Here's the thing I keep wrestling with...
Would it have been better for the Eagles to have been blown out (ala the Saints) or lose in this fashion.
The maddening thing is that the Eagles once again won just about every aspect of the game, except for the most important one.
Can it be as simple as just fixing the ST? They haven't faced this sort of thing since Reid's first season, but ST just showed that it is as important as any other facet of the game. I am really concerned that the Eagles coaching staff/players have either forgotten this fact or just taken it for granted for too long.
I ultimately hold Segrest responsible, but the fact is that the players that were on the field actually made the "plays". How can the Eagles enter the season with that many question marks at some of the most critical aspects of the game (punter, both returners) to start the season is absolutely MIND BOGGLING to me.
15-1 was certainly a joke given the schedule, but the fact that I can't even see it as a remote possibility speaks loads for how this first game played out.
