"Yup...that's clearly the plan unless they unexpectedly start winning."

And that will be atributed to Reid's "wonderful" coaching job.

Does anyone have any confidence in this entire staff anymore? McNabb's stuff notwithstanding, the defense isn't there and Campbell was relatively clean; special teams returns (and coverage) is a joke; the WRs are a replay of 4 years ago; there's no real depth after the team had been crowing about it for months; the LBs are young and clueless - I mean, this team is leaking oil everywhere. But according to Spuds, it's all on an injured 5 that shouldn't be out there. But WHY is he out there in the first place, and if he was going to be out there, why not give him more than 2 quarters to get ready in the pre-season?

What a joke.

Who exactly are they hoping to fool with this line of BS? National media, local media, the fanbase? We've seen the pettiness of FB since day 1 (the George Hegamin blocking sled episode), what do they hope to accomplish?.

-Also look at the Raheem Brock situation. How is he doing in Indy?

-The original Trotter tiff? Levon Kirkland anyone?

-Stallworth. Trying to sell that bill of goods called White Lightning

Jules, I think it’s time for a change. I’m looking for a leader to take control. All I read is excuses. You know what? Brady’s receivers have been mediocre at best for the past several years. He seems to know how to get it done. McNabb’s been with the team for what, … 9 years? This guy seems to have a deep seeded problem living in the past! What he fails to realize is that nobody cares. Nobody cares that he was bullied as a youngster. Nobody cares that he is black. Aside from a passing interest about his personal strife, … nobody cares. What fans DO care about is having a QB who DOES actually pass for 300 yards a game, win games by 7 points and lead the team to a championship. (As opposed to just talking about it.) This is a guy who wastes enormous amounts of energy wanting to be understood when he should be working on his passing accuracy, how to read a cover 0 defense, etc. Nope, I’m done with 5.

And fat ass Reid, … I think it’s clear that he’s been totally distracted from the team. What else can be stated that hasn’t already been mentioned? He also needs to pack his bags.

They have some credibility on personnel moves (Troy Vincent & Bobby Taylor til exempel), but you're right. What was the figure with Brock? $55k?

Easier when you know the Defense before the play.

I think they are trying to convince themselves. I'm pretty sure nobody here is buying this garbage.

Listen, after nine years of wasted time outs, play actions that only waste time and fool nobody, passes to the weakest WR in your corps in the flat and a pass/run ratio of 70/30....your problem isn't your QB. It is your coach.

PERIOD.

On the other side, your "fastballs" seem to be flung by a pee wee league pitcher not a major leaguer. Undersized DTs are a staple and formerly injured DEs. If it weren't for Dawk anchoring the secondary (now two years past his prime) there'd be more to say about that. Lito and Sheldon are probably the best pickups for Fat Man and Co.

I agree about the time for a change, Dean.

But I'm not letting Reid off the hook, Dean. He has repeated his errors for 9 years and THAT is consistency.

Brady’s receivers have been mediocre at best for the past several years. He seems to know how to get it done.

He also has insane accuracy and is constantly put in a position to win by his HC. Two things that the Eagles are lacking.

Winning coaches know how to put their players in the best position to win - not just sit back and say "It's my responsibility to get them in a better position to win".

It's a mess all around. I've never seen a team come four- and five-wide and have ZERO open looks for the QB.

And that late missed-TD pass that McNabb "overthrew?" I think it could be argued that the play was to the sidelines for a first down, and Curtis turned into the end zone thinking he could make it.

And the special teams...did they practice at all this week, outside of the two guys doing the returns? On every punt return I bothered to focus on, one or both of the Redskins gunners had a straight shot at Mahe. They were barely even bumped, let alone redirected or stopped.

I guess there WERE some people that didn't want Favre, then...

As much of McNabb's antics and bitching pisses me off, I'm willing to give McNabb a very small pass if his play is due to injury. He has never been an accurate guy, but his legs have always bought him time to make a play. Taking away his legs is taking away his effectiveness.

That being said, some of those throws were horrible, even by McNabbs standard. I don't know if the guy is hurt, or just given up. Either way this is ugly.

One other point. This Mahe, catch the ball and don't worry about the run is Fing retarded.

PS-Barkley needs to STFU

to add to the pile on:

the pass/run ratio last night was criminal. there is no other word for it; it rivals the punt return fiasco in terms of absolutely fireable offenses for a head coach. not being dramatic, just stating a fact.

add in the shocking - lack of talent on this roster, (sometimes seeming almost deliberate), made more apparent as the pre-reid guys are moved out to pasture
- overmatched or over-the-hill coordinators he has installed
- inability/unwillingness to make ANY adjustments

and the scenario is pretty clear.

i have generally been a reid supporter, but it is 100% clear he has to go. he (or any of his staff) absolutely cannot be around by the draft next year.

"add in the shocking - lack of talent on this roster, (sometimes seeming almost deliberate)"

This is what pisses me off about his arrogance. He's trying find every fucking diamond in the rough, but we're stuck looking at a bunch of Kingsford briquets.

And has 5 ever had as good a WR tandem as he did at Syracuse? Yet this prick has him throw 65-70% of the time.

Moronic or Insane, your choice.

the pass/run ratio last night was criminal

Made even MORE criminal by the fact that he SAW LAST YEAR that a more even ratio won games! He is so arrogant that winning is not good enough - he needs to win HIS WAY or not at all. The fact that he went back to 70-30 pass run last night was criminal and retarded.

5.7 yard per carry rushing. JUST RUN THE DAMN BALL.

Nice job drafting to running backs to cut one and sit the other. Jackass.

fågelpojke,

The Patriots are the polar opposite of the Eagles. They shop for WR's like they are on Rodeo Drive. The Eagles shop for WR's like they are on Canal St.

though it's been mentioned in this thread about 100 times so far, the insanity of play call ratio cannot be overstated.

i really don't have anything to add about it, i am just sitting here and i can't get over it, absolutely cannot get my mind around the fact that you would honestly call 75% pass plays AT ANY TIME, AT ANY LEVEL OF FOOTBALL.

forget the fact that your qb can't pass. forget the fact that your qb has no mobility. forget the fact that your receivers can't get open in man coverage. or that your best offensive player by far is your rb who averaged over 5 yards per carry. and you saw running totally change the fortunes of the offense JUST LAST YEAR?!?

i mean, WTF? we make fun of manuel for being stupid (and rightly so), but in all his questionable moves, he has never made a move of such absolute cluelessness.

right now, i don't know a coach in the nfl who does more to hurt his teams chances to win than reid. not one.

We've got a:

- Cowher is amazing (3 months after he wins a Super Bowl and 4 months before he tanks a season and retires).

- Hines Ward is the second coming of Cris Carter/has his hands...3 months removed from the Super Bowl MVP.

- "Eagles are doomed" before they put together a 10 win season and fall a smidge short of another NFC Championship game.

Sounds about right.
