b. McNabb's internal clock has been stuck at 15 seconds for years now.

To be fair, most internal clocks are set on the WRs getting open. Nobody got open, and McNabb usually waits a little bit longer until they're WIDE open. Add that to a line that couldn't block the 85 Bears right now, and it becomes an embarrassment.

AND McNabb went for X-Rays. Anybody else get the feeling of "I lost the game, and now I'm hurt", like a 7 year old who lost a game of pickup two-hand touch?

And even beyond that, I laugh at this team for
1) Proclaiming their depth to be amazing, and
2) Saying that they were better than the 04 SB team.

And Justice's last name is apropos, since Umenyura treated him like he was in Oz.

That was probably the worst game a left tackle has ever played.

This loss goes on Reid again, though. How do you not give him help seeing the way he's getting destroyed over there?

As usual, the Eagles weren't content winning the game with their rush offense. I hate, hate, hate their offense.

They were carving the Giants up running the ball and struggling to throw and protect. How do they process that information? They go 20/9 pass/run in the first half.

Surely they discussed it at half time, saw they could keep McNabb protected, noticed their running game was dominating and applied their information to the game plan, right? Nope...they come out and throw 28 times and run 10 more times.

Their best drive early in the game:

Play 1: Buck runs for 17 yards.
Play 2: Buck runs for 8.
Play 3: Buck stopped for no gain.
Play 4: Buck runs for 12 yards.

At that point in the drive they are just blowing the Giants apart in the run game and Buck has taken them down to the Giants 39. They finish the drive with this play selection:

Play 5: Incomplete to Curtis.
Play 6: Incomplete to Curtis.
Play 7: Sack by Osi.
Play 8: Punt.

Typical. I actually root for them to lose when they call games like that.

Fuck that fat prick. Go Phillies.

I wouldn't go that far. If I just got sacked for a league record tying 12 times and was throttled on every other pass I threw, I'd want an x-ray or two.

Just looking at the schedule, 9-7 is still possible but I think it's more likely they do worse than better.

From the TV, it looked like Morning wood was calling the plays...even though Redi was still with his diner menu.

Anybody wanna bet that Reid fed Morningwood the plays he wanted before the game, and overrode him on a couple of occasions?

Can't explain it anyway else - especially after the balance they had last year with Garthia.

Gotta put some blame on 5, too. If Osi's basically setting up shop where you finish your drop, and if McNabb seemingly has audible power, how does he not change something at the line?

Got so bad that the only reason Justice stopped him was because Osi got tired....and he was still giving up sacks to somebody else.

That's exactly what's happening. Marty has years and year of playcalling experience under his belt. That track record, along with the track record he established last year first hand, is of an OC who likes to run the ball.

I don't know how he's involved (either crafting the gameplan, over-ruling Morningwood, or what), but he's obviously involved more heavily than he should be.

If they would simply run the ball, they'd be 4-0 right now...3-1 at worst.

No way...there's no audible for "somebody help my LT block the end lined up over him" on every play.

If you want to put any blame on McNabb (IMO) it would be due to the fact that he's not very mobile right now. Still, that's not his fault and the coaches are fully aware of the situation...they need to scheme better.

What's hilarious is I had a Dallas fan over at my place tonight, and pointed out that after every single time we got a first down running the ball, I would tell him FB was gonna call a pass. Sho 'nuff, FB obliged.

How can you be so absolutely mule-headed to see that the O-line is totally blowing the Giants off the line, yet continue to pass?

I said last week was the worst thing that could've happened, because it only reinforced in FB's mind that passing all the time works.

FB needs to be gone now. I too hope they lose every game from now until the end of the season, save the Dallas games.

When, early on, or late in the 4th when you could hear Madden chuckling through his mute button via Al's mic?

What I learned (that I already knew):

Reid is a complete idiot. There is no excuse to have a 20/9 pass run ratio in the first half when they aren't even playing from behind for the first 21 minutes. Of course, Spuds will say WRs were open and McNabb missed them.

Jesus H.....12 sacks. They weren't all coverage sacks. Justice was not ready. The team made many mental errors, penalties, etc. Let's see, Burress was available on the FA market and no look by Reid? Whatever, replace your ONLY deep threat with a 5'8" Mormon. Even Dante Hall would be better than Curtis.

This teams D-line has several older players namely Howard and Kearse just don't have it anymore. I don't care about their minimal contribution. Spikes seems not to make a difference. Sure, Lurie got them at reasonable prices (except for Kearse).

What this proves:

Reid must be fired.
Heckert must be fired.
G Lewis, Howard, Spikes, and Kearse must go.

