From Paul Domowitch's column.
For 9 years now, Reid has taken the bullet for each and every Eagles loss. We've rolled our eyes every time he has stared down at us from the NovaCare Ritz stage and told us that it's "my job to put players in better position to make plays."
But we haven't been rolling them this season because Reid, the winningest coach in Eagles history, has done a lousy job of coaching thus far. His fingerprints are all over two of the Eagles' three losses.

Here's a flip-side question - if Andy feels like he's had enough, would Banner and Lurie let him go?
We're always saying how they wouldn't fire him, but because he's been so productive, would they even let him go if he wanted? Let's not forget that this is all about business, and from a business standpoint it's hard tot ell if another coach would have the same track record as Reid.

You can't stop someone from quitting.
I don't think he would leave Philly to coach anywhere else, aside from BYU, which is probably where he really belongs (nothing but Mormons on the roster, a pass-happy offense where you never have to run the ball, no criticism in the media, no easy access to drugs for the kiddies, etc.).

Didn't his oldest son come back from Utah with his drug problem in tow?
Jeffy & Li'L Joe might have a clause in Reid's contract that if he opts out early he would have to repay some $$$. But I think that would only apply if he Coached somewhere else in the NFL.
But let's not kid ourselves, Reid is a "System" guy. He has a system for playcalling, for evaluating talent, for handling the media. He probably has a sytem for how to order a pizza and how to take a shit afterwards in that 30 lb binder he has.
If he has a system for when to walk away, I'm sure it doesn't include two sons in the pokey, so he won't do it.

That being said, I would love to see him replace Joe Gibbs in DC.
I think the combination of Reid & Snyder would implode that franchise.

Apparently, Reid is going to be replaced by Gruden before the end of this season.
(Apparently idle speculation with no basis in fact from PFT is good journalistic material to Yahoo Sports):

Reid on way out in Philly, Gruden on way in?

After a tumultuous personal offseason involving legal troubles for two of his sons and a disappointing 1-3 start to the 2007 campaign, it should surprise no one that rumors are circulating that Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid will step down after the season, if not sooner.
The fact that these events are unfolding in Philadelphia will only make the storm more intense. The unexpected qualification of the Phillies for the baseball playoffs could stave off the bulk of the scrutiny for as long as a month, but eventually the Phils will be done and the focus will shift back to the Eagles.
And the name to watch in this regard is Jon Gruden, head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Seeing as how Tampa is playing well right now, and Gruden has been fairly adamant about his hatred for Philadelphia, PFT looks like they've hit the nail on the head yet again.

If they're going to throw out a random ex-Coordinator turned NFL Head Coach with no interest in leaving their current post, why not Jeff Fisher?

This is a piece of an article from Jason Whitlock, Foxsports.
"6. Let me be the first to say it: Andy Reid is overrated.
Standing on the sideline and calling pass play after pass play while the Giants are hammering the franchise quarterback who built your reputation was one of the most selfish coaching acts I've ever witnessed.
Donovan McNabb should've slapped Reid after Philly's 16-3 loss. What a joke. No way you let your star quarterback get sacked a dozen times, especially on a night when your ground game is giving you 5 yards per carry.
It's easy to blame Philly tackle Winston Justice, aka Highway-74, the express route to the quarterback. But Reid's game plan was atrocious. McNabb is being used and thrown to the wolves."

What everyone once again appears to be overlooking is Reid's stubborn streak. We have seen in the past with the running game. Run it up the middle for no game. If you don't succeed why not run it up the middle again for gain!
Reid is too proud and way too stubborn to walk away..

game should be gain... Now back to your regularly scheduled tar and feathering of the coach.
BTW Sheldon Brown looking pretty good these days.. Saw him at the Carolina/Kentucky game last night. He was introduced at halftime.
