Could it get any worse for the Aints?

I'll fess up- they were my pick this year based on their schedule this year and their previous record. Got a little more digging to do down there without their rock RB.

Leading up to this game, most of the analyst/reporters were saying that the problem was that they weren't using him.

I thought their problem was that teams realized Mark Simoneau was playing the middle.

Simonwho was OWNED by Lendale White as he barreled over him into the endzone. I remember those days but without fondness and I wish I could forget them.

I remember the only guy Simoneau ever got the best of was Eddie George in that one MNF game. Haven't heard from George since.

That is mandatory retirement if you get owned by Simonowned.

This is really like losing 1.5 players for the Saints. Reggie Bush is a playmaker, but the team's ability to run those double RB sets is greatly reduced, especially with their focus on spreading the defense out by racing Bush out as a sideline WR in motion.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Bush's numbers. My guess is more carries, slightly fewer yards.

Hey Fred...you actually picked the Saints to do what? I hope it was going back to being the Aints. Last year was a fluke. Fool's Gold. They might win 8 games this year, but that took a hit with Duece going down Monday night. None of the Titan LBs fell for the play action...because they have no running game without Duece...Reggie Bush is not as fast as he was at USC because everybody is just as fast as he is now.

The Saints are in trouble and they are in the weakest NFC division.

Jerobi...Bush had a grand total of 15 rushing yards...What playmaker only gets 15 rushing yards?

A playmaker with an offensive line that's playing HORRIBLE. That's the root of the Saints' problems.

Bush is still faster than some people in the NFL, but it matters little when your line don't block for crap.

They've got 2 weeks to fix their issues - their schedule is more daunting now because the teams they thought would be bad aren't - and if they get their OLine to block like they did last year, they'll recover.

The real problem with the Saints was EAG put his tough of death on them by crownin' their asses before the season started.

If EAG backs you, you're fucked.

And that can be taken one of MANY ways.

Meanwhile the tandem of Mario Williams and Amobi Okoye on the Texans have 5 combined sacks against some tough O-lines.

Is it safe to say yet that Houston didn't deserve the grief they took for drafting Mario Williams over Reggie Bush?

I still think Bush will be a good player but Mario has been playing pretty well this year while Bush has been out classed by more than a few young RBs thus far... Addai, Maroney, Jones-Drew, Peterson. What they can be criticized most for is not trading down and grabbing Williams in the 3-4 slot range.