McNabb is a baby like TO, but both of them can play football. Too bad this team won't seek out a deep threat.

PS 15 penalties for 132 yards.

Oh, and Buck gained 103 yards on 17 carries. > 5 yards per attempt.

35 pass plays against 19 rush plays. Roughly 2:1. Just fucking dumb.

Bass, F_D; Sarge & Jules,

Are you seriously blind? This game was a perfect example of a QB failing to execute at an NFL level. A good QB will lift the level of play of his WRs. He will see when they're open (even if they appear covered) and get them the ball. This was all 5's fault. Justic was doing a fine job on Umenyiora, his QB let him down by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Eagles system is infallible as long as the QB does his job. 5 didn't.

ps I'm up for an internship at Eagles Digest.

Nothing quite like having your intelligence questioned by the opposition, eh Andy?

Why Andy Reid didn't give struggling left tackle Winston Justice more blocking help with Osi Umenyiora? Michael Strahan wondered the same thing after the game.

"Go help the young kid," he said. "I'm 35. [Jon] Runyan is an All-Pro. He didn't need help. I feel for [Justice]."

I agree that Spikes hasn't been an impact player and Howard/Kearse aren't the players they once were, but I can't find fault with the defense.

They gave up 10 points to the Giants while playing with a group of young starters still growing and without Dawk and Lito.

The 2 things I was really concerned about this year were the defense and special teams. Special tesm has been a nightmare, but the defense has been excellent. They could use more big plays, but they have played very, very sound football. When you factor in the fact that they've been playing without their 2 defensive pro bowlers, it's even more impressive.

These losses (every single one) go squarely on Reid/Heckert, IMO.

Jesus H.....12 sacks. They weren't all coverage sacks. Justice was not ready.

They weren't even mostly coverage sacks. Supah 5 was taking a bunch of 5-step drops, and yet about 1/2 the time he wouldn't even finish the 5 steps before he had to start his audition for "So You Think You Can Dance". The OL was leaking like a sieve.

You know something? Based on the way the 1st quarter unfolded, I bet the Giants' DC and his staff basically told the D-line before the game, "We're gonna pass-blitz on every single down. Just pretend they're working out of an empty backfield every play. They won't adjust. Go get 'im."

For one 4-play sequence early on, Buck was carving out huge chunks of yardage. Why? 'Cause by the time he hit the line of scrimmage, he was already into the secondary.

Gee, what should that have told Fatboy and Morningwood? Hmmm ..... oh, I don't know ..... what about RUN THE EFFING BALL SOME MORE?

Nope. And Spagnulo, or whatever the guy's name was, worked under FB long enough to KNOW they wouldn't, and so the Jints got to pin their ears back all frickin' game long.

I'm honestly surprised they didn't get 20 sacks instead of "just" 12.

Reid's "I'd rather lose my way than win some other way" has grown tired.

Not only that, but AGAIN the coach didn't put his players in the best position to win. This is getting tiresome. And yesterday is a perfect example of how Reid refuses to adjust despite what's going on the field - it's happened in the SB, it's happened in other games, and it happened again last night.

There's no way that Buck shouldn't have had 150+ in this game. None.

No way...there's no audible for "somebody help my LT block the end lined up over him" on every play.

No, but if you know a guy is getting blown away on every play, and if he does have the ability to audible at the line, why not call plays to that spot, so Umenyura doesn't think pass on every down?

I'm not saying McNabb should share the blame equally - 95% goes on FB's shoulders for not adjusting. But he's gotta know enough to at least try to change things up enough so that he's not getting killed out there. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong, but no one gave him any help, except for Herremans. And even then, that was only if Umenyura went inside.

Did anyone ever think with the defense playing this wel so far, they would be 1-3?

Reid has got to go. Here are his comments again:

"He will learn from it, that's what he will do," said head coach Andy Reid. "You're not going to win a lot of football games in the National Football League playing the way we played. ... It wasn't one guy. It starts with me, putting guys in the right protection (schemes) and giving them some help. I didn't do a very good job of that."

I know it has been said ad nauseaum, but this schtick is nine years old. My kids rarely make the same mistake twice and he has gotten away with it for 9 years!

This loss is almost entirely on the fat genius. However, not to pile on McNabb, but if he were a fraction of the leader he claims to be, he would have called out FB somewhere around the 6th sack. Upon receiving the play he should be saying aloud "5 step drop and wait for someone to get open again? Are f-ing kidding me? Screw this, Buck, run up the middle for 6 yards again."
