemption.
I actually almost miss Ray Bob's post game tirades in a way, and that speaks VOLUMES about the state of the Eagles right now.

Dont kid yourselves. This game was not an abberation. Its the preview for the season. The Packers will be lucky to win 5 games this year. Theya re going to miss Stallworth alot more than they thought. Reggie Brown will never be a no.1 Mcnott still has happy feet and he still cant read defenses. Get ready for a long long season.

Curtis looks too small compared to Softserve. Why didn't they consider Moss at all? He had nearly 200 yards receiving today.

It's not the special teams coach's fault. The guys dropped and misplayed punts because they had never done it before. it's squarely on Heckert and Reid...a fucking joke.

At least you know what to expect with the Phillies. 85-86 wins and no realistic expectations of ever making the playoffs. AT least they are reliable.

in a completely calm manner, i honestly think lewis and reed should be cut tomorrow. They are scrubs who likely wouldn't make any other team so its not like a big loss to make the statement.

Yes and no...the Packers are much better than you're giving them credit for, but special teams should continue to plague them.

Agreed. They were obviosuly not prepared to start the season on KO or punt returns and it cost them dearly.
Now the next question is who do they bring to field punts and return KOs.
And please don't say Reno

there needs to be some sort of "contest", where an Eagle fan can pick one person a week to kick off the Birds. Not only does that person have the power to cut a player, but they get to explain why their cutting that player. Put it on TV and it's gold, jerry, gold!

Don't let the ST coach off the hook so easily. I don't care who you are - if your role is to run back a punt or a kick, you HAVE to know not to dive into three defenders to catch a dangerous ball. That's just unacceptable.

Trying to remember the last time I seen a worse PR display by a team and I can't.
That was the worst ever.
Reed and Lewis better not be in an Eagles uniform Monday night.

If you can't impart the "wisdom" of fair catching or letting a ball bounce by this point, you suck. Seacrest sucks. The Eagles ST suck. The blame should be shared all around, period.
Reid takes the "blame" when the regular players perform poorly, so why should Seacrest get any special exemption? Why can't he cut them in the PC after the game? It wasn't just one aberration, it was a monumental clusterfuck all around. Eff 'em all!

In fact, the ST were SO bad, they overshadowed a below par performance from McNabb. They overshadowed a horrible game plan by FB. They could almost be single-handedly be blamed for the loss. Effing pathetic!

After that performance I don't see how Reed and Lewis come back for week 2.
So this week they are going to have to bring in some players who can at least field a punt or return a KO on a DIV III level.

OK, beyond bagging on the ST, where was the blocking by the FB? Was Tapeh really hurt that badly in the beginning?
Where was the run during the horrible "all pass" drives?
McNabb threw one bad INT, and should have been tagged with at least 2. Me (being the McNabb homer that I am), I can kind of chalk that up to rust.
What was up with the dropped passes by the RBs?
The Avant personal foul was horrible, and had just as much of an impact on the outcome as all the other horrible shit that happened.

I agree Dave, but I'm still in full on rant mode. The D played above and beyond what I expected, but I'm still too jacked up about ST to really go into what went right in the game.

We have the benefit of watching the travesty of a game being presented by the Bears-Chargers in Tucson. At least the temps are in the 90's, football is on all weekend, and I will be geting a new Eagles mug ASAP. I don't remeber being this upset over an opening day game since Reid's first against the Cardinals though.

Some quick after thoughts....
-Spikes played really well
-The "D" was not the problem today. THey did give up some runs late, but overall looked ok.
-Special teams need help, especially on kick off and punt. Something is seriously wrong there.
-McNabb looked ok. Not good, not bad. He has a lot of talent around him, but he's not the "super star" he used to be.
-Gocong looked a little better, but from where he started, thats not a good thing. Smart team will pick on him.
-The middle of the field was, way, way too open. That's either bad LB coverage, or the nickel is not doing his job. Either way, the middle was way too open.
-Reggie Brown disappointed me today. He doesn't look like a stud #1.
-Avant looks like he will be a very nice slot player.
-Westbrook is great. Yeah, he dropped those two balls, but he's now there best offensive player. Used to be McNabb, but it's now Westy. McNabb is more important overall to the Eagles, but Westy is a better player.

OK, positives:
- Akers looks like money again. I didn't see any real problem with Rocca holding this game, and he hit a long FG
- Defense actually sort of impressed me. Granted Favre was Favre, and horribly threw a few balls that should have been game changers.
- Westbrook is the shiftiest RB in the league. Too bad as he would have been the answer in the return game if he wasn't as great as he is.
- I will give somewhat of a shout out to McNabb for extending quite a few plays. I wish he would grow a set and realize when FB is setting him up for failure with 12 straight passing plays.
- Um...was there really any other positives?
