Last night, after three consecutive hours of a recycled talking point, I learned from the insightful commentators that McNabb is underappreciated by the fans in Philly (I swear nothing else was talked about), but I wasn't expecting this diss from his own organization.

Heres to hoping Mcnabb gets to Chicago somehow and wins a Superbowl. This organization is the slimiest and cheapest bunch of blowhards ever.

Spuds: "The Eagles receivers can be a little better, but the Eagles have addressed the position with 1st round picks, second round picks, high priced free agents...Donovan needs to accept the responsibility here"
Spuds (responding to the Jaws criticism of the WRs last night): "That wasn't accurate at all because they didn't show every play. Receivers were open. Donovan needs to hit them when they are open. They showed the receivers, but they didn't highlight all of McNabb's misfires when receivers were WIDE open. They also didn't mention the 4th down play McNabb just threw in the air and Reggie Brown basically saved him with a great catch."
Spuds: "what about the 3rd down play in the red zone when Curtis was open by three steps and McNabb misfires because of a little pressure"
Spuds: "I believe the spark has to come from the QB. When they play Detroit next week, Donovan has to provide the spark"

Spuds: (again with the Jaws criticism): "This is ridiculous and it's an incorrect assessment. There were PLENTY of times when the receivers had A LOT of space and Donovan missed them or misfired."

This is on par with Clarke & the Flyers throwing Lindros under the bus.

Wow - not even the Philly media themselves are destroying 5 this badly. Well, maybe that guy on 950, but still.
Nice to know when Reid says "(McNabb) will get it done", he really means "with another team".

It's brutal. the callers are mostly bashing Reid, the WRs, and the playcalling. Spuds keeps bringing it back around and basically blaming everything on McNabb.

Spuds: "What have they not done for McNabb? They draft guys, they spent a boatload of money of Kevin Curtis...this isn't on the WRs. I saw at least 3 plays last night when Reggie was WIDE open and Donovan was throwing over here, over there, everywhere"

I love how the organization thinks we're retarded.
Even better coming in a backhanded fashion from Spuds. It's great.

This point I actually do agree with him on this point.
Other than that, he's spewing nonsense.

I'm not saying what's fair or not fair. it's just clearly obvious he would be singing a COMPLETELY different tune if they didn't draft a QB last year OR if Kolb didn't look good in the pre-season.
They play this game...they bury guys in the propaganda battle so they have the fan base and media on their side when they make the move. It also kills trade value, but that's their trademark.

Even if McNabb plays well next week, they'll still be saying "How long can this last?"
I almost want McNabb to win a SB for another team just out of spite. If he wasn't such a closet racist.

Man, … I wish I could get to a phone!!!
I gotta tell ya’, … I absolutely LOVE this talk. Trade his Wilmafuckingass to Da’ Bears straight up for Devon Hester while you still can. I tired of his constant whining of being bullied as a child, whining because he’s a black stereotyped QB, whining because they booed him on draft day, whining because nobody believes he wasn’t puking his guts out in the huddle during gut check time at the SB, whining because nobody believes that he’s the leader of this team, etc.
Eff’ him.

Be careful, though...this is their plan. By shifting the blame entirely to McNabb they are starting the propaganda battle for saving Reid's job and shipping all their problems out the door with McNabb, the failure.
McNabb is a better football player than Reid is a coach/offensive coordinator. Period.
I knew McNabb was gone as soon as they drafted Kolb, but they need to get rid of the entire snake...not just the head.

All blaming 5 and starting 4 does is buy time for an intellectually bankrupt coaching staff.

Anyone else sick of hearing the announcers complain about the Philly fans booing? It's a pretty simple concept really. We reward athletic prowess. We punish incompetence.

Dean....nobody on this board is a bigger detractor of # 5 than myself....but last night was DEFINITELY not his fault alone.
Playcalling was atrocious. Why keep passing if your QB keeps misfiring and your RB gains nearly 5 yards/carry???
To me, it is clear that you can't really have a deep threat in somebody that is 5'6" (Curtis)....even Pinky did better with deep balls. Curtis fell down and stumbled on at least 3 routes. He dropped a 4th down conversion. Even Will James did better to hang onto his ball.
LJ isn't playing like its a contract year. And often enough, I saw WRs jammed at the line ala Carolina.
Avant was the only one who showed me ANYTHING yesterday - Westy nonwithstanding.
On defense....there are no quality players. Really..none. Spikes, Kearse and Howard (big names) were all no shows. Will James is a liability not for his penchant for flags but for burns. Bustley hasn't translated his dedication to solid play. Just not seeing it.
Sorry...McNabb isn't recovered and he wasn't whining and he wasn't the entire problem.

I'm waiting for Spuds to talk about his knees...that is the kiss of death.
McNabb is in a catch 22. He isn't fully recovered. On his one scramble for the first down...he looked like Peyton. If he sits and Kolb does well - he's gone. Tough predicament. Of course, Wilma could form a prayer chain hoping for Kolb's failure.
