Yeah, here's everything. Les never seemed like the fighting type to me, but that's pretty funny. I haven't watched the video, but apparently Asante is taunting them the entire time they are interviewing Vick.

McLane is a douchebag who is wrong half the time. Most of his "breaks" are wild guesses.

And really, what "breaking news" comes out of the Eagles organization and is released to the local media? It's like Fort Knox over there, and if there's a story of merit, they release it to a kiss-ass like Eskin or someone in the national media like Jay Glazer.

Why reporters from the Inquirer and Daily News would ever fight is beyond me. They work for the same company, and does anyone still buy hardcopies of either paper instead of getting all the news from both at Philly.com?

Michael Silver, who picked the Eagles to win it all, uncovers some internal dissension among the ranks.

Again, these are the kind of quotes the local guys never get.

The worst is how they format their pages to create clicks (like a 2 page article could fit on one, but the 2nd page is like 2 lines long).

And Talon, good find on that link about the Eagles. Local media's all like "Owen Schmidt is a great athlete" and the quotes in Yahoo depict a MUCH different story.

Sorry - confusing that with what Quick would say.

Still, it points out how outsiders are able to get quotes like these and the locals can't

But Reid doesn't seem to operate well under adversity. Tom Coughlin and the Giants, they handle adversity. They've had a bunch of it in recent years (much of it at the hands of Reid), and they've sort of become experts in rallying around the idea that the odds and opinions are stacked against them. The Giants were outmanned in Week 3, but in large part because of the way the Eagles had handled them over the previous three seasons, were the more determined team, and they channeled their anger, frustration and determination into a big win.

Reid
Reid and the Eagles should learn from that, because they don't have experience with it. They're usually on top, doling out the adversity. Their recent history is not one of coming back, of overcoming bad starts or major injuries. We don't know if they're capable of handling the issues that would result from a 1-3 start, because they don't have a track record to show us. The closest example we have in the Reid era is 2003, when they started 0-2 and won 12 of their final 14. But that was eight years ago, when people had more patience, every move wasn't being dissected 24 hours a day on hundreds of channels and web sites and no one had yet imagined Twitter. That was a different time, and it was a long time ago.

I still disagree about the difference of scrutiny in the past, but it was bad before and bad now.

Getting called out on Twitter by a guy you see every day, and whose desk is 30 feet away from yours at the office, is weak.

Da Hoff - "Eagles = GUTLESS"

Scared & stupid is no way to win

"The point is, if that is the way you have to attack the goal line, you have nothing. I can respect 513 yards of total offense, and Vick yesterday was tremendous, but if all you have is gimmicks on third-and-goal, gadgets and prayers in short-yardage, you are not winning any Super Bowls.

It is why the water rises around Andy Reid this morning. He built this shell of a defense. He invented Juan Castillo as his defensive coordinator. He shrunk his offensive line to sizes unseen around here in forever. This is his, all of it, and it is a burgeoning disaster.

There is time to fix it, and we all know that. But the Eagles are playing scared and they are playing stupid, and the combination is fatal."

listened to the press conference at noon today. It was pretty chirpy...at one point Mike Miss got on him about the Brown play at the goal line and it turned into a fairly heated little exchange. Doubt he'll be let in the building again.

MM asked Reid why would he call a pass play to Ronnie Brown like that. Reid tried ignoring the question, but MM kept pushing. Eventually Reid got pissed and told MM that he can come to practice and check out the plays if he wanted to, since they practiced that at NovaCare. MM kept asking why he "pulled that play out of nowhere" and it just got bad.

Something along the lines of:

MM: "On that goal line play with Ronnie Brown, would you say that was kind of a desperation play?"

AR: No. It's somethign we practiced and it didn't work.

MM: "Would you consider it kind of despeerate, though?"

AR: "No. We run new plays all the time. We work on it a lot in practice, which you'd know if you ever showed up. You'd know that if you ever showed up. You're trying to be a big shot here, but if you would ever come to a practice you'd have seen us working on that"

Something like that.

Here's the whole Reid Mikey Miss exchange, which was obviously designed specifically to get a reaction and hand over some red meat to the KPL. They had this up on the Fanatic site within a couple minutes of the press conference concluding.

Not that I didn't appreciate the premise of the question, but I sorta felt like that exchange was mostly about grandstanding for ratings on MM's part. There's a part of me that did appreciate FB's "bigshot" dig.

Even if grandstanding, MM does have a point, though - what sane person would think that a jump pass would be a better option than QB sneak/running off-tackle, especially with Peters/Herremans lined up on the left?

At the same time, though, this team just can't run in from the 1. Maybe you do play action, maybe bootleg, maybe go 5 wide and push up the middle.....I mean, IMO those are better options than running up to the line and trying a pass.
