Don't remember the writer who penned it....but bottom line is:

* if it doesn't help, then why do it?

* "post game analysis"? You already have several camera men to film the action. There is no action on the opposing team's sideline.

* "stealing" signals isn't unallowed, but filming those signals is.....it is also very telling how the Patriots seem to be the best team in the NFL at half-time adjustments. Can't believe its all Bellicheat's genius. Let's see.....how are Crennel and Weis doing now?

I personally love how Bellicheat had to inject the comment that the Commish didn't think the filming influenced the outcome of the game. Why didn't anyone hear it from Goddel himself?

Rabid media? The media itself was surprised at how much interest the story was getting. Jackass.

I also love Brady's bullshit response of how this wasn't a big deal and will blow over.

Proof of the pudding is in the eating. I'll be curious to see how the Pats do going forward. If they really show signs of weakness, EVERYONE will point to this and claim it the reason for their success.

I didn't know I hated Patriots fans so much....

I think you touched on this in a roundabout way F-d... If "I Spy" gets to write off this $500,000 as a tax deduction (it goes to the United Way?), and the Pats still have a first rounder left next year- how is this a punishment at all? Sounds like a cover up/sham to me. Shoulda been a 6 game suspension.

I don't know what the right number is for a "crime" of this sort, but given the circumstances (the fines are already tax write-offs earmarked for charity and they have 2 1st round picks) this is less than a slap on the wrist...it's a joke.

With that said, you could make a case as the commissioner that taking more than a first round wouldn't be fair just because the Patriots were fortunate enough trade and end up with 2 this year.

Taking a first round pick from most teams would be catastrophic, but those assholes end up losing a pick in the late 20's/early 30's and retaining a higher first round pick anyway. Not as good as having two first rounder, but certainly not something that would keep me up at night.

I think a suspension should have been levied for sure.

I'd say that is appropriate for being an open ass. Bellicheck's "understanding" of the rules needed to be clarified for him. Viola!
What the fuck does an oversized violin that fat chicks like to play have to do with any of this?

Doesn't seem fair to me.

Wade Wilson, the Dallas Cowboys' quarterbacks coach, said he might appeal his five-game suspension after Thursday's events in the New England Patriots' spying scandal, ESPN.com reported yesterday.
Wilson, who has suffered from diabetes for 24 years, admitted he bought medication (believed to be human growth hormone) that is banned under the league's substance-abuse policy. Wilson said he did not know the rule applied to coaches as well as players.

But the NFL suspended Wilson for five games and fined him $100,000 - nearly a third of his salary.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick was fined $500,000 for having an assistant videotape the New York Jets' defensive signals, but escaped suspension.

while more than a slap on the wrist, to me, the penalty was a bit light.

either a suspension or heavier fine was warranted.

have to wonder if this affected the superbowls or not.

these guys are taking a funny approach: buying Belichick a spy-kit for Christmas. LMAO.

Eagles fans are tops on the leaderboard too.

Belichick should be fired! Looks like he'll be getting mocked by the fans at some future games: thepatriotgames.com.

Careful about the wrist slaps - you wouldn't want to get sliced up on those three well-earned rings.

'Major League Sports are what we thought they were!'
Hate to say it, but everything we used to think was clean and actual is over even a 'clean' play at the plate, please).. Not a Padres fan, just an observer. All done. All bullshit. All the time.
